OOC: just to clarify, after staying spread out through the last two rooms, and then some us moving to look at the shelf closer, we’re all surprised and caught in a cone that covers 7-8 squares?
OOC: in retrospect I think Midnight and Harok would have been just on the cusp of the breathe weapon so no damage for them!!

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Wuldric will cast hex on the beast with his bonus action, targeting its strength. He then will take two shots at it.
Attack 1: 25 Damage: 11 piercing and 2 cold and another 6 piercing
Attack 2: 16 Damage: 14 piercing and 3 cold and another 2 piercing
Since we're level six now, my brand of castigation comes into play! As the first arrow hits the manticore, arcane runes flow throughout the beast's body. Whenever it hits me or someone within 5 feet of me, it takes 3 psychic damage.
As a bonus action, Feldspar drinks his ]potion of greater healing, regaining 14 hit points.
For his action, he casts mind spike on the chimera using a 3rd level spell slot. Damage: 22. The chimera can save for 1/2 damage with a Wisdom save vs. DC 14.
And because we're now 6th-level, my Expert Divination trait comes into play, allowing me to regain a spell slot of a lower level whenever I cast a divination spell. Feldspar thus regains the 2nd-level slot he expended earlier.
(( I'm assuming I'm supposed to be 5th and not 6th, and I didn't mess up somehow. Note to self: next time, read private messages before game thread. ))
Midnight will dart to F5 and put her back against the wall, trying to avoid being hit by the deadly blasts of fiery breath along with anyone else. Pointing at a point in the air in front of the chimera, she'll call out to her goddess to reveal her enemy and attempt to surround it with faerie fire. It will need to make a DC14 Dex save or be surrounded with purple flames (giving everyone advantage on attack rolls).
OOC: Point of order as the map states there is no 'wall' along the bottomless chasm; it is just a bottomless chasm with the possibility of stumbling in standing on the edge.
Chimera's saves Feldspar's mind spike 4; Midnight's faerie fire 2; fails both
When visible again all attacks on chimera have advantage!!
Medb takes out her bow staking off the burning fire as she BA calls on her Unseelie fey ancestors imbuing her bow with dark psychic energies for two attacks if hit the beast takes an additional d6 of psychic damage Attack 1: 25 Damage: 6 if hits extra 1l Attack 2: 30 Damage: 6 if hits extra 5
Chimera taking these hits exhales another dragon's breath upon the same grouping of party members failed to save against a DEX save DC 15 takes 28 or half as much damage on a successful one.; swooping over them before retreating back into the darkness of the ledge no longer visible to the party without them gaining height/ground.
As the honeycomb puddles begin to move as skeletal remains begin to emerge from the puddles along the C and F grid. Perception check to notice them entering the battlefield at a disadvantage from anyone who took fire damage. (They will join the initiative in round 2 before Medb and the Chimera)
Milo will retreat inside the hallway, where we came from at -1A6 and use his bonus action to drink a potion and his action to use collect his Ki and heal some of his burns.
Greater Healing Potion: 12
Wholeness of Body: At 6th level, you gain the ability to heal yourself. As an action, you can regain hit points equal to three times your monk level (=18). You must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.
Elijah will move to Milo's former position at B 8 and cast a level 3 cure wounds on Milo for21 and an additional 5 disciple of life feature for a total healing of Milo for : 26 Hp
Also, Elijah will gain 5hp for his blessed healer ability
OOC: Did Harok, Milo, and Feldspar add the 5 HP from the aid ? It lasts for 8hrs and raises HP maximum by 5 - it's not temp hp and you can be healed 5 over your normal max
Milo doesn't know, he might not have even noticed them as he's being harried by the Chimera's fire breathe. Roll perception with disadvantage due to the fire attack.

First D&D set: 1980 red box. Haven't stopped playing since. :)
Milo is a bit faster then Elijah, so he will heal himself before Elijah can react. Milo still got a few bruises, but doesn‘t look to bad. I am sure other people look worse at the moment (Wuldric for example).
Since Milo has done some healing on himself Elijah will notice Wuldric is looking pretty beat up and apply the 26 HP of healing on him.
OOC: It happened; I usually don't allow retcon but I will this once. If an action is posted I like to keep it as true as if it was said around a table. PbP I realize it is a gamble but just for future reference! Everyone keep track of damage and healing too, please!!

Harok will use full movement to go to F9 and hold a crossbow attack for when he sees the chimera.
Moving passed the space occupied by the skeleton at C10 it takes an AoO against Harok from C10: 20 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.; but critical fails dropping it's shortsword on the ground with a clatter.
Dex Save 23
Initiative 22
"This is it! No turning back now."
Dex save: 24
imitative: 21
OOC: The hexagons are the pools of water. The chimera is 30ft in the air. There's only one opening at A5/6 there is a solid wall from A7 thru A13.
