And so the party crosses the bridge. Daphina first, causing the bridge to give a creak and a sway. Then, as Duncan follows, setting foot, the bridge snaps with a crack.
Both Daphina and Duncan go plummeting into the crevasse, falling into a pile of rubble. You each take 8 bludgeoning damage.
After this happens, you each begin to hear a soft unintelligible mumbling fill your minds. “Hmmmm... a mistake you have made. Faulty that bridge was...” You hear as out of the shadows of the far pillar creeps a crawling chitinous creature with a large green eye. It walks on four legs and slowly moves in a spider like fashion, continuing to hiss and mumble until it is across the crevasse from the party; the bridge now broken.
Orro, about to take a step to follow the group on the bridge, looks up in horror as they plummet to the bottom. "Are you okay?" He looks up at the creature. "Did you sabotage that bridge so they'd fall? Or are you here to help?"
He has a pulse of radiant energy ready to cast at the creature if it does anything hostile.

Duncan stands up, catching his breath after the wind was knocked out of him from the fall and replies, “A bit bruised, but standing.” Seeing the creature he quickly tries to climb ((athletics 17)) back up to the side where his companions are, to ready his weapon, and perhaps readying to try to jump across.
I’m sure climbing up used all my movement (if Duncan makes it), so for his action again use the ‘dodge’ action as he stares down the beast.
“I’m okay.” Daphina called up to the group. “I definitely can’t fight much more though.” She winces. Daphina watches as Duncan tries to climb to see if she could make it.
”Sabotage the bridge, I have not. Doing of my employer, that is.” The creature telepathically says as it stares at you unblinkingly. “A deal, I have made with a man. Glasstaff, his name is. Guard this cavern I must, but willing to bargain I am. Ferrum is slave to no one.” It laughs with a cackle.

Orro looks down into the cavern to see what else is down there, as his companions climb out. Perception: 21
"Bargain? What do you seek? And what does Glasstaff give you? I'm curious if you'd let us take a look at what's on the other side, or tell us more about it. We are here to find out what these red-cloaked men are up to. They took a friend of ours. Have you seen another dwarf, like me, brought in here?"
Vulmar stands on the far edge of the bridge, having just narrowly stepped away as it had given away. His narrow eyes view the creature with distrust - it certainly looked evil. But there were many thing under the Moonbow's wing that looked evil or foul to those unfamiliar with the diversity of life. Nonetheless, he draws his silver sphere from its place in his pocket and prepares for things to get worse.
Oh, please don't make a deal with the damned thing.

“Seek food, I do.” The creature gives another cackle indicating to the corpse at the bottom of the crevasse. “Food, Glasstaff gives Ferrum. Satisfied it makes me.” The creature mumbles to itself again for several seconds, before looking back to the party.
“No. Seen a dwarf, Ferrum has not. Have eaten I would’ve. Yummy, you look.” The creature continues. “What is it you offer? Deal in secrets I do. Divulging of information there can be?”
Orro looks to the rest of the party with a skeptical eyebrow, almost ready to drop it and put the creature down.
He also looks along the rest of the cavern, wondering if there was any other route to get over the crevasse, or if the bridge was the only option. He thinks back to the corpses in the other room, filing away the information as a last resort option.
"What do you prefer to eat?"he says, not entirely hiding his revulsion. "And what kind of secrets do you have?"
The creature gives another cackle before descending quickly into a couple more seconds of mumbling gibberish. “Many secrets, have I. Trust you must, and food I must have first.” The creature then pauses. “Food... food. What does Ferrum want. Ferrum wants... Ferrum wants... Of course! Flesh! Any flesh. Fresh... rotten. Like it all Ferrum does!” It says with a wide smile.
Duncan tightens his grip on his glaive thinking, “This creature needs to be put down.” But holds himself back waiting to see how these ‘negotiations’ continue.
"Let me confer with my friends here,"Orro says, and pulls the rest of the group back away from the crevasse for a huddle. He whispers, "I had thought maybe we could learn something from it, but I don't know we can trust what it says, since it seems focused on flesh-eating. We could bring a body from the last fight and see what it says. Makes me squirm a bit though. Either way, I think we know where this ends. What do you think?"
I should note. You were able to make out the inklings of a bridge farther down the crevasse (North on the map). Continuing maybe 10 ish feet down the path on this side would bring you there.
"Well, I don't mind feeding the corpses of those thugs to this thing but I don't really understand what we'd get in the bargain. As long as we aren't trading souls or somesuch. I don't like the looks of it, though."

Kayassa goes off and looks for one of the bodies that looks light to her, she will use a dagger and cut off some of the skin before returning with it. "Will this work?"

Kayassa moves to follow Daphina across the bridge, keeping close to her. "So what do you think we'll find in here?"
And so the party crosses the bridge. Daphina first, causing the bridge to give a creak and a sway. Then, as Duncan follows, setting foot, the bridge snaps with a crack.

No check needed to climb. It counts as difficult terrain, but other than that, you both are able to scramble to the top after about 10-15 seconds.
The party now all stands on one side in a sort of face off against whatever this creature might be. What would you like to do?
It continues to make no sign of attacking and simply mutters to itself and gives to occasional chuckle or hiss.

Kayassa raises a brow at the strange creature, not sure what to make of it. "What do you want in order to deal with us?"
