The sight of Mark being wounded by the creature triggers a flash in Talon's mind as he was about to jump and help, and he regains something he forgot. 12

As the cat vanishes into the brush, Talon feels a swell of confidence in Mark's abilities. Sure the big guy to whapped to the ground by a cat bigger than him, then bit by said cat, which was then able to dart away untouched, but Mark's a fighter*! He's bleeding all over the place, but he still took a swing at the thing... sure, he didn't hit, but he isn't going to just roll over and give up. That's the kind of person who you can trust to have your back. Talon feels a surge of pride in their fellow shipwreck victim, and an urge to burst forth in song.

Talon flies from his hiding place to Mark's side, avoiding tall vegetation where the creature might hide. Upon landing he says, words filled with a strange melody,  ♫ Mighty friend, you make me proud, together we'll stand our ground. ♫ (Mark gains Bardic Inspiration d6).

Rapier drawn, Talon is ready to lunge should the creature come close. (holding an attack)

“Damn Crab! Let go of me!”  Adrenaline pumping through out the humans body he tries to break free using his agility instead of strength.

The Human manages to twist free of the crab. ((You still have movement, if you wanted to move away, but would take an opportunity attack to do so.))

Blue starts lifting up in a column of swirling air, the second crab to grab him with its claws being startled and dropping off as soon as its legs leave the sand, while the first crab maintains a double pinch.

You feel like you should be able to physically mix it up in a fight well enough, recent evidence to the contrary, but as you hover, crab painfully attached to your flesh, you feel like you can use your apparent command over wind to carry a puff of magical toxin toward your enemies.

The cat is ~20 ft away from Talon and Mark, crouched in the brush, but you can still see its eyes.

(OOC:  If I wanted to throw some jerky from my pack, would that be a free action, or a full action?)

((I'd say that would be an action to do it in a 'non-threatening' manner. If you want to just thrust your hand in, yank it out and drop it, I'd let that be a free interaction.))

Keeping my shield in front of me, I grab some of the jerky and drop it on the ground at my feet.  Keeping my eyes on the beast, I move away towards Talon, the whole time trying to remember anything that might help me in this fight. (Memory Die: 9)


(OOC:  Not sure how you want to handle that - if it's not a full action, I'll Ready):  I keep my axe and shield prepped, ready to strike at the cat if it comes after me or Talon instead of the meat.

Mark drops some jerky to the ground, and backs up to Talon's side. You instinctively position yourself to be able to use your shield to cover them as well, should it be necessary.

The cat's eyes vanish behind brush, and there is a rustling as it circles around and leaps out at Talon, claws flashing as it snarls.

I turn towards the rustling and move to get in the way, hoping to deflect the cat's claws from Talon.

Talon's held attack, no modifiers: Attack: 20 Damage: 11

Talon thrusts the rapier forward, the point punching through the cat's shoulder as it descends. Mark swings the shield into place, but the claw just catches the feathered fellow, attempting to drive him to the ground.

The claw strike slams Talon to the ground, and the cat quickly bites and darts away again into the underbrush. ((No opportunity attacks possible, reaction already used.))

Blood pumps weakly from the bite wound, as the extra membrane flicks closed over Talon's eyes. ((Well, your max HP is somewhere between 13 and 26... Roll me your first death save, please!))

Mark, your companion is dying at your feet, and the cat has retreated into the undergrowth again... it seems to be playing with you.

Big'Un curses at the crabs and shoots a fire bolt at the crab he has been shooting at. attack: 12  damage: 9

Big Un unleashes another fire bolt, sniping the one that had been clinging to Blue, and exoskeleton and bits of partially cooked crab meat fall to the sand.
