8 does Beedo get any or just me? if just me i'll have beedo grab it for me as Rip has gone to sleep as he was barely able to stand
Beedo greedily reaches into Kella's pouch and pulls out 8 gp and 5 sp. He looks a little disappointed at not finding anything more exciting, like a hairbrush or a chicken bone, but stuff them into his own battered pouch all the same.
"So, we lettin'em ride off then? I don't like the idea o' leavin' enemies at me back but a deal's a deal I s'pose....but izat the deal we made? I fer one ain't keen on babysittin'em."
Thinking on it a bit more "eh, nothing more at do about it. I won't take yer oath ta not come back, I know better'en that. You can ride on, an' I owe ye nothin' once yer outta me sight." Flint starts loosing their bonds.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seviari grabs the hand crossbow, 2 scimitars, and 5 crossbow bolts. He also scavenges 1 of his own arrows from the dead bodies. Delighted at this, he straps the scimitars onto his back, places the hand crossbow onto his belt, and then leans against the wall of the building he was in previously and waits to see what everyone else decides
//For what exactly. I already specified Solace wants them as prisoners as to not invite them to stab us in the back. Flint posted after Solace and we've yet to all agree whether or not to release them. I am trying to have some sort of democracy here but dang if we could all have a chance to agree would be great.//

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Flint remembers the drawbridge winches, palisades, watchtowers, and wide open spaces all around the town. If there was a vigilant being posted up in the watchtower, there would be no way for enemies to sneak up, and one could watch the beleaguered ans weaponless Zhentarim ride away into the distant hills.
Furthermore, climbing the walls would require climbing gear and a swim across the river-moat.
It's possible that someone could gain entry from the southern end of the town, but you haven't been down that far to examine the state of things.
In any case, the most defensible area of the whole town would likely be the motte-and-bailey Keep.
Solace isn't quite able to envision any proper way to keep them prisoner, unless of course there were possibly a dungeon in the keep on the south end of the village. No secure holdings in town, and ropes can be torn through.
// It was brought to my attention by a third party that I may have caused some confusion asking for a save instead of an ability check. As a DM I'm in the habit of asking for saves as a "get out of trouble" mechanic, much like when PCs fail their passive Perception check and blunder into as trap.
// So allow me to be blunt :)
// If you were to keep the Zhents here, after accepting the payment from Xolkin to let him and Kella go, how much more bad blood do you think there might be? That's all I'm saying: fromtheirperspective, they paid, and now you're going back on the deal struck by Xolkin. (Whether or not that's how your characters see it.) //
//Solace made no deals and only took loot for the group from the fallen; she said they'd be held prisoner and dealt with accordingly by Lord's Alliance. Flint took the bag of gems and said he'd let them go NOT Solace. She wants to hold them prisoner and let them be dealt with by the people of Nightstone which they came here to exploit but apparently I'm the only one who understands how faction loyalties/rules work. As Lord's Alliance we'd NEVER take a pay off and we'd never let the Zhent spread into a territory or town we promise to protect not to mention actually bleed already trying to oust them as Solace did. I haven't a clue why my companions A) went to sleep in the middle of a crucial moment and B) took payment from our sworn enemies! This is why I haven't posted again in character//
//It's like one person can't make a decision for the group but Solace never made a deal or took anything from Xolkin so as far as she goes only deal she made was the ceasefire to heal Kella which she did and kept her word on not harming them while in her custody. You ask for factions, I'm playing my faction.//

//You also have to realize that we aren't a party of Lord's Alliance members. We all have different in character motives and personalities, and not everyone agrees. That happens sometimes. So most of the time it ends up being a majority rules situation. Sev personally is currently more worried about the fact that Xolkin downed one potion and was basically invincible. We finally got them to stop almost killing members of our group, so he just really wants them gone as soon as possible, and if we can get any loot out of the deal, then that's even better.//
//Lord's Alliance DOESN'T take payoffs regardless of how you want Flint to 'see it' Lord's Alliance is a collection of honorable men and women who "to ensure the safety and prosperity of the cities and other settlements of Faerûn form a strong coalition against the forces that threaten all, eliminate such threats by any means necessary whenever and wherever they arise, and be champions of the people." Zhent aren't just bad guys there THE bad guys as far as we're concerned. I honestly don't see how Flint can be L.A. and think taking money from Zhent and letting them go is ok!//

As for any of the wealth found inside these walls of the town and anything else that man tries to give you," she paused looking to Xolkin, "it's off limits! "We need to set up a watch. Seviari up first you said," she asked the elf. "Well, I say we let our friend Marav have a rest while we do," she adds next moving to lift Xolkin to his feet and checking his bonds are still tight. "Then once my watch is over I'll wake Rip who can finish out the watch," she adds looking to everyone whilst holding Xolkin to agree or offer a better solution.
// Yeah, let's please deal with this in character. The OOC stuff is getting way too far out of context. Work it out IC please. //
