Your attacks hit the jelly without much trouble, as it is unable to move or withstand even basic attacks. It takes the damage, as it slides steadily onward in your direction. (OJ 1: 35/45)
Valrish unsheathes his longsword and holds it strongly with both hands, closing a bit on the jellies (20ft) and preparing to strike. (Ready action to attack the first jelly to enter my reach, plus Rage as bonus action)
(OOC: posting the rolls now)
To hit: 10, 9 (rolling twice in case the one from the ceiling fall on me, thus having disadvantage for the roll against it). Damage: 9
Valrish steps in front of the group, readying his longsword as the slimes approach.
A few crossbow bolts fly out from behind you, as members of your group keep their distance. One or two miss, but one bolt strikes each of the creatures. Each takes 5 damage.
OOC: I just read that these jellys have immunity againdt slashing and if they get hit by slashing or lightning damage they divide shit
Unless he's fought them before, Valrish may not know that though. How about you roll a Nature check to see if you may have heard about this. If you have, I'll let you change your action.
OOC Don't worry, it's cool. If Valrish sees it dividing, I don't think he'll do the same twice. But what I would like to know is if I could use my longsword as a blunt improvised weapon, hitting with the handle and holding the blade without cutting myself. And if so, could I add my strength bonus to it? If not, I'd may as well use my fists.
The frost coats the skin of the Ochre Jelly (Con Save: 10 Cold Damage: 6) causing it to harden slightly, impairing its ability to attack as it reaches Valrish. As it reaches the dragonborn, Valrish slices down through the middle of the Jelly, and it instantly separates into two, and each one attacks him!
Each one, covered in a layer of frost, is too slow, and Valrish easily dodges the attacks. The jelly on the ceiling uses its movement to advance further, but stays stuck to the stone.

(OOG Yes, you can do that, and use your STR, but as an improvised weapon it will be a d4 damage dice. So it will be +STR to hit, and 1d4+STR damage.)
The jellies don't seem to be very hard to hit, but they certainly are taking a beating. The bolts from the cross bows, while doing some damage, also dissolve in the acidic slime of the ooze. (OJ 1.1 takes 4 damage)
"By Moradin... they are multiplying !!!" Grimnir is focusing his attention on the badly hurt Jello (1.1):
Crossbow: 22 ; damage 8
edit: Yesss, that's a great shot !!!!
Grimnir's bolt flies directly in to the center of the split ooze. The slime wraps around the bolt violently, dissolving it, but burning itself up in the process. (0/12)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Valrish, seeing his wiggly foe divide, decides to try something else. He quickly grips his sword's blade and swings the handle at the remaining jelly.
Longsword (improvised): 11; damage: 6
(OOC I just watched the horizon Walker subclass vid, and with the demons part I remembered this campaign. It's a shame it wasn't out before we started - or reached 3rd level, for the matter)
I rolled my attack earlier: 4 damage on the same ochre jelly

Oorr is surprised that now they have to deal with two smaller oozes. He aims at the closer between these two: to hit 17, damage 4
