@Krom and @Daemyar - roll me a straight d20 each please.
R1K - 15 R2D - 9
So Ithelion is standing at the top, about 60 feet away and Garnet is occupied going down the rope - she's got about 50 feet to go. I'll assume she uses all her actions for movement to get down to where Daemyar and Krom are.
Ithelion thanks the gods of luck for the training of her youth, and knocks an arrow, shooting at the most wounded of the rats (or at least the one that others tried to hit).
Attack: 7 Damage: 9
In case she has advantage (unseen?), one more attack roll: 12
((Y’all are nearly there - no worries I am keeping track. Most of the monsters so far don’t spew a ton of xp.))
Going clockwise it’s Rat 1, 2, and 3
Daemyar hits the rat (2) with a sickening thud and it staggers. It’s is gravely wounded. Rat 1 moves to attack Daemyar, Attack: 13 Damage: 6 ***the rat gets within Daemyar’s guard but the hobgoblin is able to deftly redirect the bite with his bow
Rat 2 - the one Daemyar hit - just chitters loudly and takes off down the stairs, limping badly. It uses all of its movement to get the heck away.
The sickening crack of bones emanates across the ledge, echoing out into the darkness beyond, as Krom’s hammer comes down on Rat 3. Ithelion’s arrow from above pins it to the floor, ending its wretched life.
Garnet moves further and is more than halfway down by now.
Ithelion does indeed climb down, wrinkling her nose at the bodies of the rats. She smiles at Krom and nods, "Not spiders. Definitely an improvment."
She glances around the bare platform and makes a quick mental note on any notable details for the maps she plans to draw, as she absent-mindedly brushes dust off her sleeves. (( Based on the map it looks empty )). After checking that her gear is stll secure after the climb, she makes ready to move on.
"There seems to be only one way to go..." she says, showing no signs whatsoever of leading.
The ledge is dusty and worn, with bits and pieces of rubble that have fallen here and there. There is a campfire in the middle and one set of stairs leading downwards. Poking in around the ashes of the campfire reveal some bones and what look like arrow heads - crudely made. The stairs are only about 5 feet wide and rather treacherous, so you'd need to go single-file.....marching order?
Garnet shifted one of the dead rats with her boot just to make sure it was dead. "Gross"
Standing at the ledge she carefully peered over the side. Mysterious stairs into the deep, Garnet was suddenly very thankful for her new dark vision goggles.
" Well, Daeymar if you have no problems with heights maybe you can go first? I figure your agility will come in handy leading the way and natural darkvison."
(wooden or stone stairs? I agree with the order Ithelion suggested unless someone wants to change it. )
The stairs are hewn from the rock itself. Daemyar leads the way down the first set of stairs, followed by Krom and Ithelion and Garnet, with Elosa flitting here and there through the darkness.
Ithelion, make a survival check please, with advantage.
The map looks as below, from where you are currently. The stairs from the ledge head to another small landing about 20 feet below where you are currently. Looking over you see another set of switchback stairs that lead to yet another landing, and you just make out some more stairs that lead further into the gloom.
Just let me know what you want to do on the way....otherwise, we can assume you keep going at a normal speed.
(Krom's Initiative: 14)
"At least they ain't giant spiders."
Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
Daemyar laughs at Keon’s joke. “Agreed. Now try to keep the noise down, I’m certain there are worse things to wake up down here.”

Daemyar draws his bow and fires at the middle rat.

Movement: Move up to rat 3
Action: Attack rat 3 with his warhammer using two hands, Attack: 18 Damage: 6 Bludgeoning

As above, Ithelion moves to a position where she can sight a living rat (if there are any!), and fires.
The sickening crack of bones emanates across the ledge, echoing out into the darkness beyond, as Krom’s hammer comes down on Rat 3. Ithelion’s arrow from above pins it to the floor, ending its wretched life.

One rat remains, in melee range with Daemyar.

Attack: 6 Damage: 7

Daemyar's sword stab bisects the beleaguered rat, slicing it into a mess of intestines, fur, and teeth.
You are alone on the ledge. Garnet makes her way to the ledge as well. Ithelion - guessing you make your way down?
What would you like to do now?

Daemyar
Krom
Ithelion with Elosa flitting from perches (if availalable) as they go lower
Garnet
Are there walls either sides of the stairs, or a long drop (ie. is the map a cut-away view, or are we really climbing down a pinacle)? ))
[ill get a map up here soon but there is a wall on one side only; the other side is empty space.]
