Aimon was thinking of the broach the drow noble has. He was only going to take the one for Trill if she didn't buy it, which it looks like she did.
Aimon eyes Madame Eva with a look of suspicion and disbelief. He suspects that someone that really has the power to see the future wouldn't be out shilling for a couple of coins from strangers in the market.
"So you see the future a lot do you?" Aimon asks her. "How do you know if you get it right or not?"
She cackles and then says blandly, "If I didn't see the future a lot, I wouldn't be much of a fortune teller now would I, Aimon?" She laughs to herself again and shuffles her deck of cards. She fans them out across the table and says, "I can read the future whenever I want, but getting some gold tends to help me... focus more." She looks up at the group and gives a wink.
Caelynn sets three silver on the counter - one each for herself, Trill, and Oak, who she sees eyeing the woman's cards - then glances back to Aimon. "Do you want one, too?" She asks, fishing another coin out of her bag. She isn't sure whether she believes Madame Eva can really see the future or has any sort of power, but she figures it'll be entertaining either way.
“Well the fates have brought us together... and brought us all this far...”, says Oak. “I’d be interested to see what they have in store for us next. And thank you m’Lady”. He shuffles closer and looms a hulking shadow over the proceedings of the fate-reader.
Eldeth, Jimjar, and Topsy watch in interest, but don't give any silver to her.
As the four silver is placed on the table, she snatches them up and stows them in a pouch at her side. She lights a candle or incense and places it on the table. She suddenly snatches Trill's hand and begins running a finger her it. She nods to herself and then selects a card from her deck and clips it over. The card depicts a figure wrapped in chains that anchor into the floor. Blood seeps between the chains, and the future is lying prone in the center of an arcane diagram inscribed on the floor. She says, "The Chained One. Someone you seem is in grave danger. Mysteries and hidden blades surround them and goad them to obey the will of one. Be careful, they may not be the same as you remember them."
She take Oak's hand and tears his palm. She then takes a card and flips it over to reveal a powerfully built figure wearing heavy metal armor encased in sharp dodges and spikes. In one hand, it holds a severed head by the hair as blood drips from its severed neck while the other hand grasps a huge swords dragging on the ground behind it as it walks forward. She says, "The Dreadlord. Your anger is your greatest weapon, but it is the greatest threat to you. Your creator is near, and rage, hatred, and bloodlust are his weapons of choice. Resist him, or lose yourself to him."
She takes Aimon's hand and reads it for a while before flipping over a card and reveals it to you. The card shows the profile of an elven man dressed in finery. The man is smiling shyly and holding up a mirror that covers half of his face. The half covered by the mirror shows half a face of a grinning monster. Its teeth are long and sharp, and its eye is an empty socket filled with shadows. She says, "The Deciever. What you seek is not want you think. It is aware of you, and is seeking to make you a puppet on its strings."
She takes Caelynn's hand and reads her palm. She then selects a card and flips It over. You see a regal queen sitting on the top of a throne. Her delicate hands feet clasped in her lap. Her eyes stare forward. She says, "The Queen. You have powerful allies around you. The task you have been charged may seem insurmountable, but there is a chance you may succeed. Bide your time and strike."
Oak listens carefully. But once the readings have been given, he leans in once again. He urgently presses a gold piece into the woman’s hand, and clasps her hand and coin in both of his. “I beg of you fate-watcher.... My mother..... Can you see far? Does she yet live?.. Please.... ....”.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Aimon smiles as the fortune teller goes through her spiel and tells each of them what she sees. It's more or less what he expected. If the fortune teller had been watching them she would have seen their interest, particularly Trills in the slaves. Anyone who looks at Oak can see what drives him. He has a big heart but it's surrounded by explosive rage. And despite his upbringing, Aimon is pretty sure he comes across as someone who may have sticky fingers. And that comes with the standard warning that greed will rule me.
But then he stops and actually looks closer at Madame Eva. What she tells Caelynn is too bang on and far too obscure. Maybe there is something to this after all.
(Insight to see if Aimon can figure out if Madame Eva believes what she's telling them: 15 )
Aimon, as far as you can tell, she is earnest in her words.
She takes Oak's coin and slips it into her pouch. She pops her knuckles and cracks her fingers as she says, "I can certainly try." She puts her cards away and shifts her cloudy orb to the center of the table. She leans in close to it and places her hands to either side of it. Her eyes relax and roll upwards until you can I oh see the whites of her eyes as opens flexes her fingers around the orb. She begins droning in low tone in an obscure language. The more she says, the more the sounds of the market fade away into muffled backdrop. Her hypnotic words draw you in, and the orb becomes the centerpoint of your vision. The cloudy interior of the crystal orb begins to shift me move, and her words become more urgent. The fog inside shifts and reveals a glimpse of something before she cuts off her words. Reality snaps back into focus, and you are seized by a moment of vertigo as she stops. She puts the cloth back over the orb and says solemnly, "She is alive, but I cannot find her. Something hides her from me."
Oak looks at Caelynn, tears forming in his eyes. And then at Trill, and Aimon, and the others, and then back at the fortune teller. “Thank you, that’s all I needed to know... I will find her!... Thank you!”. He steps back.
Oak is happy to browse the rest of the mystical section of the markets. But if no interesting magical items jump out to the party, he might suggest then looking for a tavern or inn.
Caelynn takes a step back with Oak. The information Madame Eva gave her was eerily accurate, but it wasn't the most pressing issue. She takes Oak's large hand in her own and gives it a gentle squeeze. "You'll find her. We'll help, if we can."
Caelynn would be interested in going into the shop there. She would pass over the other outdoor stall if it's just advertising talismans and the like, but take a look if the vendor is promising something more.
Oak holds Caelynn’s hand up like a talisman, “My mother... I... She... ...”. He looks through her, and past her: over her head to some distant, unseen place. Then he looks right back at her, “Maybe I’ll get to meet her.. see her... again”. He smiles a beaming smile and gives her a kiss on her forehead, “Mwah!... Haha!”. He goes back to looking off into the distance.
"Clan Firehand you say?" She scrunches up her face in concentration before shrugging and saying, "I don't know who they are. I'm from Barovia, not Gracklestugh."
The other vendor is selling hand-made trinkets he claims are magical. It's a lot of figurines and wooden jewelry. He looks slightly homeless and crazy.
You push open the door and is surprised at the space in front of you. The building from the outside only looks to be about 15 foot by 15 foot, but the inside is massive. You can barely see the other end of the building behind shelves filled with wonders. Spaced randomly throughout the shelves are open spaces with large constructs of strange design. You can see several customers perusing the shelves. Each shopper has creature made of pearly white metal trailing closely behind them. It looks similar to a woman made of seamless and delicate metal that brightly reflects the light in the room. Their legs taper off into sharp points as well as their arms. Glowing blue eyes illuminate their faces, and they have no mouth.
You see one of those strange metal figures materialize out of the air as you set foot in the shop. In a calm woman's voice, it says, "Welcome to Aganazaars Arcanum. I am Eva, your assistant. I will tend to your needs while in the shop. We have two rules: don't touch without permission, and don't steal." She continues on in a pleasantly cheerful voice, "Stealing is punishable by means worse than death. How may I help you?"

Aimon smiles at the fortune teller. Whatever trick that was, it was clever, he'll grant her that.
"I believe my diminutive girl here," he says gesturing to Trill. "would like to know how much it costs for a fortune."
"It will be one silver per person," she says with a wily grin.

"Well she managed to over hear someone say my name," Aimon says to Caelynn." So she's bound to have heard a lot from her perch here."
He looks more closely at Madame Eva.
"Sure why not," he says. "Give me the works."
"One for all of us, then," Caelynn says with a smile, placing the fourth coin down.
