Kurma knows about the Yellow Musk Creeper, a nasty vine whose flowers resemble an orchid's. A creeper destroys the mind of humanoids, then implants bulbs in those it kills. The humanoid, after 24 hours, becomes a zombie host to protect the plant and act as fertilizer.

Brunella, hearing trouble, runs in the building. She sees Gertrude ducking under swarming vines. She kneels and fires her crossbow at the vine, then drops it on the ground and hurls a javelin at it.

In a flurry of commotion, Irommek stowed his map and ran towards the building and pulled out his new heavy crossbow. The giant vine was still a long way off as he came to the entrance. Pausing, he fired a bolt at the veggie-creature and then quickly pulled his handaxe and threw it with a loud grunt to try and clear the distance and buy Gertrude some time to escape the snapping tendrils.
OOC: Attack with crossbow (18), damage if hit (4), second attack with handaxe with disadvantage with the distance (13), damage if hit (6)

Gertrude sees a vine coming towards her from the corner of her eye. But it already wraps around her body, before the Goliath can step out of the way.
Immediately the vine constricts and holds Gertrude tight. She only lets out a groan before her air is taken away.
She can feel anger bubbling up inside her, mostly because of her inattention she was now trapped inside a ruin. [starting to rage, +2tHP for Gertrude]
