Byllemura chuckles: "This is a very good idea, actually. It looks like the weather here is not going to get any better and I don't want to spend my time borrowing Thpas' cloak."
You trudge through the filthy streets on your way out of Vallaki. The townsfolk stare suspiciously at those of you that are not human. Ravens watch you, perched on the gutters of the houses of the town. When you finally reach the east gate, a town guard opens it for you. Only the mist seems to welcome you, reaching out to embrace you with its cold, relentless tendrils. As you leave town, a gust of wind carries what sounds to you like a maniacal laugh.

Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
// Perhaps Erme and Thpas up front with Sylciss invisible further up some as point look out, Byllemura in the middle and Val just beside/behind as the rear guard? //

Sylciss fell asleep. Remember?

The Old Svalich Road transitions here from being a winding path through the Balinok mountains to a lazy trail that hugs the mountainside as it descends into a fog-filled valley. In the heart of the valley you see the town of Vallaki, its walls protecting it from the forest surrounding it from all sides. The town lies near the shores of a great mountain lake, its waters dark and still. A branch in the road leads west to a promontory, atop which is perched a dilapidated stone windmill, its warped wooden vanes stripped bare.
Approaching the windmill, you can better study its features (Sylciss' snoring has gotten quite annoying lately):
The onion-domed edifice leans forward and to one side , as though trying to turn away from the stormy gray sky. You see gray brick walls and dirt-covered windows on the upper floors. A decrepit wooden platform encircles the windmill above a flimsy doorway leading to the building's interior. Perched on a wooden beam above the door is a raven. It hops about and squawks at you, seemingly agitated.

Valanthe removes her shield from her back and locks it onto her arm, saying with a chuckle, "In case I need to push another old lady to the ground." She loosens her shield to allow for an easy draw, but leaves it sheathed for the moment.
"Little raven - are you upset we're here, or upset that we're not here soon enough?" Valanthe asks softly... then turning to the others, "Well... should we just knock?"

The raven opens its beak, letting out the sound of a crone cackling madly. It then flies away toward Vallaki.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thpas collects up his familiar Sylciss, attempting to wake him. "Wake up. We're here." after nudging the imp a few times, notices his familiar is still asleep, and shakes him until he wakes.
"Before we knock, we should likely have a look first. I think I know just the way to do it. I'm going to need a few moments. I will need you to keep me safe while I take a peek." Thpas finds a reasonable spot to lay down that is a bit hidden and out of the way.
Find Familiar Allows the following which I would like to do:
1) As an action, you can temporarily dismiss your familiar. It disappears into a pocket dimension where it awaits your summons. Alternatively, you can dismiss it forever. As an action while it is temporarily dismissed, you can cause it to reappear in any unoccupied space within 30 feet of you.
2)While your familiar is within 100 feet of you, you can communicate with it telepathically. Additionally, as an action, you can see through your familiar's eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn, gaining the benefits of any special senses that the familiar has. During this time, you are deaf and blind with regard to your own senses.
I'd like to pop him into the windmill while he is invisible so that Thpas can take a look around. Whatever Sylciss sees, I'd like to convey to the group.
"Going on what we heard from the innkeeper's wife, there might be some children in there...if that's the case, then maybe one of us could sneak in and free them. Silence and invisibility could do it...depending on what Sylciss finds in there, of course." Emre finds herself getting excited at this prospect.
You all see Thpas grimacing in the corner where he sits. As if he had coated his tongue in a putrid cheese that had rotted from a curdling mess of spoiled milk.
Byllemura chuckles: "This is a very good idea, actually. It looks like the weather here is not going to get any better and I don't want to spend my time borrowing Thpas' cloak."

Thpas gathers up the long end of his cape, sniffing it.
"perhaps it could do with a wash" he concedes quietly to himself.
taking his place at the front of the group he keeps pace with the others, awaiting Sylciss to wake from his stupor.
