Kel attempts to grapple the burning creature, with the intent to move it past Ander and away from the stairwell. The smoke and fire were getting bad, they would have to end this quickly or risk losing more than just Ander.

Forgoing his normal push and poke strategy, Kel resorted to simply grabbing Z4 and carry him down the stairs and past where Ander’s body last laid.

Kel takes 8 fire damage.

As Kel moves the creature down the stairs, he is the first to come to face to exactly how bad the ground floor had gotten. The zombie corpses, as well as the floor boards were all on fire. The fire stretched down the hallway towards the armory, though Kel could not see exactly how far. On the other end, the flames blocked the door from the hallway to the map room.

As Kel moves the creature into the flames, past Ander, it is realized to, that the human himself, is also on fire.

Seeing the way is clear Uthal moves down the stairs. He scoops up Ander and retreats with him, patting out the flames once they're upstairs. 

Strength: 14

Uthal successfully retrieves Ander, taking 8 in the process.

Ander death save: 10

The burning charred skeleton of Z4 attacks Kel: 7 Damage: 6 + 1 fire damage

Z4 takes 5 fire damage.

Z4: 9

Ura, seeing the way is finally clear, grabs a spare blanket off of one of the empty beds.  Stopping by Uthal, she drops the clerk's pack of dynamite by him - "Don't think it's a wise idea for me to carry this down into the fire," she tells him breathlessly, before running downstairs.  She stops short in shock on seeing the extend of the fire damage.  Well, shit.  I've got to buy us some time, she curses in her head, pushing her way through the flames towards the armory.  Once through, she smothers the ones that were closest to reaching the cache of weapons - and potentially more dynamite.

Action: smother some flames
Bonus Action: dash if needed to be able to reach the "end" of the flaming area near the armory and stop the flames from that side, working inwards

"Ashes to ashes..." Kel muttered to the unheard echoing rattle of the undead that crumbled in his hands. He let the creatures remains fall to the floor. The fire on the ground floor of the barracks was teetering on the edge of getting out of control. He caught a glimpse of Ura heading toward the armory as she rushed past him, attempting to smother the flames from that end. She collapsed. ...oh no... 

"UTHAL!" Kel yelled up the stairwell before moving to where Ura fell. With yet another loss the situation had become untenable. Somehow Uthal and he would have to move bodies to the 3rd floor and if the entire sodding town wasn't made out of matchsticks, maybe get them to the wall. Unlikely. ...first things first...deal with it if you make it out... Kel attempted to pick up Ura's body and move her back up the stairs to the dwindling safety of the barracks made of sawdust and hay.

Uthal places his hand on Ander, muttering more giant. spare the dying He then moves off to grab a blanket and comes back to assess the state of the fire on the stairs. 

Ura DEX saves, as she moves through fire:

20, 12, 16, 11

Ura takes 7 fire damage from moving through the flames, to the grid outside the armory door. While successfully putting the fire out at that end, she takes additional 5 fire damage.

Ura falls to the floor, in a now non-flaming part of the hallway.

Kel DEX saves, for movement through fire:

14, 10, 3, 1, 13, 20

 As Kel moves through the flames toward Kel, he suffered 23, (though halved due to his natural tiefling resistance.) Holding the elf aloft, he managed to carry her body back up the stair well, suffering only another 6 fire damage.

Temp Hp: 8

Ander is now stable and unconscious for the next 4 hours.

Ura death save: 14

The fire brought his chainmail to a boil, the heat intense, reminding him of a similar pain years ago during the Forging. He did now as he did then and blocked it out as best he could. As he reached the second floor and slipped past the barricade he let out a breath, exhaling the heat that had been building up in his lungs. He stooped to reclaim his pike and stow it one handed. Still lugging Ura, he turned to Uthal.

"We have to go to the wall. The barracks will be engulfed in flames if it doesn't explode first. Grab who you can." He nodded his head toward Ura. "Can you put her at ease?" 

Uthal looks at Ura. "I can but it may be best to get a bit further away first. He still has a bit of time." He then looks and quickly grabs Ander, heading to the wall.

Uthal manages to carry Ander to the 3rd floor.

Round 11:

Ura death save: 3

Kel carries Ura to 3rd floor

Uthal carries Ander towards exit.

Round 12:

Ura death save: 6

Kel carries Ura toward Exit.

Uthal uses spare the dying. Ura is stable.

Kel nods and moves as fast as he can, while still holding on to Ura, up to the third floor. With a quick glance around the room to orient himself to where the Wall would be Kel moves towards the door.

Uthal looks at Ura as Kel reaches him and then reaches out, muttering again and casts spare the dying. He gently puts Ander down and heads back down the stairs. "Gonna grab the elf." 

Ura is stable and unconscious for the next 2 hours
Kel found the door to the wall to be unlocked. Safely he delivers Ura to the cold stone, leaving her against the parapet. As he steps back inside he finds Uthal coming up the stairs with Anearis.

While Uthal was on the second floor, he noticed that the fire had crept its way up the staircase between the first and second floor.

Uthal hands Anaeris to Kel before picking up Ander and bringing him to beside Ura. "If we want the guard we don't have much time."

(After 3 turns) Ander and Anearis we’re both deposited alongside Ura and Kel and Uthal return to the second floor to find, the fire had spread. It had not yet reached the bunk where Sergeant York lay, but the clerk’s boots were aflame. 

Uthal stifles a bit of a laugh and heads over to grab the Sergeant. He gestures down to the clerk as he heads back up. "Take him or leave him. He's proved he's just dead weight." 

Kel grumbles, but picks up the clerk. Then an awfully wicked idea comes to his mind and he smiles to himself. "He will have his use." He follows Uthal out.
