Okay, it's a hit on Onyx as the Ghoul is able to find a soft spot on the paladin! However, the paladin musters extra focus as he is able to resist the foul, paralytic agent on the ghoul's disgusting claws!
Onyx - your attack hits the ghoul, carving a decent chunk out of its torso - a significant hit!
G4 just moves up behind G3 and snarls, reaching for Erven before realizing it cannot get to him. [takes dodge action]
Seeing Erven's anxiety, and faced with only one creature that he can attack, Talion transfersrenews his curse to it and strikes with his trusty meat cleaver.
Before I resolve the above, wanted to ask/clarify:
Erven - you could do this but it would set off a couple of AOO before you can get past Talion to the north. Talion - more than an hour has passed but you still have a spell slot for hex - do you want to use your remaining to cast it?
(( @DM: Since Erven MAY do a runner, please hold off Talion's move until that's resolved...i didnt think he could move through an enemy square, so wrote my move as I did (now i realize he doesnt need to move through an enemy square) ))
(( @DM: Since Erven MAY do a runner, please hold off Talion's move until that's resolved...i didnt think he could move through an enemy square, so wrote my move as I did (now i realize he doesnt need to move through an enemy square) ))
Sure it can wait until Erven confirms his move. I'm not really sure what you mean - are you talking about yourself or Erven?
I like the variant rule, "Overrun" and "Tumble" when moving through a hostile square, instead of the normal rule. So if Erven wants to go through a hostile square, he can choose to overrun or tumble. It counts as difficult terrain and it can provoke attacks of opportunity.
(( I missed the fact he could move diagonally to Talion, and I have not seen the overrun or tumble stuff;
IF he attracts the AOOs, it would be a noble sacrifice because then Talion would move back as well, and cast a Elditch Blast, sadly it would not allow Sho to run to join them because he comes after them in initiative, I think.
Talion might not want to be out-done in nobility, so MAY move back to give them something else to hit...or better still, Talion could Grapple Sho (don't get excited) ))
Erven is able to deftly move around the sluggish ghoul, and as Erven moves out of melee range, it swipes its claws at his retreating form (attack of opportunity): Attack:15Damage:7 slashing damage. IF this hits, make a DC 10 CON save or be paralyzed for one minute.
If Erven succeeds, he moves through Talion's square and makes it behind the wall at C/D 12, breathing heavily. On a fail, he falls to the ground at C12.
*note - Erven does not have to make the save because he's an elf! The claws miss and hit only empty air! Erven is safely behind the small wall at C12. Talion - do you want to keep your original move? You asked to wait until Erven moved...
(( I think I have been misunderstanding the movement that is possible. If Talion can't move from D13 to E12 without a tumble, then the option to heroically shove Sho out of the way does not exist. If that's all correct, then: ))
Before he makes his attack Talion moves to C14 so that he can cast a spell rather than use a dagger. (( More damage; only reason he used a dagger was because he was adjacent ))

Alternate Damage Roll: 7 ( + 5 + 2 from above )
(( lol, or exactly the same damage ))
He ends his turn moving to A14
Talion backs up and thankfully G1 does not have an opportunity attack remaining; all it does it turn towards Talion, growling low. Talion responds in kind, a crackling and sizzling beam of energy striking G1 directly in its mouldering chest!
G1 turns from the rapidly disappearing form of Talion and groans at Sho, drawn to him. It will make an attack with its claws: Attack: 11Damage:10 slashing damage. If a hit, roll a CON save (DC10) or become paralyzed for 1 minute.
G3moves up north 5 feet and is now in between Sho and Bertolt. It will slash its hands down on the bard: Attack: 20Damage:6 slashing damage. If a hit, roll a CON save (DC10) or become paralyzed for 1 minute.
Sho is able to move out of the way of the claws, while Bertolt isn't so lucky. It's only a glancing blow but the danger is whether the toxin can work its damage or not!
The stumbling ghoul roared and struggled to slash down, claw nearly grazing his armor and falling beside him.
Sho glowered at the rotting form in front, and out of the corner of his eye he saw Erven and Talion fleeing - good thing they were able to get out. The decaying features of the ghoul's face were unrecognizable, even if what was inside this walking corpse was once a human, it was a pathetic and foolish one. Sho gritted his teeth and raised his shield, the holy symbol he wore on his forehead glowing brightly.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bertolt takes the hit and grits his teeth together and is able to fight away the effects of the poison!
As Sho starts to talk, his voice grows in timbre and authority. The ghouls suddenly stop and look immediately at the cleric. Their withered, leathered skin stretch across their chipped and cracked teeth, hissing their dismay........and fear, as Sho invokes his dread lord!

You all look towards Sho. A terrible and ominous hue radiates triumphantly from his person as he holds high his lord's emblem; his voice takes on a more commanding - otherworldly even - tone as he beseeches you all to allow the wretched creatures passage......
Erven, Talion, Onyx, and Bertolt - roll a religion or a history check (choose one).

In order to accomplish a tactical retreat and hopefully narrow the attackers to one corridor, Erven focuses on the ghoul at D12, and attacks.
Attack: 9 Damage: 11
If allowed, Erven would try to run around / leap over the ghoul at D12 afterwards, going north and avoiding being flanked.

Erven will tumble to go north, aiming to end up in C12. After that he will stand and face the ghoul to the south.
