"Yes, speaking of this haunted house," Feanaro speaks up, "I assume there is more to it than that? I believe you have a man in custody?" He turns to look at Belle, Quilla, Orgen and Alek whom he knows are the longest members in attendance.
"Well, yes, we do have the leader of the smugglers from the haunted house in our cells downstairs." Belle says a bit uncomfortably "He gave us quite a lot of information, once Lupin talked him into it, but Lupin had to leave..." she frown and it is like a cloud went over the sun at the sight. The frown does not stay long though as she smiles again. "But then I get to meet a bunch of new people, so I guess it will be fine that the others had to go."
"What we know is this..." Quilla speaks up, drawing attention to herself. "The smugglers in the haunted house were working with the lizardfolk, smuggling weapons for them. The lizardfolk appear to think some other fish-people are going to be starting a war, but I doubt if they were doing anything more than building up their own weapon stockpiles. We should take this information to the city council, and let them decide what to do with it next. Per the contract we have with them, all we were suppose to do was to determine what was going on with the haunted house, which we have now done."
”Do we know what weapons and the locations of trade? Because that information should still be within the contract and would be very helpful if the council had that information. What I’m saying is that we could send in what information we have now and request for a mission to find more information so we won’t fall into a broken contract.”
He nods at Quilla, "While I agree we have fulfilled our obligation, would it not be in the franchises best interests to fully clear the premises? If not than I will take note of the information we have collected, as it could lead to further findings in the area. Preparation is vital after all.
"Speaking of preparations, I would be remiss in mentioning that I am a skilled Tradesman in several areas that will be beneficial I am sure to the local franchise. I am trained as a weaver, leatherworker, smith, tinkerer, alchemist and woodcarver. My services are free to all of you and I will also take orders from the town in our downtime to build relations and earn some extra coin for the tower."
Rober listened to the conversation carefully, taking note of who said what and who didn’t say anything. After listening he cleared his throat.
”Forgive my presumption as I know I am come lately to this team. However, as I understand the terms of the contract to which I am now a party, I think a solid argument can be made that it remains unfulfilled, an argument which the city might well make.
”We...The Dragon Company...were hired to find out what Is happening with the haunted house. What we have found is what the smuggler leader SAID was happening. I agree that we should pass that information to the city but I also agree with Alex that we should endeavor to confirm that information. If the smuggler lies to mislead us then we will have passed on inaccurate information which might well be worse than no information at all.”
Quilla gives Faenaro a smile, he has just become hr favorite person. "Taht is great news, the franchise can always use extra lines of incom." She then nods to the others. "I tis your choice to go to the house again, to finish out there, or to go to the council, or a combination of those things. Please decide among yourself on this, as I have duties to attend to." She heads off from the room then.
"I do think returning to the house would be a good idea." Belle speaks up. "We did not check out much of the house itself, and did not finish going through the caverns under it either." She pauses and looks towards the decisionist. "Should we have a vote? I vote to return to the house before going to the council." Belle lays a voting chip on the table to mark her vote is done.
(Let's use the vote as a roll-call as well. we have had a lot of posts from some of the new people, but I do not believe everyone has posted recently, nor have all of those who are staying on from the old group. Could just be holiday issues still, but let's get everyone on board here and be prepared to move forward. I expect daily posts, for the most part, so let's get back to that moving forward...)
Feanaro lays his coin on to the table, "Although I trust those who went there before, I do vote that we fully explore the house and weed out it's secrets."
Alex thinking that this could cause a reputation increase for our team places his coin on the table saying, “Well as a party use to say and with a little different wording, you have my map for this exploration.”
“Also, a question to those that aren’t new to the group, but how easily would you be recognized or spotted since this may have to be a stealth mission if we have a risk of recognition?”
(I love to think that in between the wait of responses the characters are just starring at each other and only speaking or moving when a reply is posted)
Orgen sits in his chair patiently taking in the new arrivals who came in. His hand scribbling notes into a parchment he had. By Dwarf standards, he was tall standing around 5 ft. he has short cropped blonds hair and a beard that extends down past his chin. For those who stared at the dwarf eyes the sense a something different coming from his pale blue eyes, but for the most part, he looks like any other dwarf warrior you could find around the world.
"Well I can lead you fine and dandy into the place, but I do suggest caution entering the place. It had dangers of many sorts, and I don't believe we ran into many traps going down there. However before we proceed I would like to sell the sword I found down there, and fix up the plate mail I picked up. We think that we killed most of the bandits down there, but I want to be prepared for any other nasty things we find," says Orgen rolling up the parchment.
"I'm guessing the plate will take a few days to get a blacksmith to fix it up, but I can get someone to purchase the sword I am sure." Quilla tells Orgen. "By the time you get back from the house I would bet I could have the sword sold, though the plate might take a few extra days to get completed. I'll check into it for you."
"Well, suppose we best go then." Belle says getting to her feet. "I think it was about a 4 mile hike to the house."
You all get ready to go and are soon walking towards the house again. This time less people come out to watch, rumors having already gone around that the house was not all that it was made out to be. Belle sends Beauty on ahead to scout in the air, the Tressym able to be seen as it flies overhead.
At the house you come up to the place from the front, the fires that burned the rose vines along one side still smoldering somewhat, even after a couple days now.
The decrepit house sits on the highest ground in the area. Around it, a stone wall has crumbled in many places, exposing the interior grounds. An ornate metal gate lies open at the end of the road, swaying slightly in the wind. Wild flora grows throughout the inner yard, but all the years cannot hide the evidence of a well-tended garden that once sat here. Near the house, the rotted wooden roof of a water well rises out of the tall grass.
The house is 35 feet tall from ground level to roof peak; the roof is gabled and has several holes where the slate shingles are missing.
The Wall... The stone wall is 6 feet tall and more or less encloses the garden. It has partially collapsed in several places, so access to any part of the garden is simple even if you decide not to enter through the main gate.
The Garden... The alchemist kept a vegetable garden around the house, which was used as a retreat from the stress of work and as a supply of fresh food. Now, a few broken gardening tools and a tangle of weeds are all that remain.
Feanaro turns to Ogren, whom he feels the most kinship to in relation to their skill in smithing, "Can you lead us the same way you came in? I am interested to see if there are any information that may have been missed."
He pulls from his bandolier a wand made of willow wood shaped reminiscent of a miniature dowsing rod. He activates one of his artifice infusions as a Wand of Magic Detection

Rober considers the tokens already laid out for moment. Then he pulls out his abacus, does some calculations, nods, puts the abacus away.
Laying his voting chip down with those already there, he says, “I also vote to return to the house first.”

Ash nods and scans the room. "I agree. I've never been to this house, but I vote we explore the house. There could be many good stories."
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
"Aye" Durlin nods.
“Sounds like a valid mission to me”

Can I have Alex start mapping a blueprint? (What roll if needed)
Alex in surprise states, “Wow. You sure did a number on this place. Remind me to not bring you to a garden”
