Topsy raises her eyebrows just as Turvy furrows his.
"Old fountain?" Topsy think-speaks back. "While that sounds interesting, we are looking for a way to keep moving toward safety. Is that a passage or another dead end?"
Topsy appears to consider Glabbagool's response, then suddenly looks stricken. She turns her wide eyes on Turvy. "We're trapped in here. There's no way out!"
"Well, then I'm eating your brother first..."Ront says to Topsy, eyeing up Turvey and licking his lips.
Then he laughs hard, the noise booming in the confined passages. "Hah! I tricked you!!" he gins, fangs standing out more than usual. He then picks the northernmost parallel passage and heads down it. "Follow or take the other ones. I'm sick of standing around!"
She turns her wide eyes on Turvy. "We're trapped in here. There's no way out!"
Shuushar turns to Turvey “do not give up hope little one. It is true that Vah jo peedit hai teaches us that it is only by being challenged we learn what our true strengths are. However I am sure that he would not place us in a situation that no matter what we do or how hard we tried it would not change the outcome!"
Topsy glares at Ront's back as he walks away, then turns to look pleadingly at Shuushar. "Are you sure? What do you think Vah jo peedit hai is trying to teach you now?"
Turvy palms his iron bar and follows Ront, his eyes picking out various vulnerable spots on the orc's legs and lower back.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
He then picks the northernmost parallel passage and heads down it. "Follow or take the other ones. I'm sick of standing around!"
Ront then leads off down the northernmost passageway. About 10 feet before the passageway turns to the southwest he feels the flagstones under his feet move. In a valiant effort (DC 11 - dEX 9) he attempts to leap to safety and grab the edge of what proves to be a pit but unfortunately he falls into a 10 foot deep pit taking 5 of bludgeoning damage. As he lies there a bit stunned he realises that the wall, or at least some sort of black substance on it, is starting to move towards him.
The party can act first. As far as I can work out Turvey is next to the edge of the pit - after that I'm not actually sure of the party order and would appreciate guidance.
"Here!" Topsy says, throwing one end of her spider web rope down into the pit. Turvy grabs hold of the rope beside his sister as well and nods to the next person to do the same. Hopefully, between the three of them, they can keep from being pulled in as Ront climbs up.
Six spots the new threat moving towards the orc and sends a blast of eldritch energy towards it, then grabs the rope to help pull Ront up. Attack: 7 Damage: 9
Ront shakes his head, seeing little canaries twirling around his head...and as his vision clears he spots the new slime moving towards him. Just as he is grabbing for the mace to try and fight it off, a thin rope flies over the edge and he hears Topsy's voice. Looking back at the thing oozing towards him, Ront quickly tosses his mace up and then grabs the rope and starts climbing. Athletics: 19
Once at the top, he says, "Damn, that really hurt..."
Six spots the new threat moving towards the orc and sends a blast of eldritch energy towards it, then grabs the rope to help pull Ront up.
Even though the blast doesn't hit the pseudopods it retreats all the same. Ront then utilises the reteat as an opportunity to quickly climb out of the pit. As he stands on the edge of the pit he feels a hand rest on his shoulder and then a sense of warmth suffuses his body (5 plus 11). As he turns in surprise Shuushar simply says "Vah jo peedit hai blessing upon you.
Ront only shrugs, mumbles something about being a good trap-finder, and leads the dwindling group down a different passage. Six walks near the back of the group, continuing his mental conversation with the sentient cube. (Guess we'll try the next passage?)
Ront leads the party down the next corridor. He has travelled about 15 feet when 3 once again he feels the flagstones move under his feet he feels the flagstones under his feet move. In a valiant effort (DC 11 - 21) he attempts to leap backward to safety and this time manages to do so successfully "see I told youse I was a good trap finder" he says with a grin.

(Can we give the DM Inspiration for nailing our characters?!! =D)
"Come on, then. How many darn pits can there be?" This time Ront moves a bit slower, looking for tripwires or strange markings on the floor that look like traps...Perception: 22
Six now walks behind the clumsy orc, using his own superior vision to look for traps as they check out the next corridor. Perception: 6
(OOC: Sorry guys I was travelling and previous post didn't save/upload)
As Ront leads the leads the party down the next corridor. He has traveled about 15 feet and is about to step on a flagstone when Six grabs his shoulder and says "don't - can't you see that that area has been weakened?"
(OOC: In order to keep this part of the module flowing I'm going to have to interpret - as best I can - player intentions and take some decisions that in an non-PbP game would be made by the players around the table.)
"Right let's try the next one then?" Ront suggests and once again leads the party down the final corridor. After he has traveled about 15 feet, Six hisses "STOP! the next flagstone you're about to step on has also been weakened.""Bugger"Ront says in response "how in Grumash's name are we supposed to get out of this place?"
It is now about an hour since the party first entered this complex and the water that is covering the floor is close to a foot deep.
"Right, well, now that we now where the traps are, let's spring 'em and see if we can't climb down, and then back up the far side to keep going. Don't wanna wait for the whole dang place to flood!" Ront says to the group. He then moves back to the last trapped area and uses his mace to smash the floor in an attempt to make it collapse.
Before anybody can stop him or even suggest it may not be a good idea Ront heads back down the corridor and smashes the floor of the trapped area. As expected the floor collapses but expecting it to do so Ront is able to land on his feet at the bottom of the pit in some sort of dark squidgy substance. Pseudopods then start to form from the substance and move menacingly towards Ront.
Ront has initiative so .....?
At the same time everybody hears Glabagool's voice in their head "go away spawn of darkness you will not hurt my friends!"Anybody who looks around - I suspect somebody will - spots that Glabagool has now positioned himself in such a way as he/she/it can block the first corridor.
Topsy raises her eyebrows just as Turvy furrows his.
"Old fountain?" Topsy think-speaks back. "While that sounds interesting, we are looking for a way to keep moving toward safety. Is that a passage or another dead end?"
Again the party hears the voice of Glabbagool in their heads "one called Topsy I do not know if it will provide you with exit you seek?"

If we wanted to keep going, is there a way around the pit?
It would require scaling the wall.

"I think we should take another corridor," Topsy says. After Turvy mumbles something darkly, she nods. "Yes, and we should be more careful."
