Stepping beyond the break in the wall, Austin tests out her knee darkvision, bestowed upon her, by the grace of a goddess, through the faithful hands of a goliath. Austin perception: 2
Unfortunately while looking around the room, the new sense was apparently a bit too overwhelming. She slips on something on the floor and falls to the ground. However, she did not hit with the expected ‘thus’ of meeting a hard surface. Rather she landed with a squish, and slowly sank a few inches. A brownish spongy mush, that smelled terrible.
It was at this point that Austin, and anyone in the party, noticed that the floor to this throne room, appeared to be covered with an uneven layer of what seemed quick possibly to be excrement.
Nack sheepishly looked around before whispering “Shit happens?”

Clenching his nose from the smell, Anearis stepped forward after Austin. "Ms Austin? Are you alright?" He took care to watch his footing as to not make any "unfortunate misteps".
Not awaiting for a response, Anearis tried to move somewhat closer to the throne to get a better view of the one sitting there.

Ura drops her finger and sighs in relief. "I was asking that thing a question. It didn't answer me... which is a good sign," she tells the dwarf. Looking up at the shadows overhead, Ura decides to join the shadows down below, and tries to gingerly step over the fragrant floor and meld into the darkness along the wall.
Stealth: 10
Whether she succeeded or not, she'd creep towards the figure on the throne, stopping when she could make out its features before getting too close to it.
Viilgahan snickered through his maw, the noise sounding something between a hiss and a hock. He disguised it as he clacked his tongue against the roof of his mouth twice, suddenly quite aware of the almost palpable taste that accompanies such smells as the one emanating from the room. ...Now that's one big pile of shit... With another gesture the light in his lantern snuffed itself out of existence. "If there is that amount of..." he blinked. "...foulness. Perhaps a lit flame is the last thing we want to have pass beyond the hole." he shrugged.
"Conversely I could just light the room on fire." he nudged the dwarf and made a gesture with his hands, as if balancing two things out.
Austin is somewhat glad of the darkness, since she hoped it hid the flush that was surely coloring her fair skin as she leveraged herself back up to her feet. She grimaced, then sighed, a soft musical chuckle slipping free. "Best watch your step..." She cautions the others, amusement still filling her voice.
Ura successfully fades into the shadows, especially as once inside the throne room, darkness surrounds them all.
As both Anearis and Ura attempt to investigate the throne closer, making their way halfway through the room (approximately 25 feet north of the hole), but still unable to discern much detail. Both of the elves inches close enough to see that the figure on the throne was indeed solid and humanoid. But it was ultimately featureless and completely motionless, even as the two neared it.
Nik watched, with the rest of the party as Anearis and Ura did this, but responded to Viilgahan in a whisper “They really tryin n wake somethin that makes this much?” He motioned towards the floor. As he does so, a sickening plop sound comes from somewhere near the south end western wall. “Damn elf shoulda heeded his own words. Think stayin here is a bad idea. If they wanna be fools, I suggest tha rest of us make for the lower level.”
A flap of wings sounds of somewhere above the group, beyond the black cloud that blocks their view of the ceiling.
Ura looks up and thinks of the bat. She also thinks of revenge for a brief moment. The figure on the throne, however, is not D‘Armes‘s corpse, which is all she really needed to see. Motioning to Anaeris, she shrugs and points back towards the others. Still, she gives the throne one last glance, wondering why anyone would want to sculpt a figure with no features whatsoever on the throne.
Maybe it‘s not a sculpture, the thought occurs. Maybe the Black Beast of Arrrgh can melt faces off. Well, that‘s an uncomfortable thought. Grimacing, she begins to creep back to the others, taking a care to remain hidden.
(Believe Austin's darkvision is limitless, so she should be able to see the ceiling... Let me know if I am mistaken.)
Austin glances up at the sound of the wings, trying to see what is up there. She grips her quarterstaff, wondering if another fight is in the offing, as well as what creature had made this place its home.
When Austin looks up at the sound, even with her darkvision, she see that he view is limited. It’s not limited due to the lack of light, but instead a thick black fog or cloud is within the room, taking up the space between the ceiling and approximately 15 feet or so above the floor.
((Yes, the darkvision wouldn’t be limited by a distance, but is obstructed at about 15 feet when looking up.))
Uthal looks in from the entrance and sees the fog. When he does he draws his hammer again and looks around to the others. "Seems like we might have that same fog from town again. Last time it brought unwelcome company and my bet is it will do the same here."

"What sort of bad company was that?" Austin asks, eyeing the fog with a wary look. She then glances to the others. "We talking of the type of company you have to remind to wipe their feet, or the kind that needs to be beaten to a pulp then thrown back out the door?"
"Undead. And specifically some sort of flying creature. Undead as well. Seemed like a bat but in the chaos it wasn't really a priority to figure that out." Uthal steps down with the others, careful to keep the dwarf on his shoulder in a position where he could be easily shielded if something came down from the mist.

Having listened to what Uthal was saying about the fog and the types of creatures it brings, Nik chimed in. “Why you all debatin’ this? Seems straight forward ‘nough ...Oh no...” Nik began walking towards the hole in the floor. “I’m falling into a hole n outta the undead bat crappin’ grounds.” After a few seconds, Nik was gone, having casually walked down a slope made of rubble into whatever lay below the throne room floor. A voice though soon echoed up. “Ay, Giant. Since ya got Nack, can you come down too? Last thin’ I need Is splain’n to mum why he got carried off.”
Ander stepped in between Uthal and Austin, squinting his eyes in an effort to see through the dark. “Foolishness aside, he may be right. Can’t see much, but I’d rather know what’s directly over my head.”
Anearis began walking back to the others, making sure not to step into any nastiness again. The figure on the throne seemed to be nothing more than a statue to Anearis. It was time to get back on track.
"Agreed." Viilgahan whispered back, following Nik as he moved down the slope as well. Once below, Viilgahan gestured and his lantern flickered into life again. He waited a few heartbeats and then the radius of light increased two-fold. "Let us risk a little light down here, for those of us who can't see what we might soon to step in." His eyes would have to adjust, but perhaps a glance might prove interesting.
Ura's successful hiding among the shadows may have been more effective against a creature relying on sight.
While although Anearis managed to safely traverse the guano covered floor, keeping his footing as he made his way back to the group, Ura was not so lucky. Slipping on the mess, Ura catches herself by grabbing onto a cloth banner hanging on the wall, but years of neglect and exposure to elements left the hardware holding the banner to the wall weakened. Even with Ura's light weight, the banner tugged on the brackets and as the banner fell, so to did chunks of the inner wall, hitting the ground around her and echoing through out the throne room.
This echo set off a chain reaction of sounds that nearly started instantaneously. The flap of wings grew loud and could be felt in the air around the room. A loud screech vibrated in the ear drums of the party members who had not yet made it down below(Ura, Anearis, and Ander). Not the screech of one bat, but of many.
While the sound continued, two large hairy creatures, with enormous waxy wings landed immediately behind Ura, both lunging at her.

While one missed and simply snapped at the air. The other's fangs dug deep into Ura's right shoulder, holding her in place.

Uthal turns and heads back up when he hears the crash, trying to find out what happened. When he sees the bats he places the unconscious dwarf down beside his brother and runs up, trying to hold the bat on Ura to the ground.
