Ralfaen, the bugbear looks confused at your 60's comment and then the disco-esque ball appears and does exactly what you've described. It lights up the entire room, although the light is most intense right in front of the bugbear where the ball is, and the bugbear is completely blinded. "Roooaaaaaarrr!!! I can't seeeeee!!" The bug bear is Blinded until the end of Ralf's next turn.
Gotur, your eye must've caught some of the blinding light from Ralf's disco-ball, because you swing your staff wide of the mark. The hobgoblin will respond to you on its turn.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Alton uses his action to throw the dagger of venom at the blinded. (The blindness gives advantage and therefore sneak attack, but I’m not entirely sure if assassinate triggers. Would the Bugbear be surprised? I will include damage for an auto crit just in case.)
Attack: 18 Damage: 6
Sneak Attack: 5
Poison (DC 15 Con Save): 12 (Accidentally added a +2. Should be 9 total, my bad)
Crit Damage:
Dagger: 3 Sneak Attack: 3
Total w/out crit: 14 piercing plus 9 poison
Total w/ crit: 24 piercing plus 9 poison
Alton then uses his bonus action to dash. He vaults over the table he hides behind and runs to the northwest corner, looking to hide behind the table up there. (It’s fine if he can’t make it all the way)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
((The critical wouldn't be applicable because it's not the creature's first turn, nor is the creature surprised))
Alton, you peek out of that alcove and whip your dagger at the bugbear. It sticks in deep, piercing the hide armor and landing in the upper chest. Perhaps very close to the heart. (-14) The bugbear yelps out in pain... CON: 10 and the open wound is exposed to the magical poison as it takes effect.
((The poison damage is 2d10, here's the other D10: 6 )) The poison immediately goes to the bugbear' heart (-17) and instantly kills the creature. It drops to the floor, poisoned to death.
Alton, you then easily slide over the table, head up to the northwest alcove, and are able to get in behind the table up there. You cannot actually hide as that'd be another action but more importantly the goblins have already seen you - but the table like the one in the other corner is giving you 1/2cover.
The hobgoblin sees his bugbear thug fall to the ground clenching his heart and responds to Gotur"THIS! We didn't do THIS! We are scavengers, like you it would seem! Look at the bodies! They are eaten." The hobgoblin takes a defensive stance, clearly realizing that his measly band of goblins are no match for the party. The hobgoblin will Dodge. "Let us live and we will be on our merry way."He gazes at Gotur.
The 2 goblins behind the bar, do not really hear what the hobgoblin just said to Gotur. Plus, they don't speak common very well. They both pop up from behind the bar, scream something in goblin, and let loose arrows from their short bows, both headed towards Ralfaen who is straight ahead of them.
Attack: 7 Damage: 8
Attack: 8 Damage: 6
Both of the arrows fly wide and clank off the south wall of the lodge.

((I am moving for Ralf as we are a day out from last post
"Horrible shots, you both are!" Ralf says as he creates magical radiant flames that surround the left goblin at the bar. Sacred Flame1 Goblin DEX Save: 10 and the goblin shakes his little body all around and the flames dissipate, causing it no damage.
(Snake, sorry man, I didn't know what to do, but want to move this game along. If this was the last battle or something, I would give more time.)
Next Round: Gotur, Alton, Bugbear, Hobgoblin, Goblin 1 and 2, Ralf
Gotur, you get a sense from the look of the hobgoblin and the others that this is nothing more than a rag-tag band of goblin raiders, and the hobgoblin is indeed telling the truth when he says they didn't commit the atrocities that fill this room.
They were for sure looting the place, though.
*Klein takes out trusty Spiderwrangler's 'actions in combat' document*
Looks like Gotur still has his action left. Which makes sense in this case if you ask me.
Gotur takes the Dodge action, not quite sure how to proceed. He's having images of someone of Carl's ilk coming across him while investigating a scene like this, and the assumptions they'd jump to.

Alton continues to stay behind the table and draws a dagger. “What was that, Gotur?” he calls out. “Should I stop? What are we doing?” Alton then will ready his dagger, prepared to throw it at one of the goblins based on Gotur’s response. (A reaction to respond?)
((I tend to lean towards not having PC's be able to answer back and forth dialogue out of turn, although I think again it's a case by case basis. In this case, Alton will likely get his answer I believe in the next series of events. And, there's the fact that Gotur did not attack the hobgoblin. Let's move your ready to if the goblins make a hostile attack.))
Alton, your dagger reflects some light as you hold it ready to launch.
The hobgoblin yells to the goblins behind the bar "FOOLS! ENOUGH!" and then looks at Gotur and throws his longsword to the ground. "I swear. We heard fighting from our camp and decided to investigate. They were all dead when we got here. Truth-speak this is, orc-man." the hobgoblin grunts at you, now unarmed.
The two goblins behind the bar look at each other, confused after being yelled at by the hobgoblin. They do not throw down their weapons, but also do not attack. They... take no action. "Ok boss. No more arrow-fly. No more. Nope. Nope. No more."
The professor has remained still during the 20 seconds or so that have passed during combat, but at this moment she will now start pacing back and forth. She also would've yelled out a few times "Hey! What's goin' on in there guys?! Everythin' ok in there guys?!" She is not approaching the lodge just yet. Only starting to pace.
Anyone with a passive perception of 12 or greater would've heard her yell.
Ralfaen goes from holding a defensive position with his quarterstaff to gently carrying it. However, his calm demeanor remains stagnant. "Professor, fine, we are. Peace, there will be, but questions, we must ask. Looting the bodies, why were you? Uncovered so far, what clues you have? What sounds did hear you, hmm?"
Ralfaen, the hobgoblin looks at you and says: "Why were we looting the bodies? Ha, ha, ha. Why do you think, tortle! The dead don't need the coin no more." he grunts again and looks at you like, duh, why would anyone loot a body other than to get their money.
At this point, combat ends as there seems to be a "truce" in this moment. The two goblins behind the bar look at Alton and then jump over and kind of hide behind the hobgoblin. "We listen, boss. No more shoot. No more slice."
The hobgoblin glances at them, shoo's them away, and says: "Listen here. I do not know what happened, but I'd hate to meet the creature that did it. We heard screaming... a lot of screaming." he pauses. "Look... our camp is very close to here. We have always left this lodge alone as it's always heavily guarded. We did not do this."
He then says:
"I'm going to grab my sword, and take these two fools and leave now. You can have the coin. Yes?"
"Care for the coin, I do not, but take it, all of you will not. At rest, their bodies must be. And at all times, for that creature, your eyes must be open. Understand me, do you?"
