Kront'al looks at the thing, "What do you suppose that is?"
Arcana 2 Nature 5
He will shrug his shoulders, "I have never seen its like before, and what was it that it said as it tried to fly away? Something about a lovely soul, ah..."these souls are perfect for the offering," so I wonder what, or who the offering was for?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

snilloc knows fully well that nature is not his strong suit, nor is arcana, he is good at conversations and he knows a lot about applied sword theory, swords in general, sword and metalsmithing and what advantages each technicue grants, boats, how to pilot boats how to navigate at sea using the stars, a lot about proper etiquette, but most things beyond that are not something he is too concerned about, yet he will still take a brief glance at the creature to try and figure out if he has seen something like it at sea general intelegence roll since he has no proficiencies 18
These creatures have no wings, nor can be found at sea, but you've seen this creature at shore before. It is known as the shalona (Shuh-lohn-ah), they are big, thin, fire-breathing monsters possessing long, thick, and colorful hair. They are not hostile nor (always) friendly, their (typical) alignment is Chaotic Neutral, and if you gain their trust, they'd become friendly, but its not easy. They live in tribes, witch are determined by the color of the beads tied to the bottom of their hair, shalonai believe their goddess, Kakanna, needs souls so they can reproduce, so they go out finding "perfect souls" so they can sacrifice them to Kakanna to keep their race alive.
"We still have two days until the Great Carriage Race, but I'm just staying at the Inn of Myths" Korona Village is a lot more rustic than the other towns, sconces are on every two storied tan building, making the area not seem as much like a village as you'd think, the clay roofs lay very steadily on the buildings. Markets litter the streets in a small merchant district, the Day View here looks very similar to all the other houses.
(Fruit, jewelry, butchers, and some hags are selling potions) While Dalfen is looking around, a half-orc walks up to him whispering "I've got some good magic stuff, want to take a look?"
snilloc will contine to spend time with the princess, partly to get to know her better and partly just to make shure nothing bad happens
when he is not doing that he is going to train with his rapier to hone his combat skills, if he can he is going to find someone to have non lethal sparring matches with so that he may hopefully get an second oppinon on what he is doing well and what needs work on since he feels his technique might have worsened over the course of his adventures and that he might have become a little sloppy. Who he is going to spar with is not important, as long as they share his dedication and knowledge of sword combat, maybe an veteran from the army, maybe an member of the town guard, maybe that kensei monk that left the party a while back.
if there is an postal station, he will mail that cursed ring he has back to his family's estate as to avoid him being tempted by it, he knows its cursed and will want it put away in an monter where it can be seen but not touched
(also does marrage on this island require rings of some sort? in that case he might start pondering what kind of ring to purchase, but of course no ring is available in this small town that is fit for an monarch)

(Oh, they're native to here and parts of the other five kingdoms.)
The clouds disappear without a trace and the sky fills with sunshine. After a while of traveling, you come across it: Korona Village!
Balthazar ask the princess "Where are we to escort you? Is the castle your destination?"
Lot's of stuff ...

(You have downtime until the race)
What kind of merchants are there?

"How much is a wand of polymorph and chime of opening? "
"400SG for the wand, 60SG for the chime"
Kront’al will see if there is a temple where he’ll be able to practice and meditate on ki forces.
