Ura's hammer stopped the wall from closing completely. The open crack was to thin for someone or something to possibly pass through completely; however it was wide enough for one to look through. When the wall stopped moving, one of the dwarf's eyes peered through the Crack. "What's the big idea? We need to close this."
The moving wall was approximately six inches thick and seemed to be built the same as those on either side of the tunnel, a solid block of stone. Physical strength could push the weight of the door, but breaking it down would require more blunt force than Uthal would be capable of mustering.
The ground on the party's side of this door/wall had scuff marks and drag lines in a thin layer of dust, indicating that it had been used in the same manner previously, but not often, and otherwise normally remained undisturbed. There was no means on this side to grip it, so it would be extremely challenging for Uthal, to pull it open from this side, once it was closed.
Through the crack of an opening, created by Ura wedging the hammer, Uthal could see a lip on the otherwise, where the goliath and dwarf still stood, which showed him that the wall would not be moved that way, if the party were to push on it. There was no obvious devices on the otherwise, that the party saw when passing through, so how exactly the dwarf and goliath were pulling it shut, was unknown.
Frustration showed upon the visible sliver of the dwarf's face through the crack, and echoed the same in his voice. "There's no opening it from that side. It's a one way trip, an' we gotta close it up, so the underground isn't discovered by the City guards."
"Just let them close it." Austin says to her companions. "It isn't like we can find our way out of here by ourselves anyway." She reminds them. "We either get out the way we are going, or else we are in deep trouble. That was a given as soon as we agreed to this."
Uthal holds off Ura for just a second, trying to get the measure of their erstwhile guides and see if they are being true in their words about only closing the tunnel to prevent discovery.

"Does it matter if they are tricking us or not?" Austin says with a frown. "Even if they are we aren't getting out of here without moving forward. We'd have to fight those two, then find our way back out through a maze we have no way to navigate. Let's just move on and get this done with."
Before Ura removed her hammer from the wall, allowing it to shut and cutting them off from the 'guides' that were to bring them to their contact in the city, Uthal attempted to reason if proceeding forward was in fact the best option.
Carefully he analyzed the potential motivations and outcomes:
They were in a city where they couldn't trust people, surrounded by enemies, in a maze of tunnels with which they were unfamiliar. Nik and Nack said that they would be the ones to meet the group at the tavern, yet those two mysterious figures showed up and quickly sought to take the group into an enclosed space away from the eyes of the public and potential witnesses. Though the two did say they worked for the Old Man, and they knew Nik and Nack's names. But if they work for the old man, they were most likely criminals and thieves, and if motivated by coin, could be turning them over to the authorities for either a fee or for leniency of their own activities. But then again, since leaving the northern mountains above Cathaan, none of the other goliath's he had met had necessarily lied to him. However, the goliath didn't say much, and it was the dwarf who did all the talking. And there was the time in Cathaan when the goliath bartender, Otok, had him go through a door which led to several thugs attempting to mug Uthal. Although it was never clear if Otok knew what was going to happen, or if he unwittingly passed Uthal bad information. Not to mention it could have all been a test before they met members of the Cathaan thieves guild, and this could always be a test prior to meeting members of the Wutai thieves guild.
If Ura had kept the hammer in the door, the party would still be at a disadvantage to force it back open, and then more so in tight corners if they confronted the dwarf and the goliath. If the dwarf and goliath meant them harm, did they have reinforcements, traps, unknown advantages. If they didn't and this was a test would it ruin the party's chances of furthering their endeavors with their new potential contact. What would this mean about the well-being of Nik and Nack? (a likely very fleeting thought)
In the end, Uthal ultimately came to the conclusion of having absolutely no insight as to what the party should do, and was left to Austin's stance on continuing further as the only logical avenue, especially after Ura removed her hammer.
The path led around a corner to the right, after which the party came to another stretch of about 20 feet of straight tunnel before yet another corner this time turning left. Nearing the corner, the party began to hear the trickle of water, followed by a person's grunt or clearing their throat. Both sounds appeared to be coming from just around the corner.
Anearis begins approaching the corner of the tunnel, slowly, so he could react should anything try to harm him or his companion. Once he reaches the corner, he would take a peak to see what awaits them.
Seemingly oblivious to the woodelf peering around the corner, a stumbling figure takes a swig from a bottle while he finishes relieving himself against the tunnel wall. A small lantern that gave off a glow of only a few feet of light, sat on the ground at the man's feet, and half in the pool of piss that formed there.
The man's back was to Anearis, but by the shifting and the actions taken, he was likely drunk. His clothing was common and bulky, a coat and a pair of pants, and extremely wrinkled with well worn and dirty spots about it. He swayed as he stood there.
Anearis had successfully identified the source of both sounds that the party had heard.
Uthal hefts his hammer and waits for one of the others to move first, knowing that his style of diplomacy likely won't go well if that's what's required.

Ura peers out and spots the man. Then grins summons her invisible mage hand, sending it to approach the man. The mage hand snuffs the candle on the lantern out.
She follows it up immediately with a message whispered in her spookiest voice, which is not really all that spooky (Performance: 6): "And just what do we have here, hmm?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Unfortunately, the message did not have the 'spooky' desired effect that Ura, had intended, though it did seem to catch the man off guard.

The man whipped around haphazardly, catching himself to face the direction of the corner which the party was still behind. Drool shown at the corner of his mouth and he nearly toppled over.
He was an elf, or atleast half. Wearing an open jacket and a button up shirt, undone at the top. The collars of both the jacket and shirt were popped, rigidly standing up. A dark stain soaked the left breast of the shirt and the jacket sleeves went down past his wrists as if intended for someone with longer arms.
"Eh. Who's there, then?"
He picked up the lantern and as he brought it to shoulder height, holding it straight out, he lit it again.
"Easy, brother," Ura said, holding up her hands and coming out. "Just having a bit of fun - same as you, apparently. Still, this seems like a piss poor place to end up drunk, if you ask me. What brings you down here?"
The man squinted and wore a snarl-like lip expression, as Ura stepped from behind the corner. His irrate attitude didn't leave as he listened, or as he spoke in response. "I'll piss an' be poor wherever I damn well please!" His common speech was slurred and he continued to wobble slightly as he stood there. "This is where I'm spending my night. Warm down here."
He paused, though continued with the stare, before starting up again, as if his body had paused for a second, for his mind to catch up. "Who are you and what d'ya want?"
"Us? We're just looking for the Old Man," Ura says casually, shrugging. "If you don't have any pointers about that, you might find yourself with company down here. Trust me, I've slept in worse."She grimaces a little as she says it, because sadly, this is the absolute truth.
"An old man? How old you talking? Wa- what d'ya mean us?"
The confused and irrate inebriated man held the lantern higher, stepping forward, as steadily as he could so that the faint lantern light shone over Ura's shoulder. Only a few feet from Ura, he looked past her into the dark, where the rest of the party stood or still remained behind the corner.
Uthal mutters something to himself about stupidity and steps forward. "Monsters." He says before looking down to Ura. "The drunkard knows nothing. Leave him to his stupor and let's be done with it." He pushes past and forwards, looking to continue on his way. As he moves past he gives the man a hard stare down from as much height as his stooped position will allow.

The drunk stumbled back and ducked around Uthal's hulking figure. Attempting to move on and proceed past the drunk, Uthal found himself facing him yet again, as the man seemed to now more deliberately block the path.
"You come in MY house and push ME around. I don't think so." He continued rocking unbalanced and set down the lantern, before putting up his fists to challenge Uthal. "Who sent you?" He slurred, this time followed by a stiffled hiccup.
While the thick jacket hide the exact nature, there were at least two bulges beneath it, around the waste that due to rough outlines, Uthal could discern were quite possibly blades of some type. The man however seemed very much the part of a drunk. He looked like one, sounded like one, and with that proximity Uthal could tell he smelled like one. As best the goliath could tell, he was what he appeared.
Ura's hammer stopped the wall from closing completely. The open crack was to thin for someone or something to possibly pass through completely; however it was wide enough for one to look through. "Oi, geniuses. Tell us how to open the wall on this side in case we need to get out," Ura says, annoyed. "Some of us are new here."
Frustration showed upon the visible sliver of the dwarf's face through the crack, and echoed the same in his voice. "There's no opening it from that side. It's a one way trip, an' we gotta close it up, so the underground isn't discovered by the City guards."
