Grimnir, riding the dead beholder down into the pit, braces for impact, leaping up off the Beholder to cushion the blow. There's a squelching sound as the body smacks against the jagged rubble at the bottom, and the monk rolls to the side, popping up on both feet and watching Xazax for any sign of movement. There is none, and sudden quiet falls over the cavern.
In the next few minutes, the rest of the entourage is able to get up into the cavern, and begins helping the wounded and checking on the main party. Brox is safely on the edge of the it, as Oorr, Aera, and Belwar gather near her. Down below, Grimnir spots the hilt of the scimitar he saw earlier. It is remarkable for the large diamond in the pommel. As he pulls it out, he can't help but notice the sword is lighter than it should be, and there are motes of air swirling within the gems along the hilt.

Grimnir dust himself of and have another quick look around (Perception with guidance, -2 due to darkness, 2 + 4) Looking at the hugs mass, he says to himself "I think I could keep a memento, that was a hell of a fight". He draws Amanita and, with a quick swing, cuts one eyestalk and keeps it in his bag of holding To avoid difficulties, Grimnir transforms himself again into a small spider and climb back to see his friends. Morphing out in front of Belwar, he presents the weapon to him. "Belwar, could you have a look at this? I found it down below, in the pit.".
Finally, Grimnir checks on his followers and heals the ones that need healing. "You have done well, my friends. I say we camp here and replenish our strengths. I think there is no more danger here."
OOC: During the rest, if we rest here, I'd like to scry a bit on the different people we were suppose to find. And I might swap some spell."

Brox takes in one breath at a time. Then she gets up on her feet and walks over to Peebles. She pulls out her lightning javelin, that found it's aim so truely.
Then she looks at his oddly coloured leather bag and carefully checks the contents.
After that, she looks back down at the beholder. Investigation 7 or Insight +5 to see if there is something different about this creature than it should normally be.
She also goes to lay on hands on Aera and Oorr (splitting 40 HP as needed).

Grimnir, when you go to the Beholder, you notice there are two kinds of eye stalks. Nearly half of them are grafted on to the beholder. Rather than being a natural part of the creature, they look sewn on, and somewhat decayed and rotten. Upon closer look, they also seem discolored, as if they did not all come from the same place. You lop off one of the natural eye stalks. Judging by what you saw before, this one looks like it was where the Charm ray was coming from.
Belwar is able to identify the new scimitar without issue as you rest, and announce his findings. He reveals it to be a powerful weapon of elemental air. It must have once belonged to a warrior or air, that saw their dungeon delve end in the pit of the beholder long ago. It is a known as a Windborn weapon.

Inside of Peebles bags are two beholder eye stalks, the stumps still bloody from where they were carved off the body. Judging by the look of them, they once belonged to Lorthunn, the beholder that works for the Zhentarim back in Mantol-Derith. You recall Peebles going missing right after the battle in the Zhentarim camp. It seems he was gathering some trophies for his master. You can't see much of the beholder in the pit, but Grimnir can confirm that Xazax was grafting beholder eye stalks to his body, even though they served no purpose.
Oorr, you have barely ever let Eye of the Storm leave your grip since you attuned to it. It's been a constant companion and driving force to find more and more things to attack. Now, thanks ironically to the anti-magic cone of the Beholder, you have parted with it. But you still feel they attunement calling you to pick it back up. It's not a voice, but rather just a strong feeling that you need this weapon. It will help you vanquish your enemies. Is that not what a blade is for?

Grimnir sees Oorr looking strangely at his old weapon on the floor and shows to him the newfound weapon. "Look Oorr, it seems to be a weapon from the Air Elemental plane ! Can you wield it ?"

Now that the Beholder is defeated, Oorr looks confused at Eye of the Storm... Why does he feel that he is missing something? Why does he want that scimitar back? Aarakocra aren't supposed to get attached to material things. His mind now try to recall the ascensional winds far above the Great Forest...

Oorr, you reach deep into your will and resist the call of the sword, and as quickly as a dream fades, the whisper of the Eye of the Storm is gone. You no longer feel compelled to pick it up, and your attunement to the sword ends. Free of it, you can recognize it for what it is, a cursed weapon. Though the curse was a simple one, driving the wielder to ruthlessly retaliate against those that harmed them, it was disconcerting to have your will overpowered. You can safely pick the sword back up, but you warn the others that attuning to it will cause the curse to rise once more, unless it can somehow be removed.
With your mind cleared, you turn and see Grimnir wild shaping from a spider into his familiar dwarven form, and he's holding one of the most beautiful scimitars you've ever seen. It's blade gleams with a whisp of fog, and the gems on the hilt swirl with the magic of elemental air. Having just refuted the pull of a cursed weapon, you are at first hesitant, but you quickly realize the affinity for the new scimitar is not due to a curse or spell, but simply recognizing a weapon that seems made for a warrior of the air, such as yourself.
Grimnir, during that evenings's camp, you scry on one of your quests to find a lost member of the Lord's Alliance, Khaleesa Draga.
You peer into the scrying orb, then close your eyes. Images fade from black to fuzzy to clear as you see what looks like a small home. The door to the home opens, and a drow walks in, dropping a pack on the floor. You recognize that this is Khaleesa, the same image you saw in your last scry as she was purchasing weapons in a market. She moves to a desk and places a few pieces of parchment down, reading them silently, then muttering aloud to herself, "I hope this is worth it..."
After a few minutes, the drow turns towards a bed, which is really just a mattress with a single sheet. As she walks towards it, she reaches to her head, and then the drow illusion fades away as she removes a hidden hat from her head. Instead you now see a High Elf, akin to those you saw in Silverymoon. She lets out a large sigh before dropping the hat, and her cloak, and then falling face first on to the bed, apparently worn out after a long day. Moments later, the scrying image fades, but you recount what she looks like to your friends, without the disguise.
After describing the scry, Grimnir adds: "Well, that makes more sense to me now. She is not a drow but is in a large Drow city. She does not seem in danger at the moment and has a mean to disguise herself. I am not sure how to contact her, we cannot disguise ourselves and we probably be shot on sight in that city. I hate Drows.... "
Grimnir then spend some time scrying for some of his followers that wants to check up on their families, trying to keep their moral up. He then scries once more, to find the person of interest that Brox described ; a certain Sladis Vadir.
A high elf sits on a ledge, dangling his feet into the running water of an underground stream. He hums to himself as he nibbles on some bit of meat. He tosses the remains into the running water, then reaches into backpack. His harm disappears into the side pocket, much deeper than it should be able to, and he pulls out another object. To your disgust, it appears to be a severed foot. "Oh, delightful," purrs Sladis. "I do so love the toes." He proceeds to eat it, and then the scry ends, thankfully before you vomit. You manage to catch one more detail as the image fades. Behind Sladis is a large door, that looks very similar to the secret doors around Manto-Derith, which you left behind a tenday ago.
Finally, Grimnir focusses on Stool and his myconids friends and check up on them. This last scry drained all Grimnir's energy and, exhausted he crashes on his mat and fall into a deep sleep.
You focus on Sovereign Basidia. Last you saw them, they warned you against reentering the Neverlight Grove. Sovereign Phylo, now completely beholden to Zuggtmoy had turned the Myconid against each other. Basidia, and those loyal to them, retreated to safety and to rebuild.
When you scry on Basidia now, you see them traveling down a long tunnel. The other Myconid are still with them, and you spot Stool, and Rumpadump and a few other familiar fungal faces. The tunnel emerges into a large open cavern, and soon abuts water, that stretches into darkness. You recognize this as the Dark Lake. Basidia stops suddenly and calls the Myconid back along the wall where they all stop and look as still as possible. You recognize the camouflage technique as they try to appear as regular fungus. In the lake, you see a keepboat drift by. Duergar stand along it, wearing the Stone Guard regalia of the guards of Gracklstugh. The boat passes, and they don't seem to notice Basidia and the others. When the boat is fully past, the Myconids reemerge and continue their journey along the lake shore.
They appear to be heading South away from the grove, but towards what, you're not certain.
While finding some rest after the battle against beholder, Oorr, now free from the influence of the cursed scimitar, thinks about what to do with it. Bringing it along would be quite risky for the party. They are already fighting against madness, literally and figuratively, another mind-controlling item is too much of a burden.
Tossing Eye of the Storm up in the air, make it spin many times, Oorr lets it fall into the pit.
"It matters not how narrow the caverns, how charged with punishments the spells, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul."
Resting in such a place was not so hard as he thought it would be. After concerting with his group, Grimnir calls out his followers. "It seems we have located one of the targets the Emerald Enclave was looking for. After lots of thinking , it seems that the best course of action is to send a small group to find this Sladis, as we cannot posponed our journey to hte Stone Librairy. Three of each group should be enough to secure the target. Bring him home and report to Gauntlgrym. I will keep an eye on you during your journey by scrying. Be ready to be called upon, we will contact you when we need your help."
After a pause to see if any of the soldiers had a question, Grimnir describes Sladis and adds "Be on your guard, though. This Sladis seems deranged and I think I saw him eating a humanoid foot. Be safe!"
Grimnir then prepare his backpack and look after Rocky, his pet basilisk. Since the last couple of weeks, it grew big and cannot fit anymore in Grimnir's bag. The party has now a basilisk walking along with them.
After choosing who to send on the mission, you finish your long rest in the cavern, and then strike camp and continue following the ring west. Some of the followers that remain seem a little jealous of those that got to go on the new mission.
You trudge through dark and empty tunnels, winding through the Underdark. The ring pulls steadily, navigating what you hope is a direct path, having learned your lesson against shortcuts with Peebles. After five days, you come across a small cavern littered with the remains of giant fire beetles. Normally aglow, you almost stepped right onto them, as closer inspection reveals the fire glands have died out.

They are heading West, in the same general direction as your party.

The room appears empty, save for the beetles, and their various scattered parts. You move closer to inspect one, and find that its fire glands, which usually give the fire beetles their glowing appearance, have been ripped out of it. The rest of the bug has been discarded. A creature, or several creatures, judging by the tracks that Oorr found, seems to have killed the fire beetles. You don't know of many creatures that prey on fire beetles, let alone the hottest and most difficult part of the beetle to attack.
