Marav takes his 13gp and shoves it into his pouch. He then turns to Solace. "I always found you Lord's Alliance folks kinda amusing. These people want to pay their fine and be on their way. This isn't a payoff it is a fine. They wronged us by attacking. Since we are the wronged parties we can decide their fate. Would you prefer we take their lives?"
"Of course I don't want to kill unarmed people who have surrendered. I want them to face justice," Solace replied. "They would not leave after I told them this was Alliance business and you need to know that I took first blood," she explains to Marav. "The Zhent killed my father and stole my birth right," she adds with some bitterness in her tone. "They aren't going to take this town or hurt these people just to line their own pockets," she then says pushing Xolkin toward the inn where she assumes they're all holding up for the night again. "We need to move the others inside as well," she says waiting for help.
//Solace wants to hold them prisoner to face village justice she's 99% sure they're all thieves and are wanted somewhere for some law breaking. If she's the only one, I guess she'll try to do it by herself//

// the following are Flint's motivations for the actions he has taken so far which a group at table would probably talk out //
Our charter from the Lords Alliance was to aid Lady Velrosa with a goblin problem. We arrive to find the town devastated and all the folk gone.
We find goblins looting the place. We kill them. Flint doesn't see a reason to leave loot laying around for other goblins to come find and take. He knows it will take more than good intentions to restore this town and intends to offer that 'loot' to Lady Velrosa to distribute as he sees fit.
Flint chose to sleep because we had decided to rest, he's a soldier and knows on campaign you take sleep when you can get it.
Flint thought hard about what to do about the sack of gems Xolkin gave him, here's why he accepted them:
First off, the gems weren't offered as hush money and were presented at the same time as the statement "oh, by the way I'm a Zhent." First instict was to return them.
Flint didn't think it would be appropriate for him to decide for the group to return the gems which were paid to them in gratitude for saving Kella.
Flint realized these gems (or his share of them) could also be used to restore the town.
Flint doesn't believe in blood money, he's a dwarf, money don't take sides.
Flint didn't want a Zhent to feel indebted to him any more that he would want to feel indebted to a Zhent.
When Xolkin mentioned his plan to claim the town, Flint stood his ground and basically said you ain't claiming nothing yet. He didn't offer combat right away because he felt the plight of the town was more important and more in keeping with his charter than offering open warfare to a random upstart who didn't seem to have anything to do with it.
And then there was a fight... Flint didn't know about Solace's personal grudge so he was pretty surprised when she tried to shoot the bad guy in the face.
And now, we've got these guys tied up, Flint's Lawful Good, he's not going to execute them and clearly we've got work to do in this town. Lady Velrosa has more important concerns than to deal with a threat that we have neutralized at least for a while. If we have to fight this guy again so be it, but I'd sure like to know where the townsfolk are and would prefer to not be dragging this guy around.
"What were they doing here? I get you don't like them, but from what you say, you attacked them and now that we beat them, we are robbing them?" Marav rubs his temples, wondering what he has gotten himself into. He looks to each of his new companions... "Are we the bandits here? Are we the bad guys?"
"They came to claim the city for the Zhentarim," Solace explains. "We were sent here by the Lord's Alliance to help Lady Velrosa with a goblin problem! We were handling that when we helped her," she'll point to Kella, "who I thought was of the town," she adds. "We were just about to turn in for the night having killed all the goblins we saw and sparing Rip's pal when they rode in," she says motioning to Xolkin and the other two riders. "He tried to bribe us to leave town. I am not a bandit nor a bad guy," she exclaims next. "I repeat they would not leave the town and threatened us so I took action. It may have been in retrospect foolhardy by my experience with the Zhent in the past has made me shoot first and ask questions later," she finishes.

"Ok, ok... had me worried there. They didn't actually break any laws that I see. They were loud and planning to break the law. The rest was just them defending themselves. We can let the night watch sort it out of course, but that might very well delay us. After all what are they going to think when we attacked first. I say let them go, the loss of gold and blood will make them think twice."
Solace wants to follow her oaths and be honorable to Lord's Alliance but sees the truth in Marav's words which remind her the true reason for being in Nightstone. "You need to leave this city and never return," Solace say firmly cutting loose Xolkin's bonds and pushing him away from her. "You leave on foot with whatevers on your back," she adds. "No arms," she adds. She then motions to the others to release Kella and the riders. "If I see you again pray that Tymora is in a forgiving mood because it will take her council to stop me from ending you and all your bannermen," she adds before sheathing her longsword and moving passed everyone into the inn.

//Why did I even bother. I just can't seem to roll//
Xolkin and Kella nodded sullenly at Marav and Solace's words, and did make eye contact with anyone else as they lit their torches and led their two henchmen across the drawbridge and away from the town.
Flint grumbles as he heads into the inn "Never gunna take me armor off again.... Hey someone outta raise the drawbridge after'em, don't want na more visitors tonight.
// Assuming you have your watch shifts worked out, you're all welcome to turn in for the night and press the Long Rest button on your character sheet! //
The night is wearing on, and fatigue is settling in on those still standing at the site of two hard-fought battles. Goblin and human corpses now litter the ground outside the Inn, and the grisly images are an unsettling trimming on a town already ravaged by a giant attack.
// If you're skipping the long rest and doing something different, that's fine too; you can post so here or let me know via PM what you'd like to spend your 6-8 hours doing. //
"No I know they remain in Neverwinter. I just know their kind protect him," Solace replies. "I am sorry I never shared this with you. I am trying to gain my allies wisely for my fight to come," she adds settling in to rest, armor on. " I forgot my place sometimes my friends, I never meant for you to fall because of my own need for vengeance," she finishes before telling everyone to rest well.

He then draws his shortbow and sets up in the tower, watching for anything that could prove to be a danger
