Allorian looks at Bayard and nods, "Agreed, I do not think they are the same. We have two separate issues here." Turning to look at Rhasor, "Well, I think you could have been a little more up front about there being poachers in the area. Seems important don't you think? We didn't come here to help with a poaching problem, but it seems like something we could handle. If you are interested."
Rhazor stops in his stride and turns to look back at the party, before saying "We weren't aware that there were poachers. When the men left the Maiden, I thought that was the end of it. The poachers definitely are from the free cities. The one who did most of the talking was from Gillesburg. The others didn't speak enough for me to gain their cities, but, they all spoke like Halveryn people. I don't think the pirates are. Yes, we can use your help on this matter. We don't have a lot of money we can offer you in payment, but, I'll see what I can gather from the other villagers."
At this point Brue speaks up "We can either watch the beach south of town, though we don't know which beach is their meeting point, or we can watch the dock in Old Town. I can take a turn at watching them if it helps."
Allorian is listening intently to Rhazor, then nods and asks him "Can you describe the one who did the talking for me please?" Then turning to Brue, "Brue, I need your help finding these men. My group has other scores to settle in the area. But find the leader and let us know where he is. I am sure Caliban would love to speak with him."

"The man who did the talking was named Dreslis Gundamen. He's a tall human, about as tall as your cleric there" He says pointing at Bayard. "He has brown hair, brown eyes, and a goatee, with a little bit of gray in it, probably in his late 30s, with a bit of a gut on him."
Brue responds "I can help with watching the dock or the beach, but, I can't completely abandon my responsibilities to my family. I can watch in the early morning hours before we head out to our fishing grounds and again in the evening after we get back."

ooc Sorry, I did not do a good job of explaining where the lizards were at. From the original post about marching order, I have Brue at the front, Xarrut and Caliban behind him, Allorian and Tandal in the next row, followed by Rhazor and Serser, with Bayard bringing up the rear. The three lizards attacked from the front of the party. Lizard 1 is to the left of the party (on the side where Xarrut and Allorian are), Lizard 2 is straight ahead of the party, Lizard 3 is to the right of the party.
Save vs. Xarrut's burning hands
Lizard 1: 1
Lizard 2: 8
Save vs. Bayard's Thunder Wave
Lizard 2: 6
Lizard 3: 7
Allorian Lizard: 5
Xarrut casts burning hands on the lizards 1 and 2, with lizard 1 failing its save, while lizard 2 was able to dodge out of the way, taking half damage. But, that brought it directly into Bayard's thunder wave. Neither Lizard 2 nor 3 made their save against the thunder wave. An arrow from Allorian's short bow finishes off lizard 2. Tandal moves in against lizard 3 and slashes it with his sword, followed by a kick to the head. As he kicks the lizard, an audible crack is heard, with the lizard falling dead to the ground.
Brue, who stepped behind Xarrut and Caliban when the lizard appeared, quickly shot an arrow toward lizard 1 Attack: 16 Damage: 7
ooc Okay, it is not letting me do one last edit to my post. I'll finish it here. Spoones, I could see your rolls fine. The website seems to be doing weird things with rolls right now, particularly if you try to edit a post.
ic: In regard to Bayard's question, Serser quickly says "Yes, we are defending ourself, plus, I think we are close enough to the river that they are fair game."
Brue's lizard kills the final lizard. As the party looks around at the three lizards, Rhazor speaks up "WOW! I think you are definitely the men we need to end this dispute with the bullywugs. I think the tail of this encounter will encourage people to loosen their purse strings. Thank you again for your help. But, let's leave their carcasses alone. No need to give the king any further reason to criticize us."
The party is very shortly back aboard Thojon's boat, with the current propelling the float down river fairly quickly. The trip back to Alderey probably takes half the time the original journey took. But, it is still getting to late afternoon by the time the boat is tied up to the docks in the town

"Well, that just shows we should be on guard at all times. This is their home and they know how to move in it better than we ever could. Getting that close before we ever heard them... too close." Caliban looks to the two that cast magic "Aren't you supposed to have a pet that can help keep an eye out for us? What was it called... familiar?"
Bayard give Caliban a strange look, "I'm no wizard or witch. My power comes from Valkur. Besides, I thought folk like you were supposed to be one with the wilderness and see these things coming?"
Xarrut dusts off his fingers and buffs his cost before readjusting his grip on his cane and continuing walking. “Come on now, the day is wasting. We have alliance to reforge and pirates to see hanged.”
Caliban shrugs at Bayard "Not sure what about me makes you think I am capable in the wilds. I grew up in a church incased you missed it. I have only rudimentary training in survival" he sheaths his sword and returns his Warhammer to walking cane status and returns to his place in the marching order. "shall we be off? We have business to attend to."
Allorian gives a little chuckle and adds "Bayard and Caliban, the two of you seem to have more in common than you thought. When we get back to the inn we can discuss whose god is biggest and how much rope we need for the pirates, eh Xarrut?"
Caliban glances over at Allorian, "I do not care which god is bigger, I care about helping people that need help and putting a hurting on those that need it. Most men can be helped with just a little adjustment of attitude." He pounds the pummel of his Warhammer into the ground for emphasis.

Allorian covers his mouth with his hand as he smiles, thinking how much fun it will be to nettle Caliban. Putting his hands up in a placating manner- "Of course, of course." Turning to Bayard- "but seriously Bayard, your god is pretty big eh? Well, lets get back so we can rest up. If it's early enough I want to go out tonight and find the pirates camp."
Bayard shrugs, "There may be gods with more followers or greater breadth of power, but Valkur is the one I've chosen, like many other sailors. And I've been lucky enough that he chose me too."
