Maruck will fire the arrows he had readies on his bow into the creature closest to him before firing off two more arrows in rapid succession. After his attacks he will move back towards the party to stay at range combat distance.
You fire at the first creature as it raises it's tentacles toward you and fire rapidly, arrows sinking into the fleshy mass of the brain. It screams out, a hideous noise that chills you to the bone.
You back away, but just as you reach the safety of your group, you feel the scratch of barbed tentacles on your back: Attack: 24 Damage: 7. If that hits, make a con save.
Ruvolo, Taj, you're up. You've seen two floating brains come out of the room, 10ft long tentacles barbed with long, vicious spikes raised up to strike. The nearest, with three arrows sticking out of it, has struck Maruck at the edge of it's range.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Maruck feels the barbs scrape across the back of his neck, feels the burn of poison, but manages to shrug off the effect as two of Taj’s bolts shoot into the creature, burning along the tentacles and into the brain, dropping it to the floor with a piercing squawk. Her third bolt strikes true as Ruvlo smacks his hands together and draws them back, creating a burning radiant light.

it reaches out and tries to grab Wendy Attack: 22 Damage: 14 - make a Con save
(Wendy, could you redo your last attack and give me the con save?)
Wendy’s bolts strike into the creature as its tentacles wrap around their neck, even as Minda lands two heavy blows against the brain, knocking it flying with each strike.
Wendy, you also feel the poison start to seep into your system, locking up your joints, before you’re able to overcome the effect. Maruck’s two bolts sink deep into the creature, and it drops to the floor, the tentacles losing their grip on your neck as muscle strength leaves them.
You stand in an empty corridor, two grell dead at your feet - Maruck had spotted them before they were able to hide in the darkness of the black-pillared room. The floor of that room is littered with bones - largely goblin - but there doesn’t appear to be a corridor beyond it. This is a dead end.
Minda goes across the walls, knocking on them quietly to check if any sound differently to indicate a hidden passage (investigation check: 14). She then says, "This intersection looks promising as an ambush point - having our back secure is very important."
Minda points this out to the others, "The pillars... this is disgusting. Either these two had been here for a VERY VERY long time or something more powerful has built this up."
She takes a look up and understands that the pillars were used as hiding spots for the grell.
"Stand back a bit, I'm going to smash one. Keep a look out at the intersection and see if anyone comes investigating. Anyone local would probably avoid this room completely and we may have a moment of surprise on our side. We'll find out I guess." After the others take up positions she takes her maul to one of the pillars furthest away from the door in an effort to rearrange it as a pile of bones instead.
Maruck will move back as she told him to, rubbing a bit at the sound on his back as he readies his bow once more, taking time to gather a few of his arrows.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Taj decides Minda's efforts might be accelerated with some magical assistance; after Minda swings her maul, she will hurl a flaming mote of fire at the pillar ((14 for 15 fire damage))
Fire bolt explicitly states it may be used against a creature or object.

Next round - Maruck, you’re up.
Maruck will move back once more to be further from their foes, readying his bow and firing once he feels he has a clear shot.

Minda goes across the walls, knocking on them quietly to check if any sound differently to indicate a hidden passage (investigation check: 14). She then says, "This intersection looks promising as an ambush point - having our back secure is very important."
The walls seem solid - but you do notice that the pillars are constructed from hundreds, thousands of humanoid bones, stained black and piled high.
Minda points this out to the others, "The pillars... this is disgusting. Either these two had been here for a VERY VERY long time or something more powerful has built this up."
She takes a look up and understands that the pillars were used as hiding spots for the grell.

After the others take up positions she takes her maul to one of the pillars furthest away from the door in an effort to rearrange it as a pile of bones instead.
Make an attack roll please - I don’t think you’ve any siege capabilities, so this is about hitting in the right place to bring it down cleanly.
Maruck will move back as she told him to, rubbing a bit at the sound on his back as he readies his bow once more, taking time to gather a few of his arrows.
Ruvlo moves back and readies a radiant sun bolt.
Taj decides Minda's efforts might be accelerated with some magical assistance; after Minda swings her maul, she will hurl a flaming mote of fire at the pillar ((14 for 15 fire damage))
Fire bolt explicitly states it may be used against a creature or object.
