(I forgot that we established that Baltor can comunicate with you. In my minds eye familiars take on the trait of the beast they are, so an owl would not be able to say "The man in the yellow hat" neither can a framiliar.)

Baltor comunicates that the Magus went to the old school and that a halfling followed him from a distance but split off and when up the hill to the cliff where they are waiting.

Talinian nods then conveys the information to the others.  Then he looks at Mia first.  "What do you think we should do?"  He trusts the quiet warrior the most when it comes to tactical decisions.

Which way do we want to go?

Talinian will send Baltor to watch the halfling and the rest of us will go meet the Magus.  He will be very careful and looking for traps and an ambush.

Baltor gets to the Halfling about the same time you get to the Magus.

"Were you seen?  The Hunters are being worse than normal.  We always help them, hell we use them when Mages go rouge, but they would not tell me anything, only that Talinian is wanted for murder in Caprivigia, I told them that you have have not left Towleigh so there must clearly be a mistake. Their leader, Jaem insests that you are wanted.  Mia, they are claiming you too are a murderer, but your crimes are from their own home town...."

Before Celenwe can finish his statment Talinian you get a message telling you that the Halfling is talking into a rock about you all, and is now getting ready to attack.

This is when a blast of fire intrups Celenwe, landing just in the middle of everyone.

Bones hangs back a little to let Talinian do the talking and since these mages don't like necromancy and the like, especially given his experience with death. As the fire blast erupts, he quickly picks himself up to look around for the source of the magic and readies himself for the next (Perception: 10).

Bones there is a cliff that you can see and can assume it came from the top of the cliff.

Did the halfling send that fireball, Talinian asks Baltor calmly.  He had refrained from dodging and there was no time to warn the others.  He too looks around and listens too.

Perception 14

"Jaem is a figure from my past.  His parents hated mine, hated all tieflings, and when Jaem was burned in that accident, his father tried to murder mine and died for his hatred.  However, I never killed anyone there though many did die.  There's even a chance I was convicted since only the haters were left to tell the authorities what happened."

Turning to look at the cliff, he pulls out a scroll and reads it, a shimmer forming around him.  "Come on out, Jaem.  Time at last to stop being a coward."

Baltor confirms that it was the halfling and that he is readying another attack.

"Perhaps we should move, hmm?" Bones says to the others as he watches the cliff top.

Not forgetting that she too was being hunted, Mialee would keep a cautious eye out in the opposing directions while Bones and Talinian have the others. With Talinian taking out a scroll, the silent warrior would cast a songs blessing on the three of them just in case. She'd then look for safe cover to direct them to that may be suitable for Bone's suggestion to move.

Bones being the party member not wanted, the mage hunter targets Bones with his heavy crossbow Attack: 10 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

(Not going to bother rerolling the messed up damage seeing as a 10 misses.

Bones flinches as the bolt thuds into the ground beside him & growls. “We’d better come up with a plan soon!” He looks around for any paths of escape. “Whether your mate friends brought the hunters here or not is something we can figure out later! Right now we need to get away & regroup on better grounds!”

Sorry I missed it, its about 80-90 feet away from you and about 50 feet up.

"Take cover," the tiefling wizard says as he leaps into the air.  "I will deal with the attackers above."

He flies upwards, scanning for attackers, looking out for nets or other means of restraining a flyer, even another flyer.

Perception 6, Flying up for 30'

Baltor, let me know if he or anyone else goes to attack again. Or if you see anything important.

If he can see the attacker as he flies up, he will take a shot with his light crossbow.

I will say that because of Baltor you know where he is, but because of your perception you would have disadvantage on the attack.
