Serik studies the spear for a few moments then looks at Devvyn. "These were no average bandits...this spear has divine magic woven into it from the Stormlord, Kord....last time I felt something like this....." He paused for a moment considering, pondering the implications. "...was when I was around Lomin one time..."
He turns his attention to the scroll and opens it.
The Scroll is a Bounty poster. It reads "10000 gold alive, 50000 gold dead" Below a Picture of Victor.

"something strange is definitely going on here..." Serik said to Sayre. "I'll have Archimedes take a look around, perhaps he can find something. We can't look for Victor and track down the killer for the Take...not in the time allotted anyways." He said these words gently, knowing Victor was Sayre's friend.

Ooc: well we still need clues about the killer. Sayre was looking around before we got jumped. I can have the owl fly up and we can scout the area for more clues. With find Familiar that gives us advantage on perception.
As a refresher, Sayre found signs of a struggle. She followed the signs to find a small red gem about the size of a pea. She continued onto the Pondside and found the dagger. The dagger has a ivory handle and a onyx blade, No guard is on the blade instead there is 3 small red gems and a socket where a forth would be. The pond is where Soalce was attacked and lomin saved her. The actual Murder took place in the Velvet cabaret where Lomin suggested you go after you examined the Crescent glade.

Devynn passes out 216 gp to each remaining party member. (he kept the daggers, if anyone wants any of the rest, just say so).
"Any magic around where the tracks stop, if there is nothing else here, lets go back to the Velvet Cabaret and examine the scene there." Devynn begins to prepare to depart, cleaning his weapon, dragging the bodies out of the way.

"As for Victor if he didn't go back to the Take I haven't a clue other than a tavern where he could be hiding and I have no idea," she points to the bounty contract, "what that means," she adds next looking it over now for herself for any signs she might know who issued it.

"What that scroll means is that if we see an orc in town living the high life and seems to have endless money then we know if Victor was taken and by who." He shakes his head. "We also need to send word to Vanessa... someone might be hunting down members of the Take. Keep your eyes open while we travel. Serik any chance you can keep that bird of yours scouting around us to make sure we aren't being followed. While we walk you can place your hand on my shoulder if you are looking through your owls eyes."
Sayre, You notice that the Bounty and Image of victor are Drawn onto what was a Very fine piece of parchment, You imagine at one time someone paid a decent amount of gold for High quality parchment like this. Coin you gather these bandits could never have. Whats more is that the Image of Victor, While clearly him is slightly off. As if the picture of Victor was drawn over another Picture.

"No look at this," Sayre says holding up the bounty parchment, "this isn't even for Victor it's for someone else they've drawn the likeness to look more like Victor," she explains with a smirk. "I always thought he was funny looking but this is like an unneeded joke," she adds with a sigh. "I say we go to the carbert first and then let Vanessa know about Victor's disappearance and this," she adds rolling up the parchment and putting it into her satchel too. "Now come on before the bastions do come and we have to explain that," she adds pointing to the fallen thieves, a poor excuse for thieves at that, and marches away towards the cabaret every watchful of anymore hiding attacks with her own keen senses as well as activity looking. perception 17

Sayre the treelines are dead silent. The wind has completely died off so not even the branches are moving. That bat is still hopping from tree to tree before flying off southwards. There is no noise save for the footsteps of you and your companions. It only takes 10 minutes of walking to reach the Cabaret, The large 4 story building is impressive yet Flashy. A bit to flashy for the Duskmeadow, It stands out like a sore thumb. The Front of the Cabaret is guarded by 2 individuals. One is a short, balding human male. The Other is a Tiefling, With pure white skin.

The building definitely stood out among its surroundings. Serik studied it as they walked and got closer. He wondered what, if anything, they would find here. The puzzle was getting more and more pieces that didn't all fit together yet.
As they approached the place Serik stepped up to the gaurds with a pleasant smile, seeing if they would stop him or let him pass.
They do step in front of you, The half-elf's left hand shoots up to halt your process. He then steps in front of you, Not saying a word. The Other being, Who you now see is not a human. He is a stout, Hardy dwarf. A Long black beard with a little bit of grey starting at the chin, Head completely shaven bald. The Dwarf grips a Large warhammer in both of his hands. "Oy, what're yeh doin lad?" The dwarfs voice is deep with a thick accent. "Yeh cant just walk in 'ere, yeh should know better." He steps up beside the half-elf. "Calm it down Oliaha, Dont go gettin jumpy." The Half-elf, whos right hand was resting on the Handle of a longsword at his side. Looks at the dwarf before removing his hand from the blade and letting the dwarf step in front of him.
"Whatya want 'ere boy." The dwarf lets the butt of large warhammer rest in the freshly fallen snow. "Yer kind aint permitted in this here establishment." He looks the 3 of you up and down, Eyeing your Garb. "These decent and fancy folk dont want no rag Beggers botherin em while they socialize."
