Valanthe will go to the trunk and cabinet in turn knocking on them lightly and saying to each, "We're here from Vallaki - anyone here need rescuing?"
If Valanthe hears any muffled sound emanating from either piece of furniture or see them shake or move in any way reactively, Valanthe will open it up, breaking any lock in her way.
Upon knocking on the cabinet, it opens, revealing three glass bottles containing odd elixirs. The first one contains a golden syrupy liquid and is labeled "Youth". The second elixir is a pinkish fluid labeled "Laughter". The third elixir is a greenish milky liquid labeled "Mother's Milk".

"I found some bottles in the cabinet - I'll pocket them for now for the sheer reason that I'm sure they're some sort of atrocity that we should not let them keep," Valanthe quietly responds. Then saying as she moves over to the trunk, "I'll check the trunk now."
As soon as Valanthe lifts the lid of the trunk, she is swarmed by hoards and hoards of toads!

As she is getting closer to the oven, afraid of what she would discover in it, Byllemura jumps, startled by the swarm of toads pouring out of the trunk and Valanthe's sudden inquiry. She says "Y.. Yes. Upstairs it is." and turns towards the others. "Thpas, has Sylciss spotted anything on the second floor?"
Emre quickly rushes to Valanthe and holds her shield up and over the two of them, casting Word of Radiance in an attempt to quickly (and rather violently) silence the toads [CON save 13].
// I'm just going to say that the toads automatically fail //
The corpses of fried toads fly from Emre, landing perfectly cooked on the floor.
// For those of you players that went upstairs... //
A haggard, heavyset old woman with a face as wrinkled as a boiled apple sweeps the floor, pushing around a few old bones and stirring up a cloud of white dust with her broom. She wears a bloodstained, flour-caked apron. A long, sharp bodkin impales her bundled-up mound of gray hair.
The dirt-caked windows allow very little light to enter this eight-foot high chamber, most of which is taken up by a large millstone connected to a wooden gear shaft that rises through the ceiling in the center of the room. A stone staircase continues up, toward the sound of loud cackling.
The woman, without looking at you, stops sweeping. The broom falls to the floor. She then turns to face you. Morgantha grins. "Hello, my little pumpkins!" she says, smiling in a way that shows her fang-like teeth. "Have you come for more pastries, my sweets?"

If Emre can see Morgantha and also ascertain that the cackling is coming from elsewhere, she will say, "We didn't finish our discussion from earlier. We're interested in your pies, but would like to know...what you put in them....?"
Emre looks to her compatriots and shrugs minutely.
Valanthe and Emre, arriving on the second floor with the others, perceive the following scene:
A haggard, heavyset old woman with a face as wrinkled as a boiled apple glowers at your friends, staring at you all with evil, yellow eyes.
In response to Emre, Morgantha replies, "The bones of the innocent are ground into the flour of my pastries. Children's bones are so tender, yet so rich in flavor! Barovians love my pastries, and are willing to pay the price. Yet for those who have no money, children make excellent substitutes!" she smiles diabolically.

// So she doesn't look like she did out on the street anymore? More monstrous? //
//She appears the same except her expression is more sinister and her eyes are unnaturally yellow//

Valanthe shakes from sheer rage, her eyes afire with hatred as she looks upon the old woman.
Her long sword, already drawn, ignites with flames of radiant energy (// bonus action to cast divine favor //) "You demon! The innocent will have their vengeance and I shall be its deliverer!"
Valanthe yells, almost sings, a discordant tone as she charges the old woman, her longsword already arcing to strike her where she stands!
"Well, that escalated quickly" whispers Byllemura before focusing on her orb, shouting to Morgantha: "Burn down to ashes, witch!". As she finishes her incantation, three rays of flames appear in her left hand and she hurls them at the old woman (casting Scorching Ray as a quickened spell)
1st ray: Attack: 21 Damage: 9
2nd ray:Attack: 9 Damage: 5
3rd ray: Attack: 20 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
"This folly must end!" she says, as she brings back her left arm and throws another mote of fire at her prey (casting Fire Bolt: Attack: 11 Damage: 4)
