Druquilla turns and gives the queen a courteous bow, "Thank you your majesty, we will do our best to live up to your expectations of us."
She then walks over to the others, clapping Gintarou on the back, "We will see if we can pick some up on the way, but for now let's get going before the trail goes cold."
" Agreed. " Says Gintarou who is wiping his nose with his sleeves. " Bloody ninth hell! I'm feeling sick! I hate feeling sick!! I will let those damn weeds regret picking a fight with the son of a rice farmer! "
Nature ( Does Gin know something about those plants?) : 1
You come to a swampy area where the moist ground squelches under foot. There are deep patches of mud everywhere. If you are going to move make a DC 14 Wisdom (Perception) check to find a safe path (characters with a Passive Perception of 15 or higher automatically save) on a failure your speed is reduced by half rounded up.
While in this swampy area, a great crashing comes from the jungle ahead, and in moments, an aurochs beetle bursts forth, the beetle looks to be covered in the same moldy spots as the infected Oahtu from earlier, he lets out a roar and starts to charge you all.
"What's with these things?!" Mist shouts as he tries to keep his boots from sinking into the muck. Drawing on new skills he's picked up while reading over Aubric's shoulder on the ship, he reaches his hand down to the mud and casts shape water in an attempt to freeze the water around the beetle's feet.
Neither Mist nor I have any idea if this would work but we're giving it a shot!
(I play a game with the family oldest son just turned 11, middle child son 9, daughter is ready to start playing but I think 3 is too young, my wife also plays so I get to use my minis.)
Beetle will have to make a strength save VS your spell save 15. Should they fail they will be restrained, and will require an action to attempt to free themselves, again strength save VS your spell save DC 15.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
" Oh crap! Accursed marsh! I'm stuck again! " Gintarou pulls his foot from the mud, preparing for the enemy. But the beetle stumbles and falls. " Well done, Mist! " Laughing aloud, the warrior runs toward the monster. He aims at the gap of its shell and brings down his weapon from 10 ft away.
Action ( Attack with advantage to restrained enemy )
Great Staff
Attack : 26 Damage: 19
Bonus : 27 Damage: 19
(OOC: Great move, Mist! That's really clever use of Shape Water)
"Well, if we take what the last plant thing had said into account," Druquilla answers as she draws her bow, knocks an arrow, and takes aim at the beetle. "Whatever these plants are, they want off the island and to grow larger." Druquilla looses the arrow calling forth her spectral school to follow the arrows arc to the beetle, "After that we will have to find another talking plant to find out."
With an 8 to hit I'm going to assume that Gintarou does not need to even roll, so its your all turn again, I will take the NPC and monster's turns some time on Friday.
Gintarou blocks the attack from the monster bug easily. " Glad to know that I'm not the only one who is suffering from the mud! You are a tough guy, little bug. Let's see how tough you are inside! " The warrior raises his weapon and this time aims at the gap of the beetle's shell.

Seeing her arrow bounce off the shell of the beetle Druquilla grits her teeth as she draws anothe arrow from her quiver and takes another shot at the creature.

Water is easy enough to find, and the path is not that hard to follow for a time.

Gintarou you would have needed to use your action to get to the beetle, which is fine because that attack missed anyways, the BA hit.
