"That depends on if he's inclined to pay us by-the-rock or of he's holdin' out till we get the set, init?" Mist's bushy eyebrow raises a bit. "But I'm busted after this trek. I think a stiff drink or six and a day at sea will help jog the ol' memory."
He starts up the gangplank back into the ship.
"Somebody said somethin' about a bar out on yon flotilla, yeh? Why don't we go explore before heading back out to the depths."
Aubric didn't realize he was holding his breath till the dragon flew off, then he let out a very audible exhale. "You certainly like to live dangerously. I agree we should depart as soon as possible" he pauses for a moment "However a drink or two would not hurt."
Asking for drink you are pointed to "The Drunken Treasure" you do have to take the ship out of the docs and meet it a little ways out.
You pull up to a new doc, that is square in shape, and attaches to nothing. In the center of the wooden doc seems to be the top of a castle. 5 towers come out from the water, 2 shorter ones are in the front close to you, forming a square with these two towers are the next two, but they seem to be a level taller, and a larger one in the middle of the far wallk, of a rectangluer building. The base of these towers go under the water, you can see the effects of the tower spending time under water.. there are a few ships that are doced.
Druquilla takes off her boots before sitting at the edge of the dock, so her feet are in the water as she looks down at the sunken castle trying to spot the submerged entrance. She has a smile on her face as she remarks, "It is always amazing what the sea can do. How quickly do you think the sea took this kingdom? How much land did the sea claim? I would not mind exploring that at some point, see what might have been left behind when the waves came."
" I can understand you are eager for a drink, Mist. But better be in a hurry. If the little princess read the journal, it won't take long for her to find we weren't so honest to her" Gintarou looks up at the sky worryingly. The doc lets out a loud and squeaky complaint when he steps on them. " … And about what we will do next. Well…I'm a little lost. I think we should return to Greyhaven. At least we should tell the old man that he has a huge competitor now. That's our duty. But at the same time, I'm worrying that we might lure the dragon directly to our home…"
@Druquilla
"… Hundred years or ten days? It will happen. That's for sure. " The warrior looks into the dark surface of the sea and says. " Nothing lasts forever. Even gods. Even giants and their kingdoms."
At the Door there is 2 for a lack of better words guards, they are Merrow, who are sitting in the water with their human torso out of the water. As you walk in they hand you a breathing apparatus, and explain how to use it. It is a simple magic item, a pice of sea weed that you put into your mouth, and works for 12 hours.
The seating and service of The Drunken Treasure is cunningly designed to resemble a surface-dweller tavern, without having things floating willy-nilly throughout the room. The tables and chairs are either carved entirely from stone, or, if they are made from wood, have weighted legs to ensure they stay put. Every dish comes covered with a weighted lid to keep food from floating away and being scooped up by the wild sea life that is constantly swimming about (when this section is under water too). There is not much in the way of silverware, as both Merfolk, Merrow, and Triton tend to tear into their food with their teeth, but knives are tethered to the table and sheathed at each place setting if needed. Sep Zittel, the triton bartender, eagerly greet you when you come in. He is accompanied by a mix of merfolk, tritons, and intelligent sea creatures who act as servers.
"WELCOME IN NEW COMERS! Sep is the name, what can I get you to drink today?" Sep's voice is full of joy, he does look to be one of the youngest people in the tavern.
Sorry for the delay! Just catching back up from a long weekend out of town...
Mist looks up at Gintarou. Even being held aloft by the towering Freb, he still has to crane his neck from the golem's abdomen.
"Och, I wouldn't worry so much, Bigm'n. What reason would we have to lie to 'er? Far as she knows, we didn't find the blasted rock up there and, with them in the bag, it's unlikely any amount of scryin' would point a magical eye toward us. We're just another foolish band of adventurers who can't tell their own arses from a mimic in the ground. Let's have a drink and relax for a spell before headin' to the next stop o' whatever hairbrained goose chase we're on!"
Mist nods an acknowledgement to the "guard" and dives in, eschewing the seaweed tongue depressor.
"Aye, Sep! A round fer me crew! We're about to leave that wretched rock in our wake and have need of a proper toast 'fore we do."
Once they've settled in and the attention has dissipated a bit, he swims over to Sep and more quietly asks, "We've just come from the Spire. A strange place with strange people and strange happenings. Can't say I'll miss it. But probably would've done us some good to stop and ask the locals about dangers and whatnot before we started the climb. As we're leaving the area shortly, is there anything we should know about the seas of the region that we wouldn't've picked up from the way in? Any concerning goings on we should be aware of? Any work to be had? Honestly, we're in a bit of a hurry but it never hurts to ask." He shrugs and smiles.
For the most part you don't have to swim on this level, at this time, Mist of course does.
"What will you all be having?" Sep askes when you order the round.
A very old merfolk, female, slightly over weight swims to you with your drinks after you decide what kind. The drinks are sealed in a pouch formed from a large, flexible seed pod so that they may be consumed even underwater. Her outfit leaves little to nothing to the imagination, and she might have been better looking in her younger days. From her mouth hangs a cigaret. When she speaks her voice is deep and rough, think Marg's twin sisters, "Here's your drinks loves, I'm Echo, if you want anything to eat we have seaweed wraps, a clamshell concoction, and an algae pudding, as long as Jake Redbeard didn't eat it all. If your more hungry than that, our Surf and Turf is salmon and chicken with red seaweed side, a group build your own swordkabob good for groups like your, and we have our all you can eat salad reef over there." she jerks her thumb to a table that looks like an all you can eat salad bar the bowls are giant Claim Shells bolted down. "Just give me a call if you need anything." And she swims off.
"Well, not much I can or should be talkin about master, if you want more info then I would send you down to Menon's office, its down one floor. He is the closest thing we have to an owner here."
(When I have merfolk we are talking about mermaid/men)
[OOC: sorry I should have been more clear, he is looking for anyone that needs their pockets picked, either money or something shiny, shiny over money.]
You see an odd looking pair, a small one, probably about the size of Mist, and then smaller one, both in black cloacks, and what you can see past them is shells.
There is a male merfolk passed out face first in the table, he looks mostly homeless, but no one is bothering to try to move him. Slightly over weight and well into his years, his scales go from green to blue to purple.
Sitting by herself eating a salad is a merrow whos scales go from reds to purple back to reds. She wears somewhat fancy clothing, or at least what you think to be fancy clothing for someone who lives mostly underwater. She has an object that she checks every so often, then puts it back. (Might or might not know what it is, but for the mind's eye sake its a pocket watch.)
A pair of merfolk females. While the hair and face do show the family conection, but their color of their scales are the exact oposite of eachother, yellows and oranges. They are well built women. They are wearing shark leathers for clothing, and have several empty booze sacks at their tables, along with a few empty plates.
An aged priest with a week's beard and patched robes staring mournfully at a glass of water.
A short plump halfelf, his light brown hair is starting to gain some salt to it. He has a smile from ear to ear, and he is pooring over lists infront of him. He does have a lot of trinckets all over his belt.
Kraven looks over the odd assortment, for him at least, people in the tavern but his eyes continue to go back to the half-elf. The trinkets at his belt getting brighter and shinier the more he looks at them.
When he has more to drink, I might have to take a closer look to see what there is.
After Kraven sees the half-elf drink a few more drinks he will make his way stumbly by and see what he can grab off the belt, potentially bumping into the half-elf his table and mumbling his apologizing if the half-elf takes any notice of him.
With your discription I am changing the stealth to deception, so a 21, even still, you have him fooled so I am going to give you advantage on your sleight of hand, so 9
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Sorry it was not any better)
When you bump into the Half-Elf you are able to slip something off of his belt. It is a neckless made out of silver worth 3 silver
"Ohhh hello there, the name is Craig, how are you today, would you be in the market to buy anything?" the Half-elf is overly friendly, think Patton Oswald in terms of look and voice.
Pocketing the necklace then turning to face the half-elf, "Sorry for bumping you, just killed a cyclops and then let my words get away from me and confronted the dragon. Might have drunk a bit too much because of it. What do you have for sale?" Kraven asks.

He turns to face the dwarf and gives him a long, contemplative look before cracking into a huge grin.
