"Blame for what?" Rock asks, not overly astonished that the thing talked, many animals seem to talk these days after all. "For his death?" He nods to the fallen giant. "Rock did not do this thing, but will seek out those who did if you wish me to do such a thing."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Indeed, we know not what you accuse us of. We had nothing to do with the carnage before us so surely you accuse us of something else?" Shayne says in his most calming and persuasive voice. "I shall admit, this large individual here did indeed traipse the frozen lands to this structure more than willing to engage in combat. I was with him the entire time though and I can assure you he has not fought a single soul this day."
"If suspect for this carnage was sought, I would propose it was likely the giant wolves which led us here. These wolves, which we suspected of kidnapping some of our own, first feigned injury then acted as if they were turning on their own master, the giant, and bade us come here and kill him to free our kidnapped kin. We suspected shenanigans on their part, which is why we found the back entrance instead of entering the front... But our hands are clean of blood. As are our weapons. We have just arrived and are obviously innocent of what happened here," Shayne continued, doing his best to persuade the mammoth that we rightly had nothing to do with these deaths,
Ines cringes as she kicks the rock. She mouthes "Sorry,"to the others. Seeing the dead frost giant her eyes widen. "Oh dear," she breathes. "Yes, I think it was the wolves. They told us to come to get the children!"

The mammoth sniffs the air around Rock and Ines. "Yes. I see now. It was not you that did this. But be aware, your very presence desecrates this tomb. You may offer a prayer, or a gift, and you will leave us in peace."
The mammoth focuses on Rock, suddenly curious. "Wait. There is something familiar about you. I smell... her influence. Have you too been awakened?"
"Rock is awakened often." Rock says with a low chuckle. "Mostly in mornings though." he says with a shrug. He nods to the dead giant. "Rock gives a prayer for your companion..." He bows his head and takes several moments to say a silent prayer, then nods to the mammoth. "Rock and companions go if no need further things here..."
Ines steps next to Rock. "I can also offer prayer."She bows her head, holding her holy symbol "In the dawn, beauty reigns, and the way is clearer. Lathlander, offer your light to send this poor soul to his final resting place. For there shall always be another dawn."

"I am afraid I have no gift worthy, but I would like to play a simple song of mourning in honor of the lost," Shayne says and slowly take out his flute and does just that. The song in soft and simple and calming, good background noise for contemplating those gone too soon.
After a short pause, Shayne would speak again. "I am a bit of a storyteller as well. I would be honored to carry forth the story of your fallen, to sing their praise for all I come across to hear... If you would share it with me." Shayne is always looking for new stories and perspectives. ((Plus he dearly wants to know if this was the giants tomb, the mammoths tomb or just what all is going on here!))
He will listen if they wish to talk, otherwise he will bow, state that he understands fully, and gracefully make his exit.
Elderan comes running into the main chamber and sees the giant, mammoth and the rest of the group for the first time.
"Holy...what...happened in here? I found the children but we need to get the wolves away before I open the cage they are being held in or they will be eaten. I... (looks to the mammoth who doesn't seem to be trampling his new friends) think we might need your help or those beasts will more than your giant master."
Shayne, make a persuasion check to try to get the mammoth to tell its story.
Avarice - the giant was hacked to pieces by regular weaponry. It definitely was not the wolves. Whoever killed the giant also appears to have scavenged anything of value off of his body, but you do notice a not-totally-natural cold radiating from his throne.
The mammoth's fury slowly subsides over the next minute or so. He looks up at you all. "You who walk with the druid-touched will avenge his death. This is not a question."
Rock glances around and then to the thrown. He shrugs. "Even Rock no carry that thing out of here." he says. "Rock thinks we set kids free and get this thing we are here for done." He nods to the mammoth in respect. "You good friend to fallen one there." With that said he moves to head onward in search of the kids.
With that said he moves to head onward in search of the kids.
"Umm...Rock...I found the kids already. I just need you to watch my back and help me guard them after we let them out of the cage. I think its best if we all go together. Follow me if you will."
**When the group is ready to go** Elderan will lead them to the children in the cage. Reaching the cage Elderan will inspect the lock for any traps (9) and then pulls out a small black leather case which he unfolds and pulls out several delicate instruments and sets to work getting it open (15)
"Wolves do not 'ave thumbs, ze giant was killed by bladed weapons. It seems like ze throne is magical." Avarice informs as she casts Detect Magic.
Avarice detects a distinct aura of conjuration magic around the throne.
The mammoth, apparently understanding that the beings around him pose no threat, begins to tell his story. "I am Norsu. This room we used to greet other giants when they came by. The druid had not yet performed her foul magic on me then, so I did not speak. The wolves are scavengers. Garagai used to feed them scraps from his butchered whales to protect the place from interlopers. Until he was killed. Some people, like you but stronger, came through two tendays ago and killed him while I was out. The druid came by not long after that. She told me that I have been awakened. I think she thought she was doing a kindness, giving me the intelligence to find his killers. But all she did was make me aware that he will not return."
"Perhaps it's time to find a new life. You, get your people and be on your way." The mammoth rises to his feet, and dashes toward the eastern entrance. "Koran! Kanan! Your free ride ends today!" He lunges for one of the wolves.
Koran skids a few feet, stunned by the mammoth's surprise attack but not knocked completely prone. The mammoth attempts to stomp on him, but he clambers just out of the way. He dashes out of the lodge, Kanan not far behind. They leave through the central exit, take a sharp left turn, and vanish into the distance. Norsu gives chase but the wolves appear to be too fast for him.
With that said he moves to head onward in search of the kids.

Seeing their opportunity, the party runs around to the southeastern entrance. They find two humans. One of them is a spindly girl with pointed teeth, snow clinging to the end of her long braids. Another is a boy with a spotted face and small, malformed ears. His hands are red with frostbite, and his teeth chatter uncomfortably. Elderan goes to work on the lock holding them inside the cage. After about a minute, the lock snaps open and the gate swings free with a loud screech.
The girl introduces herself as Silja, and her brother as Finn. Silja roughly pulls Finn to his feet, and begins making a break for the entrance.
