Anearis picked up his coins during the conversation as the barman didn’t seem interested and Austin didn’t seem to want to question him further. He listened at the explanation for the brasier with interest.
"I managed to get the last one. Though I figure not all of us will fit inside. Do not worry. I will sleep outside. I prefer that anyway."
He looks outside at the bats barbecue. While the sight and stench of it is repulsive, he looks more concerned with the possibility of running into one during their travel.
"Those are the creatures that wounded you back then, are they not? I believe this is a good riddance, and I pray we do not encounter more on our travel. Speaking of, barman, since you cross so many that have hunted these things, any advice on how best to deal with them?"
He then looks around the bar, trying to find something. "Where is Current?"
Uthal shrugs. "She was nearby. Probably just talking. And as for a fighting pit, why would I need to go to one of those when I could just smack one of the two of you in the face and feel the same amount of stress relief?" He says as he gives a mocking smile down to Nik and Nak. He then turns to Atal. "Apparently in the south if you want to punch someone in the face you need to have a fancy name. Silly tradition. You need to earn names for the things you do, not just have one given to you. That's not even my given name anyways."

The cloaked man returned behind the bar, now sans the hide armor, and was pouring drinks when Anearis made the inquiry. "My name is not barman. You can call me Rutger, or there are those who call me the Woodsman, either would do. The bat creatures don't hunt by sight," he continued while still pouring and occasionally looking Anearis's way. "They use other senses. Take them away and you'll always have the advantage." He finished serving and returned back in front of the party. "It's last call. You all ordering anything or just standing around until the torches are snuffed?"
At this point in time it was well after midnight, though the crowd still seemed relatively lively.
"Hmpf, Destroyer my butt." Nack muttered under his breath.
Nik elbowed his brother, but speaks with a soured tone towards Uthal. "Trying to make the biggin some money, Nack." "Yeah." "But our good will only goes so far, don't it, Nack." "Yeah." "We can tell when we're not wanted. C'mon Nack, let's go see if any fights're still happenin." Nik walks off, though it takes Nack a bit to notice. And looks around for his brother before one final rushed, "Yeah." And runs off as well.
Uthal watches them go. "I swear that one could run head first into a rock and the rock would take more brain damage. As for me, I'm just standing around. I can sleep outside as well, the cold is no bother to me."

"Your friend there just paid for the last one." The Woodsman motions towards Anearis. "They're in the rear, close to the tree line. But don't worry, nothings going to attack you from the woods."
„Thanks, Anaeris. I‘ll take you up on that room offer,“ Atal says. „I hate camping. The rest of you be careful anyway, if you‘re staying outside. Maybe if the bats return, practice dwarf-tossing. The screams should keep you safe.“
"I'll take the room, with whomever wants to share it with me." Austin says with a nod. "Camping out has become a bit less than pleasant of late, and I'd like a roof over my head at least for a night." She'll head off with whomever else is sharing the room with her.
Off in her own world, Current doesn't quite notice the rest of the group having a discussion with the barman, Rutger, until they are almost done. Even when Anearis calls her name, she just looks up for a second and then returns to her thoughts. Finally, seeing the rest of the group file off, Current will head with Austin towards the room (if there is room). Otherwise, she will go outside and layout her bedroll next to the others.
Filing back out, the party had to circle around the Lodge to find their rented room for the night. Before having left the bar, Rutger also provided Anearis with a iron key that had a small piece of bark on it, like a keychain. The bark had the number "4" etched into it. "Just leave the key in the room, come morning."
Behind the Lodge, we're more campsites, all in all with at least 2 dozen tents. Closer to the Lodge, in fact almost against its rear wall was a circle of people yelling and cheering. The crowd included two dwarfs stacked on each other, Nik on Nack, seemingly so that at least one could see what they all surrounded.
The 'rooms' were no so much rooms as they were log walled circular tents near the edge of the forest. There was enough room between the five tents and the rest of the campsites that the noise wouldn't be a bother.
Each tent identical to the next, with the exception of the numbers 1 through 5. The logs were vertically sticking out of the ground in a circle with an approximate diameter of 25 feet. The interior of the tent had an earthen ground floor and a single pole in the center that held up the tarp like tented roof. At the opposite end, from the door was a fireplace and smoke stack leading out of the tent. Aside from the firepit the room also contained a round table, four short bench seats, and four large hammocks, evenly space around the room. Each hammock was covered in a number of large furs, creating nest-like sleeping arrangements.
Anearis begins preparing for his meditative trance, when he considers the nature of the room they rented.
‘’This seems like it will do for the night, but should we still have someone on watch? I do not trust the patrons of this inn, nor the area to be safe enough.’’
Current raises her hand sheepishly, "I can take the last watch. Even though I can't see that well in the dark, hopefully, there will be a little light by then."

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
"I can aid in whatever watch is needing it." Austin says with a shrug. "As with Current, I won't be able to see much in the darkness, but I'll help where I can."
"That's not a problem,"Atal says, handing over his lantern to Austin. "Though the oil might run out. Ask the bartender if he's got any more if you run low, I've only got three flasks to spare and I'm guessing we'll be needing this again."
From outside the 'room' as the party rotated through standing watch, the other camp sites in the clearing were in view. Other parties came and went to the other 'rooms' though none specifically of any particular note. The same went for the groups camping about the clearing. Randomly people came and went, though everyone seemed to be just concerned with their own business. Not a single moment went by when there wasn't at least one Lodge patron or another awake and going about. There was a regular consistency of the Gnoll, Wulf, walking around, in no particular path. Horse, wagons, and carts were in general view, but grouped in a separate part of the clearing, away from the sites.
The dwarfs joined the rest of the party soon thereafter, passing out in half-made sleeping arrangements, on the ground outside. It was nearly 2:00 in the morning when the party turned in, and only 5 hours later, the sun began to rise. As it did, Nik stirred and stumbled back toward the Lodge, leaving Nack where he rested.
As the dawn rises, Anearis rises from his meditative trance, rested. He leaves the key in the "room" as the Woodsman had instructed before stepping outside and beginning his morning stretches.
Ura comes out of her trance, blinking, and then watches Anearis leave to his morning exercises. She shakes her head slightly. "Why bother working when the road will work us hard enough on its own?" As if to prove her point, she stands up and winces, her legs feeling terrible from having ridden the horse this far already. "Ouch! Ow! Okay! Okay, maybe some stretching is in order!" she groans, as she leaves to begin her own set of less-than graceful, odd-looking "limber up for more painful horse-riding" thigh and butt stretches.

"Best be settling in for the night." Austin says with a yawn. She looks to the Woodsman. "Any rooms left to be had?" She asks.

Uthal sits nearby with his small prayer book, slowly thumbing through and quietly mouthing the words to himself.
