"Rock always say we do this thing." Rock says with a nod, giving the kids a wave of greeting. "We go now, get these little ones back to town before they frozen solid." he picks up the littlest and places them on his shoulder. "Let us go." he says, and is ready to get these kids back to someplace warm.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"You give them wolves what for!" Shayne will call out to the Mammoth as it goes after the wolves, giving it Inspiration for it's battle against the quicker creatures. You wolves are lying liars who lie!" the bard will call out to them, casting Vicious Mockery at the closest. (Wis saving throw vs DC 14 or 2 psychic damage.)
Shayne will hurry forward (but not too forward) to try to watch as much as he could of their battle, but would reluctantly leave with the rest of the party. He will tell stories and sing songs for the kids on the journey back, trying to pass the time and soothe their fears. (( Performance13 ))
The wolves would have been way out of range for vicious mockery - I'd say they were about 120 feet from the eastern edge of the central chamber. Keep in mind that the squares in the map above were 10 feet, not the standard 5.
Ines - the kids are cold, but otherwise seemingly unharmed physically by this episode. They explain that they have only had raw meat to eat for four days now, so they could use a more well-balanced meal.
The party begins the trek back to Dougan's Hole, the kids in tow, and the wolf problem maybe dealt with? Anyway, you all proceed along the path for what you now know will be about a four-hour journey.
Elderan, because of your passive perception being so high, about an hour in you begin to notice that you're being followed. A large, cat-like creature with sharp, pointed canines, not quite as white as the snow, has been walking about 100 feet behind the group, just close enough that you can see it. The animal does not appear hostile, nor hungry, and when you catch it glancing over at you, you could swear that the eyes are... intelligent. Much like the mammoth you encountered earlier, now that you think about it.
Elderan, sticking to the back of the group keeps checking over his shoulder for the wolves, or maybe old habits die hard. Ever watchful he spots a newcomer and while it IS a large predator he trusts his instincts that the animal is not hostile. He calls out to the rest of the group in a calm voice so that no one makes any sudden moves that could be interpreted as threats.
"Rock, stop the group please, we have a visitor trailing us. Doesn't seem hostile but lets move the kids to middle." To the cat- "Hello friend. If this is your territory I apologize for our trespass but we are just moving through."
Ines will stay next to the kids. "Don't worry, we'll get you home soon," she tells them as they stop. She hands them each one of her rations. "It's not the best meal, but maybe it will help keep up your strength, okay?"

You Keep Using That Word, I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means
Rock, with one of the kids on his shoulder still, stops the group and turns back to see what sort of creature is following them. "Are you another of these things that speak?" He calls out in a loud voice, after the creature has been pointed out to him. "Rock has found that many creatures speak in this place..."
Avarice notices a huge rune on the back of the throne. Do any of you speak Giant?
There is nothing else especially notable about the throne.
Back to the road: The sabre-toothed tiger, realizing that it has been spotted, walks carefully toward the party. She seems especially curious about Rock. "Anira sends her regards, dragonborn," she says to the goliath. "You do remember, don't you?"
Avarice would instantly have recognized the rune as the Giant word for "ice".
The tiger responds to Rock: "Anira knows these parts. And she knows her work when she sees it. She has followed you for some time now. Find her where the White Moose prowls, near Lonelywood."
Here's the map of Ten-Towns. Lonelywood is to the northwest, on the eastern coast of Maer Dualdon:
"Rock will do this thing." Rock nods with a seriousness to his face not usually there. "First though Rock need do other thing, bring these children back to their home." He gives the tiger a nod and turns back to the job at hand.
"Be on your way then," the tiger says with a nod, before running off into the distance.
The rest of the trek back to Dougan's Hole is uneventful. You arrive just after sundown, and the often both literally and figuratively cold town stands before you.

Ines follows the others. At the sight of the kids, she'll check them to see if they need healing.

((That's fine, Shayne still mocks them... just less viciously.))

Now we trek back!

"Rock remember..." He says with a frown at the sabertooth. "A long time ago that was though..."
(The above is based on if he recognizes the name...)
Make a History check.
Even if he doesn't remember the name, hearing himself referred to as dragonborn would trigger something.
Avarice speaks Giant.
