Ithelion purses her lips and shakes her head. Despite being cleaned before she rested, her clothes are once again gathering spores and grime. "Finishing our work here is the solution to that particular problem." And a bath. How long ago did we leave the inn? It feels like months. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before speaking again, this time to everyone, but huddled together and in hushed tones.
"We must be nearing our destination, so we should discuss our plans. Krom suggested using oil on the tree. This may still be a good plan, but if the spores are as we were warned -- and mushrooms are near the tree -- then perhaps we should reconsider. What does everyone think? I can light the oil...but should I? Are there better, or safer, options?"

“There is little choice but to keep going. Anything else makes this… a waste. We must keep going.” Daemyar will prepare to get the next door, hands empty so he can react best once he sees beyond it, wrapped in his ragged cloak.
Shere states "Remind me, why do we need the fruit? It will only extend the futurre life and influence of the trree.."
ooc: I missed that part.
The adventurers found out that the tree produces one fruit each season (summer/winter). At the time of ripening it can be picked off the tree and it is given to the goblins to sell. Yes, this is how it reproduces. The summer fruit cures any disease, deformity, and increases the life and vitality of one who eats it. The winter fruit does the opposite. There might be some of you in the party that could really use the fruit for personal goals or reasons.... You have been tasked by Kerowyn Hucrele to find out what happened to her twins, who went into the depths a while ago with a cleric of Pelor. Your overall task, as given to you by a mysterious being you know as Adathar, was to cleanse the area of the growing darkness and misery. It seems the tree (and whatever else) is emanating and growing a cloud of rot, death, and decay around the area. It is slowly spreading its foul taint to the countryside, resulting in agitated, deformed, and increasingly aggressive creatures coming out of hiding to prey on the people. The mayor of the town has also given you an offer to return the fruit to him, or bring him information of where exactly the tree is. He also offered you rewards for goblin ears.
The kobolds want their dragon back, the goblins have fled the ruins. It's been a while since you've been to the kobolds but you'd guess they probably will have started to move into goblin territory by now...Along the way, you've also uncovered maps, writings, and information about some strange dwarven city or settlement old - something called Khandrukar and a legendary dwarven figure called Durgeddin the Black.
[I may have missed something, but that's the gist of it.]
Daemyar, you pad up to the door and take a look. This wooden door isn't locked as far as you can tell. You don't hear anything from beyond. You open the door carefully and a whoosh of stale air hits you. There is a faint smell of decay that finds your nose.
[What's the marching order here, folks?]
You peek in the doorway and notice an approximately 50-foot narrow hallway that opens up to a large area after about 30 feet. From where you are at the doorway, you cannot see into that area, but you do see a soft red glow that illuminates some of the area in dim light. Everything else is complete darkness inside, with a soft low light behind you from some of the fungi. There is no fungi or shrooms or anything like that growing in this room (that you can see).
How do you wish to proceed/what do you do?
MAP for visual reference. You are the red x, looking over into the room over Daemyar in your typical scooby do fashion.

19/15....Daemyar, you pad carefully and silently 30 feet or so down the hall, Elosa in your shoulder, checking the floor the best you can in the dim light. Nothing catches your attention. You stop at the corner and peer in the larger room. 10 feet behind you, Krom and Ithelion linger, their eyes also not picking anything up in the gloom. They don’t see anything that Daemyar dies below yet. Behind them stands Shere and picking up the rear is the be-goggled Genasi, gripping her long sword tightly.
Dragon-carved granite blocks line this chamber's walls and ceiling, though many are crumbled and broken, leaving stony debris on the floor. A huge marble statue of a rearing dragon stands in the curve of the western wall. The eye sockets of the dragon are empty, but a red glow lingers there, providing reddish light throughout the chamber. The radiance casts an inky shadow behind the statue's wide wings. A five-foot-diameter, circular tile of dark stone is set in the floor in front of the dragon statue. Runes are carved around the circular tile's inner edge.
You all see the reddish glow that makes everything have a reddish tinge to it except for the shadow cast by the statue. It is considered dim light but the only color you see is red.
"Give him space, he knows what he's doing" says Ithelion as she eyes the bulky and noisy dwarf. When Daemyar stops at the door, she crouches down and resumes observing though Elosa's eyes and ears. As they continue forward, Ithelion occasionally pauses to share Elosa's senses, and instructs Elosa to warn her if she senses anything more worrying than normal.
Shere quietly says "Rrunes are usually a dwarrves thing I think. If we don't mess arround with this and go into the otherr rroom I could rritual cast detect magic"
So based on the above I assume you are all moved up In the short hallway and looking into the Room? Or is Daemyar moving back to tell you what he has seen?

"Can anyone make out those runes?" Garnet looks up at the dragon and down at the floor, watches forward and the back door, on alert.

Before setting out from the room Krom would have seen if anyone wanted their armor or weapon blessed.
Krom shrugs, "Most of the runes in here be in draconic, seein' all the dragon themes and such."
Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
ooc: If it's actually writen in Draconic, then Ithelion can just read it.
So based on the above I assume you are all moved up In the short hallway and looking into the Room? Or is Daemyar moving back to tell you what he has seen?

Once Daemyar signals that it seems to be safe, and Elosa has not reported any issues, Ithelion would move up to Daemyar.
