Karib shrugs and, with a last glance at the creatures in the pit, follows the others out of the room, careful to avoid the trap. He still feels weakened by the poison from the last trap and is anxious not to repeat the experience. As they move forward he continues to look around warily.
The lamplight from the room to the right side is shifting slightly, but seems to be natural flickering.
For Yevele:
Thin mattresses of straw covered with badly cured furs form small beds that are haphazardly positioned around the chamber. Rats and small lizards scurry through the food scraps and moldy wine skins littering the floor.
A dozen kobolds are sleeping and lounging within the room. Around half of them have wings folded up against themselves. They don't seem to be especially alert and have not noticed you peering into the room.
While Yevele cautiously peers into the chamber to the right, Rogram slowly and quietly moves ahead to the next stairway. The stairs look to level out ahead in the narrow tunnel.
OOC: Not assuming any further movement from Karib or Smoke here since Rogram moved forward stealthily.
Once he realizes Rogram is attempting to be stealth, Karib will wait impatiently at a safe distance, fidgeting with his staff, and looking nervously down into the pit and back the way they came.
Yevele will pull back from the room, and put her finger to her lips. She points back toward the room, and mouths "kobolds" and holds both hands up with all ten fingers showing, followed by two fingers.
Karib's eyes narrow and he nods slowly, muttering a prayer under his breath as the staff seems to grow a few viscious knots and become a great deal more sturdy. He raises his eyebrows questioningly to Yevele, making a short swing with his staff. Onwards, or retreat, he mouths.
Yevele shrugs her shoulders in response, and looks over to Rogram to see if he noticed this exchange. The monk will then motion at the party, and bring her fists together like trapping the party between them.
Smoke watches the corridor to their left, not seeing any movement he turns to see what the others are doing. With Yevele mouthing to warm the group of the kobolds Smoke grips his daggers firmly.
He understands Yevele's warning, if they proceed they might end up trapped between two groups. He motions with his arm raising his dagger and bringing down the hilt to simulate knocking them out.
Karib looks a little confused by the gesture. He was only semi-conscious a lot of the time, and does not really know the layout, but he's not sure how they would be surrounded, or if the gesture meant something else...perhaps she meant that there are too many of the kobolds? He's happy to be alive, and happy to work with his rescuers, but underlying it all is the fear that hatchlings are unlikely to be good for the people of nearby towns. His grip tightens on his staff, then relaxes.
"I'd see this den cleansed for the sake of the townsfolk, but you all know your strengths better than I. Perhaps their numbers are too great...I'll abide by any decision." He looks more closely at his new companions, wondering what they had been through before they rescued him and if they are truly now at the limit of their endurance.
While the others deliberate, Rogram ascends the stairway where it levels out and continues forward for another twenty feet. At that point, the tunnel begins to descend again, a long and twisting stairway of stone cut into the floor.
What is this maze? Rogram thinks, growing even more impatient. Where is Pa? Hardly around here, but I can't look for him until we finish searching this place. He pushes forward, his sword arm beginning to itch to start swinging.
With a shake of her head, Yevele begins to move after Rogram, thinking to herself 'That dwarf is going to get us killed. He is all but charging from one battle to another. He could use a little patience. As Lao Te liked to say, five minutes spent meditating on a problem saves the hour spent removing misplaced nails.' As they move forward, the monk will regularly look behind them to make sure none of the kobolds are sneaking up behind them.
Rogram hears the clattering of Karib's armor as he ascends the stairs with Smoke and Yevele cautiously. The stairway levels out for a short time as the group catches up to Rogram, where the stairs descend again, twisting through the stone tunnel ahead into darkness.
Despite some noise from Karib, it appears that you have not yet attracted the attention of any kobolds from the previous chamber.
Moving through the stairway Smoke stops as he hears Karibs armor clatter. He turns to Karib and shakes his head. Then looks behind the group and towards the front.
Once the silence returns he moves further up unsure if they were heard.
Smoke will go to the front of the group but will make sure they are close behind him before he continues. Checking the descending stairs for traps before they move into the darkness again. If it seems safe he will try to move forward silently and get a glimpse of the room at the end of the stairs.
Rogram remains prepared to attack or to be attacked, with both his shield and sword held before him. He continues moving forward, frowning a little as Smoke overtakes him, but he simply speeds up a little to keep in step with the tabaxi.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Smoke Perception: 10
The stairway seems clear of traps ahead, and Smoke and Rogram lead the party through a turn to see a much larger chamber ahead. Flickering light fills the room ahead with dim light, but not much of the room itself can be seen as of yet. The chamber appears to have been enlarged and reshaped from its original form, and the floors and walls that can be seen are smooth. The air near the room feels warm and humid.
Smoke moves to position himself just before the stairway opens up to the chamber ahead. Having a dagger in hand he moves his other hand to signal Rogram After you to tell him Smoke will follow his lead
To the others he moves his hands apart and mouth the words large room
Unsure if the next room was a sleeping area for more goblins or worse Smoke prepares to sneak in after Rogram.

OOC: I'll take the first Stealth roll as Yevele's stealth roll from that triple post.

Once he realizes Rogram is attempting to be stealth, Karib will wait impatiently at a safe distance, fidgeting with his staff, and looking nervously down into the pit and back the way they came.
If the stairs look clear of traps, he'll slowly move up. He's not in any hurry.
Yevele will pull back from the room, and put her finger to her lips. She points back toward the room, and mouths "kobolds" and holds both hands up with all ten fingers showing, followed by two fingers.

If there's been no sound, Rogram is completely unaware of Yevele's communication and is slowly inching further up the stairs watching for more traps.
While the others deliberate, Rogram ascends the stairway where it levels out and continues forward for another twenty feet. At that point, the tunnel begins to descend again, a long and twisting stairway of stone cut into the floor.

Nodding in the direction of Rogram, Karib says, "I think the lad has made his choice."
He glances at Yvele and Smoke, then makes ready to follow cautiously at a distance, assuming the others are in agreement.
