OOC: I thought the prior observation established the “cages” were set up to enclose the chamber ahead, but weren’t currently occupied. If that understanding is correct, Jairus relates this to Tyde. If not then we likely would investigate the occupants of said cages further before going elsewhere.

Jairus's best guess is that the chains raise and lower the cages seen in the next corridor.
"If we're headed east, then I suppose I'll lower the rest of these chains to hamper any further forces from coming in. At the very least, they'll make a racket trying to get to us. Any objections?"
Kethra gestures to Jairus and Symon, to talk to them away from the young boy's listening ear. "Help me prop up the once floating table so that it'll block the north. We'll tilt it sideways! So any more of them coming in will need to pull it back and make a loud sound to alert us...or if they try to vault over it, it'll fall over and make a loud sound anyways. There ought to be some oil to help keep the chains maintained around here, so that'll help make it slippery...if not we'll rub some off a cloak and wipe the part of table touching the wall with it. Hehe."
Once that conversation is done, Kethra then whistles the boy over. "Hey kid, tell me all you know about 'Believers', 'Delvers' and 'Woe-bringers'. Is Mr. Waelver with any of them? He owns one of the two wagon shops of Red Larch, doesn't he?"
“Sounds like a solid plan, Kethra,” Jairus says. “It’s a different way to be quieter than the other guys - make them louder. Like settin’ a noise maker to catch critters creeping around. I like it.” Jairus will aid with setting up the terrain in this manner before they go to investigate the eastern path they previously did not explore.

"Thanks Jairus! I got the idea from Rubin, actually. He's always complaining about loud sounds. Rubin, are you fine with letting these cages down? Cover your ears, hehe."
Regardless of that decision and if there's no oil container in the room (for the chains), Kethra starts to take off the cloak she was wearing, but with her now pale blue eyes glances at Jairus wearing a matching cloak. Sighing, she takes out her old cloak to wipe down the oiled chains to soak it with chain oil.
"Soooo...as far as we can tell, the 'Believers' are connected to the town, but they may not even be connected to the Woe Br...deranged outdoorsmen! Right, Symon?" Kethra laughs, and gestures at Symon to move the table with her and Jairus' help. If we need to roll, Kethra will give Symon the Help action. "That explains why the half-orc was so confused when Mr. Tyde started talking about human sacrifices! I wonder if they're enemies."
The sound of the chains being shaken and rattled is enough to get Davian very much on edge. Looking around tentatively he edges closer to the doorway back to the previous room, wanting to put distance between himself and the noise.

Rubin shrugs, loud noises have never really been an issue for him, as long as he was not making them. He moves back from the chains and keeps watch as the others continue fiddling with them. As he does so he would move to the previous door and keep his post there, watching the room they traversed previously to make sure no one is sneaking up behind them.
(What table are you trying to move? There's nothing resembling a table in this room.)
OOC: I am not sure about the reference to the formerly floating table, specifically, but the idea of dropping the cages now to cut off a means of access and possibly slow or block pursuers, and using whatever available bulky items that are present to set up crude barricades and/or things would would make noise when pursuers attempt to pass made sense to Jairus, so he would have assisted Kethra in doing this with whatever was available, and suitable, prior to the group's exit to explore the eastern passage they had not previously explored.

There are some rocks you can move in front of the door.
OOC: I assume that aligns closely enough with Kethra's intentions for creating noisy and hazardous terrain at most entrances so we are unlikely to be caught offguard by pursuers, prior to leaving to explore the unexplored eastern passage.
(What table are you trying to move? There's nothing resembling a table in this room.)
((Whatever the heck Kethra was talking about lol. I just assumed I missed something.))
OOC: I think in general we use some objects to block or impede some doorways, lower the chains, and call it about as "secured" as it can be before going to check out the eastern room, in essence. That was my take on Kethra's post.
Here's a map of what you've explored so far. Each square is 10 feet, you're currently in room T7. The black square is what you haven't explored yet.
(The dashed circle in room T1 is the sinkhole you came down from. You then went down T2, took the bottom door (into the toilet), then the top door. T5 was the rat room, T6 was the floating stone room. Hopefully this makes it easier to understand the layout.)
But it's not super important, I just wanted to make sure everyone felt involved. The 10 probably wouldn't be enough to move it, so I'll move the rocks from the big room to the north of T7, using the new grease cloth so that their sides are slippery and harder to push ( ´ ▽ ` )b

"East is fine with me." Rubin says, nodding his agreement with that plan.

(This was previously established, yes. Tyde also didn't hear anything.)
Are you going through the eastern door in the previous room, then?

Symon arches an eyebrow but finds it hard to argue against such an upbeat tome. Still clutching his burning scimitars, he attempts to move the table.

(Not surprising, lol.)

I'm referring to T6, the "floating stone" room. Symon looking it over concluded that it could be an altar, so in my head I pictured a flat-topped rock or a "floating table". When Mr. Tyde asked someone to move it, Rubin drew back yet gave Kethra sass when she moved it. So now Kethra's teasing him about it loool.
Sorry for the confusion, everyone!

OOC: I think so, if it connects to that large black square area on the map above, aka the unexplored area, that is the plan.
