After making it across, Vera turned around and looked to the bridge first, then the others, before shrugging and saying, "It's probably as secure as it's ever going to be. Everyone might as well start crossing one at a time."
(Vera will also offer help people cross however she can from her side)
Knox stand at the beginning of the bridge, holding the rope. Once Vera has crossed safely, Knox comments.
"Vera, if you can hold the rope at your end and I hold this end, the others can walk along and keep hold of the rope. Then if anything happens, between us and Jhazaal, we should be able to keep anyone from falling into the darkness. I will go last, as I believe I am the heaviest and might damage the bridge with my crossing."

You all manage to cross the bridge, and after another span of mostly uneventful travel come to about a mile away from Bligdenstone (fast forwarding a bit). How are you approaching?

Turning to the others once it appeared they were getting close to Bligdenstone, Vera stopped the others so they could plan their strategy moving forward.
"So how do we want to approach this next city? The last two we've been to have been absolute nightmares so I'm not feeling particularly great about our chances here either. Should we maybe scout/ survey the place beforehand and see what we can discover about the place?" Vera offered unconfidently.
"Jhazaal not sure if good idea be caught sneaking around." Jhazaal says. "Maybe be seen as threat if caught sneaking..." he runs a hand over his bald head in agitation as he looks all around.

"I see your point but that's honestly preferable to running into another Greater Demon." Vera replied. "What do the rest of you think?"
“If they are supposed to be allies or at least neutral, I say we approach openly but warily. Perhaps come up with a code word or phrase to use if one of us suspects we are being deceived,” suggests Miles.

"I agree with the idea of scouting first, but I also see the wisdom of not appearing dishonest or hostile. I agree with Miles' suggestion to use a code word to indicate danger and that we should attempt to leave. I also think we may want to approach and ask some questions of the guards before even entering the city. If we find similar signs that something is going on, we may want to avoid the city and just try and make our way directly to the surface."

Wendigo allows a brief smile to pass across his face, exposing crooked teeth.
"I can scout. Ground dwellers... they use eyes too much. Rely on darkness sight. I learn how to... hide from it. Make eyes useless in the dark. Shadows block even darkness sight. Confident I can scout around. Won't be seen. And if seen, they understand, yes? Danger under ground. Very danger. Can't trust much. Sneak about, scout around... understandable."

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
"If you are confident in your abilities, then I agree. How long should we wait before expecting you back? Actually, we have no reliable way to track time right now, do we?"
Knox stands silent with his head cocked to the side for a moment.
"I could perhaps use magic to help us track time, if necessary. I could place a temporary enchantment on one of your weapons, Wendigo, it would last for an hour. So when it stops dimly glowing, you would know to come back. I could use a ritual cast assistant to help us track the hour here at our end. So when the assistant disappears, we would know to expect you back a short time after."
Knox looks around the group.
"Unless some else has another suggestion?"
The idea would be to ritual cast Unseen Servant and then cast Magic Weapon immediately after. Then we would have an hour before both spells would end, so can track time that way. So if Wendigo gets into trouble and doesn't return, the group knows to start looking for him. If anyone else has a ritual cast or lower level spell they can cast on Wendigo or his equipment, that lasts an hour, that would free up Knox having to use one of his level 2 spell slots.
"Is that necessary Knox? Perhaps it might be best to simply play it by ear? We may need your power should this city turn out to be another den of horrors..." Vera replied to the Warforged.
(OOC: I'd rather not utilize one of your 2nd level spell slots if we don't have to but it's up to you I suppose if you want to go that route)
