His hair is white, streaked with blue and you’d swear the light coming through the door caught the faint glisten of scales on his skin.He is struggling to no avail to free himself from the beast as the creature holds him bound and gagged tightly.It moves directly for the stairs leading downward towards your level and is followed by 4 Redbrands.They have, so far, not noticed your group focusing on their captive.
Loren looks around the room briefly, gages the reaction of the party, then nods, lips tightening as he draws one of his recovered daggers. He darts to the side, leaping his height vertically and scrambling up onto one of the barrels, waiting for a moment to strike.
This is the room - Is Loren on the barrels in the upper left or lower left portion of the room? I believe Velshir is on the southern side of the Cistern where he retrieved the satchel with Joshua not too far from him as he identified the liquid in the vials as magical. Sheyla is on the left half of the room, but unsure which portion. The bugbear is now descending to the 10' high portion of the landing above the lower door holding his captive by the back of his neck and arms marching him down ahead of him due to the narrow steps and height. The 4 Redbrands following down the north side of the stairs behind him.
Velshir wastes no time charging the bugbear, attempting to reach him on the upper platform (he has 45’ move speed so hopefully can reach it without dashing).
As he advances, he growls to no one in particular, “Now I know what bugbears are, and I also know that I don’t like them!”
He rushes the bugbear and attempts to smack him in the head with his javelin or otherwise draw his attention and hopefully get him to drop the pale fellow.

If the enemies appear to be caught off-guard and no immediate counter-attacks are apparent, then he will follow it up with an unarmed strike. Attack: 13 Damage: 8
If, on the other hand, the enemies appear ready to crack back, he will instead use some of the momentum of his attack to be ready to dodge or otherwise counter any incoming attacks (use ki to take the dodge action)
(I was debating about whether to give you all out surprise or give them disadvantage due to height and went with disadvantage. For reference I use the Red coloring to show enemies and reflect what the 'him' might refer to. All obvious friendlies are Green and unknowns but likely friendly are Blue)
Joshua successfully casts mage armor on his turn and can remove himself to an area not visible at this time(possibly near Loren?).Velshir's swiftness enables him to reach the Bugbear before he can do much to react except shoving his prisoner to the corner of the stairwell behind him and deals the creature a total of 21 points of damage, causing severe injury.
Loren's move - unless he wishes to reserve it for later.

Loren sights up a knife for a wicked throw across the room. He aims for one of the squishy rebrands, but decides that the angle is wrong and goes for the Bugbear standing right next to Velshir!

Loren's swift moves deal a killing blow to the Bugbear who falls off of the narrow 5' ledge to the floor 10' below with a heavy thud. Lorens stealth enables his quick disappearance back into the shelter of the barrels and corner storage area.
Sheyla watched her friends rush forward dispatch that Bugbear quickly. Having contributed nothing, she decides to burn a spell, or rather, freeze a spell. She made some flowing gestures with her arms and then ended it with a solid push of her hand. At the end of which, a frozen spike of water flew out from the cistern into the midst of the RB group.
Casting: Ice Knife. I'd like to aim for one more towards the middle of the group of them but 10 feet away from allies as this has a 5ft radius affect.

Following the defeat of the Bugbear and its fall from the ledge, the captive is able to (although awkwardly) get past Velshir and semi stumble down the stairs in the commotion.
Sheyla'sIce Knife pushes into R3 as he reaches the first corner of the stairwell. R3 takes the full force of the ice knife and its resulting cold damage as his only direction of escape would be to leap off of the 10' high ledge and opts not to do so. R4 attempts to reverse up the stairs with a Dexterity check of 12 but fails and suffers 8 points of ice damage. R2, also having nowhere but off the ledge suffers the full 8 points of damage. R1 attempts to leap forward but in the direction of Velshir to get out of the blast with a Dexterity check of 18 collides with Velshir who make an opportunity attack on him but gets clear and doesn't suffer the cold damage.
Velshir may take his opportunity attack on R1 before I roll their attacks. R3 is very severely injured and all Redbrands appear armed with dual blades - however still stuck on the staircase.
Velshir's attack hits and injures Redbrand 1 with his opportunity attack doing 6 damage. Redbrand 1 then attacks Velshir back with dual blades Attack 1 5 Damage 3 Attack 2 15 Damage 5 missing with both.
Redbrand 2 maintains his position behind Redbrand 1 but cannot attack due to the narrow (5') staircase and the other Redbrand's Dual blades.
Redbrand 3 and 4 reverse direction and move to the other side of the staircase to descend the other way and will be able to be descending the southern last set of stairs by the end of their turn.
Joshua's turn.(I'm going to rule no opportunity attacks on the other Redbrand's as they aren't moving "away" from anyone that isn't blocked by other Redbrands and still trying to get to the others, Sheyla seems of particular interest to them due to the damage sustained.)
Also - if the 'Captive' would like to do something at this time, he may do so but note still gagged and wrists bound. Feet are free and though badly bruised no real damage has been sustained yet as they were trying to keep him in in good condition for possible slave trade. Captive is at the base of the stairs currently between the party and where the Bugbear fell.
