"He's right here and he can hear you... Sea witches can be so rude!" Patting Freb's moist shoulder conciliatorily, he says, "Don't worry, big guy. I appreciate all you contribute to the group." Shooting a look back to Dru, "Now you hold still! I'm trying to aim!"
The attacks borage the slimes and leave them lifeless. When the battle ends there is a popping noise and you I need everyone to make a con save DC 12 or take 1 poison damage.
Also based on the perception checks you do see in the sap on the inside the sap you find a marble chalice inlaid with electrum (25 gp), Butterfly Helm. An open-faced helm of insect chitin. It is adorned with a brightly colored crest made from lacquered shards of butterfly wings A pair of long, wispy butterfly antennae are affixed to the front. While wearing this helm, a character forms a light psychic bond with the antennae, gaining advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks to detect creatures within 60 ft.
Gintarou moves around the chamber with ease. Unlike others, the sap barely reaches the giant's knees. " Who needs help? " He helps the ones who stuck by offering them his polearm and pulling them out of the sticky liquid.
Ok so everyone makes it out before the 4th round seeing as everyone else is in the sky. I am waiting on Druquilla, and Mist to make their con checks and we can move on to the next chamber.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Con save: 6
"Would ya look at that? We come out sticky and get gifts! This cup'll look positively fancy for drinkin' booze!" (added to inventory) "And a winged hat..." Mist looks sidelong at Druquilla. "Maybe Kraven should have it since all wings are the same, right?" He rolls his eyes and isn't completely successful at stifling a chuckle.
Moving down the carved stairway leading deeper into the tree, you notice more of the strange, colored rot along the walls and steps. These patches are easy to avoid, but as the descent continues the clumps of rot take on more defined shapes, almost like crude carvings of animals and insects.
You come to a, well its not a doorway but it is a doorway. This next room is covered in mold and fungal growth of various kinds. It's more colorful than the fungus that can be seen elsewhere in the tree. In some places, it glows with soft bio-luminescence. The walls are lined by several tall growths of fungus shaped into humanoid figures, like a strange topiary garden.
The fungal topiaries crowd the chamber, providing half cover to anyone passing through the room.
The Voice of the Mother waits in the room between two topiaries, carefully studying the features of one of the statues. You hear the Voice musing to itself as you stand at the doorway. The Voice appears to be speaking to the topiaries, trying to connect facts that linger in its mind with these figures, but failing to place them.
Within close site you can see a pair of topiaries – an older man and woman - bear a familial resemblance to Gaius; perhaps parents or close relatives. Another appears to be a male elf that more than resembles The Fell One.
Mist's mouth is already open, ready to engage the fiend with his razor-sharp wit when he hears Kraven's question. He'd just assumed it would be both. With a shrug he predictably barrels on with his initial "plan."
"Are yis growin' people? Killin' 'em by way o' growin' plants all through 'em like? Jus' what in Yondalla's name are yeh hopin' to accomplish? I mean...ya can keep comin' back and we can keep killin' yeh all day long but there's got to be some kind o' long game. 'Takin' o'er the world' is so trite and non-specific. Please tell me you've got summat more'n that. Or better yet!" He raises a finger. "You've come to your senses, seen the err of your ridiculous ways, and replaced yer hands wi' scissors to take up gardenin' for the rest of the islandfolk to make up for yer past misdeeds! I do so enjoy a tragic love story..."
He raises an eyebrow and waits for a response while preparing an eldritch blast and waiting for Tuk to invisibly get into place behind the Voice should things go south.
"They're sooooo... familiar, yeeeeet..... lost and unknowing... I should know them... buuuuuut, I don't and I do at the same time." He reaches his hand to the face of the topiary he stands infront of. It looksto be a female elf, wherein a long dress holding flowers in her hands. "Nooooo, yes. Ohhhhh yes that, yes them... how I miss them despite not knowing them." The Voice drops his head, and then turns around, his eyes for the first time look to be almost human, then a green hue glosses over them. "Mother wants the world." And he draws his dagger, and talks again "Join us, aid us willingly and it will be remembered."

Kraven summons a dagger into his hand and then looks to Dru before throwing it, leans in and stretches up to whisper in his ear, "Attack or talk?"
Mist's mouth is already open, ready to engage the fiend with his razor-sharp wit when he hears Kraven's question. He'd just assumed it would be both. With a shrug he predictably barrels on with his initial "plan."
