As the party decides where and how to launch a ship, the jungle begins to stir. Slowly, noiselessly, the large, trumpet-shaped flowers of 3 plants begin to bloom. The flowers of each plant are red, orange and yellow. Each plant stands 6-7ft high.
Thanks to his vast knowledge of the flora of Southern Faerûn, Huarache notices some movement among the trees and reacts quickly. With lightning reflexes, Yaren readies himself to face whatever has Huarache's fur standing on end.
Ooc: Those two are up, then the plants, then everyone else.

So what does Huarache know about these?
If Huarache knows that he would need to stand and defend himself, he will shoot twice with his blunderbuss at the nearest one, with Echo standing near him, readying an action to Force-Empowered Rend a plant that approaches her or Huarache. If Echo is not in the same group as Yaren and I, I would argue that she could be because she can't be surprised and is an extension of a Battle Smith.
First Attack: 9 Damage: 13
Second Attack: 9 Damage: 12
Echo Attack (Ready Action): 20 Damage: 10
If the nearest plant is more than 15 feet away, Huarache has disadvantage on the attack rolls, so use 19 and 23 as alternate attack rolls for disadvantage purposes, should this be relevant.
I'm only guessing that this is a combat because you say Huarache is scared and because of your phrasing of combat order, but if Huarache somehow recognizes that these are the superintelligent plant elders of an advanced plant society (a horti-culture if you will), then he will obviously not just shoot them.
Also, I'm really proud of that "horti-culture" pun.
If you like puns, consider this unexpected plant attack an am-BUSH.
As far as I'm concerned, all pet (mount, familiar, summoned entity, etc.) actions can occur at will as directed by their owners. My goal here is to keep up the pace, sacrificing (only where necessary) some rules-based strategy in favor of (hopefully) better flow and better stories.
Anyone looking at these things can see they're hostile at this point, but you would have recognized it moving before it bloomed. Yaren's just got insane perception and initiative bonuses, but might not guess how malevolent a plant could be if you didn't tip him off.
The beach is about 20ft wide position yourself as you please, Theater of the Mind style. You can wade up to 10 ft into the sea before you have to swim, 5ft for a small creature.

You are just a few feet from the jungle. No disadvantage, but the shots hit either way. Both plants go down in like they've been hit with a weed whacker. Yaren is left to deal with the remaining plant.
I declared 'xp', since I didn't know how many encounters we'd get though before you guys got bored and we had to start the actual Module. It's pretty incidental. 100xp each for the zorbos.
The last plant goes down before anyone is hurt. As you breath a sigh of relief, the relative quiet allows you to hear, past the craving waves and typical jungle sounds, something approaching. Something big.
The sound of trees snapping and leaves shaking as bodies push their way through the vegetation toward the shore emmenate from the East. It seems the loud sounds of the battle with the weeds has attracted some unwanted attention. From the sound of it, you can tell the source of the commotion will arrive within five minutes.
The airborne imp scout will undoubtedly see what approaches well before its arrival. Three frost giants approach, stomping through the jungle as they rush to the beach.
Ooc: in 3 hours real time they'll arrive at your location, if there are no p.osts moving the action forward
(Assuming the imps owner tells us what it sees) Hearing what is coming, Tel does a few upwards waves with an open palm, let's out some guttural sounds and does a few jumps on a single leg, a couple on each one. Before everyone's eyes, the jungle starts to thicken and quickly becomes overgrown. "That should slow them a bit, anyone got a plan? Giants are known to throw rocks, so the boat may not be the best choice at the moment", he asks the others.
Cast Plant Growth, it should now take four times longer to travel through the jungle in a 100ft radius circle. Although, if it takes them minutes to get here they are probably still thousands of feet away. Maybe what counts as taking four times longer to find a way through to normal sized creatures could make it impassable to giants?
(OOC: The folding boat doesn't come with speed stats. I'd say that since it's between the stats for a keelboat and a rowboat, it probably has an oar speed between 15-20, and a sail speed between 20-25 feet, +/- 10 feet with/against the wind.)
"The boat will take but seconds to unfold. Even with the wind behind us, we can't sail as fast as those things can move, so if we're going we should go now while they're slowed,"Dorian says, and begins to unfold the boat. (This will take 2 rounds to get to the full size needed to carry all of us.)
Huarache can cast Enhance Ability twice to help two of the rowers with either STR to push the oars or CON to maintain the difficult physical regimen of rowing long enough to get away from the giants. We will probably need that along with many other rowers.

Yes to the boat, unless someone has super strong objections, but Dorian would like to get a move on.

Alright. And there are tree of those plants?
Also, is Huarache in disadvantage range of the plants?

And I'm going to flavor Huarache commanding Echo to stand ready as him putting tulips together to whistle.

Sorry to interrupt an epic battle sequence, but are we going by XP or milestone? If the former, how much XP did we get for the zorbo fight?

“I don’t know what that sound is, but I’d rather not be here when it arrives. Are we taking the boat then?” says Huarache, looking at the others.
