Mold Earth and Stone Shape - we sure we can't just seal the floor off and use wind and fire spells to deprive it of oxygen, then use Reverse Gravity on the corpse?
As far as meta gaming goes, it’s a bit hard not to when you understand every spell and potion is available to us.
Im not at the point where I want to commit suicide or stay in the castle forever so my reasoning is all about making the Tarrasque fly.
I am familiar with a lot of spells because I’ve been casting spells for a long time and have played a level 20 character in a 2 year long campaign so in that sense, it was meta-gaming for me to know what reverse gravity does and how it works. On the other hand, the DM made us aware that spellbooks and spell scrolls were abundant in the library so Quin could have just read about the spells doing research. So can anybody else. We should all be in the library looking at spells.
There seems to be a lot of talk about how to kill the Tarrasque but I’m more interested in making him fly. And that’s the only way I can think of.
To get Reverse Gravity to work, all we have to do is caste it on him before he kills us. His chances of saving against it are very low owing to the fact that the only way he can save against it is to try to hold on to something that would keep him from falling, and it calls for a dex save, his worst chance of saving. Plus physics. If he weighs 130,000 pounds and tries to stop himself from flying up, I don’t believe there’s anything in his room that could hold him on the way up.

As far as meta gaming goes, it’s a bit hard not to when you understand every spell and potion is available to us.
(( OOC: Yeah, I was just being a bit cheeky. As long as we're not doing stuff like throwing bags of holding into bags of holding to destroy the thing, I think it's all good. ))
(( EDIT: In case you're wondering why that's a bad thing: Bag of Holding ))
Mold Earth and Stone Shape - we sure we can't just seal the floor off and use wind and fire spells to deprive it of oxygen, then use Reverse Gravity on the corpse?
(( If we have Wall of Stone, or multiple people casting Walls of Force, I'd say we had a shot at it. But the creature's of Gargantuan size; I don't think we'd be able to seal it in within a reasonable time frame with lower level spells. Even using Wall of Stone might take two to four hours (rough estimate) to completely seal the thing in, since you've got to let the spell run through it's 10-minute duration before the walls become permanent. ))
"And what if the tarrasque succeeds on his throw?" said Galerius. "It is improbable, but not impossible."
"Hopefully, we'll just be able to cast it again, if we survive another few seconds," replied Onyx. "I think we have multiple scrolls of each spell available to us."
"Hmm. Both? Those will probably wind up being the same thing. Hopefully we won't even get to that point; but if we do, it'll still be later in the conflict.
"While the summoned creatures cast their spells at it to wear it down, us spellcasters will be trying to buff you fighters up as best we can; THEN, after that, we can start trying to 'make it fly,' while you run interference if needed."
"And what if 'falling up' doesn't count as flying? I would prefer having a back up plan just in case," Hatch said. "Before we try anything, I want just one more good, viable option."
"Er..no offense, but can someone simplify this out for me? I cant keep up."
"Im not sure what a Tarrasque is." Lok continued
"There is quite a lot being thrown around. A Tarrasque is an incredibly large creature, [paraphrasing here because I can't find the quote] almost like a wingless dragon, with a thick hide like a tortoise's shell on its' back. There are many legends about the creature, but yes, it is very powerful and would be impossible to defeat without a plan. So far, from what I can tell- and please, correct me if I'm wrong,- Our main plans so far are: Kill the Tarrasque with suffocation, then attempt to make its corpse fly using something like Reverse Gravity, try to make it fly without killing it, using spells to make it fall in some way, or turning it into a creature that can fly."
"I would like to mention I'm sorry for what has happened to you, Hatch, and if this is bringing up memories."
"There is the issue of its ability to defy magic three times a day. Instead of attacking it to remove these, we could just use Onyx's plan to attempt to charm it with a variety of spells? Once it's used up that ability, it's only resistant, and, luck be with us, we can charm it. It will be dangerous, as we'll wake it doing so, but with the supplies we have, I believe we can do it. Depending on the strength of the spell, we'll have time to decide how we want to make it fly from what we've learned by facing it. While killing it, as Hatch suggested, would ensure our safety, I would hate to have that not meet the criteria of the riddle. Unless we used some kind of necromancy spell to bring it under our control once dead... I also fear that using Reverse Gravity or removing the floor from beneath might classify as falling, and not flying. However, using Quin's spell Fly, we can be certain it's flying, and once we can convince it to be willing in some way, we're free." Once the final word left her mouth, Lia felt a renewed sense of vigour surge through her.
"Right. Sorry, I've been zoning in and out between research. On that note, I don't think my plan will work. All the necromancy spells I can find can either only target creatures up to a certain size, or only work on humanoids, which doesn't really suit our needs. Unless anybody has found something?"
"Fly, Polymorph and Reverse Gravity seem like the only viable options if we want to actually get the monster to fly. I suggest trying all of them at once, since there will be more than one spellcaster anyway. That way we try to solve the riddle as quickly as possible."
Onyx hesitated. He didn't like the next part. "As far as a backup plan, there really isn't one. We'd spend hours trying to trap it well enough to suffocate it, and even IF we managed that, I don't think it'll stay asleep while we light fires next to it. We could try to drop the floor from under it, but that could easily kill everyone in the hotel, since they'll be unable to evacuate. Try to kill it? I suppose that's an option, if a highly unlikely one. But that's all we've got, and I fear none of them really look promising.
"And since I'd rather not kill the other residents, if we must choose one of those for a 'failsafe', I'd opt for a quick death via fighting the creature." He shrugged non-comittally. "That's just me."
"My only objection to polymorph is that it has advantage on saving against it and a +9 to Wisdom checks so it will really be hard to polymorph it. I mean, we could try as long as we have all taken a potion of invulnerability. Because once we wake him up, he's probably going to be awake for a while. If we can find a potion of spell that gives us advantage against while casting polymorph, it would even out and he would have a straight +9 on his wisdom save against our spell DC. There could be a potion or a spell that gives advantage temporarily but we will have to hunt for it. And then we could polymorph it into something like a bumblebee that can *only* fly."

"Fly is my favorite choice. Since it has to be willing, we just need to make sure that it wants to fly. Maybe an illusion of something that it wants to get to and needs to fly to reach? That's plan A. Plan B is Reverse Gravity, where we whittle away that defiance ability it has first."
"So, is there an image that can be conjured high above its head that its lizard brain will find so desirable that it would rather ignore us and do anything to obtain? We should redouble our efforts to search through the lore to find a sweet-tooth or a potential longing that this unique beast might have."
Throm thinks some more. "Maybe a second flying Tarrasque! Maybe it would see it as a rival that it would refuse to tolerate and insist on fighting, or possibly a potential mate. I wonder if the urge to procreate is built into the Tarrasque?"
Throm sits back down unsure if anything he is saying is helpful.
"Well, I can cast Major Image, so if an incentive is truly needed, we can have one. Unfortunately, I would need to concentrate on it, which would limit both the spells I could use for the primary effect of flying, and the spells I could use for supporting the fighters."
The warlock shrugged. "Only so much intellect to go around," he lamented, giving a wry grin as if he'd said something terribly clever.
Quickly resuming a more serious tone, he continued, "So I can cast Fly, and if our first batch of spells fail, True Polymorph afterwards. I might have some sort of image in the sky going, depending on the situation once we reach that point--mainly how aggressive he is toward us, instead of our summoned minions. For example, if I have one of our fighters invisible, and it looks like it would be lethal to drop it, I'm just going to cast Fly without the illusory bait and hope for the best.
"Since I can't cast Reverse Gravity, or Polymorph, someone else will need to cast those, and whatever else might stick on the second batch of spells if nothing succeeds on the first try.
"And I think I'll probably summon a pixie for the initial strike; they can use both Fly and Polymorph to wear down his resistance, so we might even get lucky and not need to get near the monster ourselves. Wouldn't bet on that though, since I can only summon one."

Galerius needed to heal up, so he went to his room and took a long rest.
[8 hours pass by]
Galerius went back up to the library
"Hopefully, we'll just be able to cast it again, if we survive another few seconds," replied Onyx. "I think we have multiple scrolls of each spell available to us."
