As Zelk remembers the frequency that Kuo-Toa communities change their deities, he informs the group, "From what I remember, the Kuo-Tao tend not to stick with a single god for very long. That might make it a bit trickier to blend in, but I don't know that we have very many other options."

"I never really.. studied religions So I can't say I could fake that well... Also I'm not terribly fond of the idea of being near a civil war. not a lot of choices other than picking a random direction or trying to blend in at this point....as creatures that don't belong here." Fuse adds to the conversation; but honestly at a bit of a loss at the two dead options he sees. "Seems like Drow probably aren't all the way out here at least.. probably.. we can't be that valuable-assuming they think we were eaten."
"Nor I, religion was one of those topics that struck me as overly subjective. Too much room for variable interpretation of whatever this prohpet said or that deity foretold. An interesting philosophical debate, but not quite my field of interest. The advantage of war is that there is a lot of confusion which we could use to our advantage, though that confusion comes with an equal amount of suspicion. Though a religious uprisiing doesn't necesarily mean all ot civil war, so perhaps it isn't quite as bad as all that."
"I still prefer moving towards the city at least to reassure ourselves that the drow are off our tail."
Zelk tries to compromise the two options, "Perhaps we can move closer to the city, while not openly declaring ourselves to the Kuo-Tao. Perhaps just proximity to the city will cause the drow to turn away, and that way we don't have to deal with the complications of the civil war. Besides we need a place to properly rest so that we can find our way back to the surface."

"Sounds fair to me. Skirt the place, scope it out, get involved if we need to.. but hopefully the Drow think we entered. " Fuse agrees with the group decision.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zelk nods and says, "Regardless of what the drow think, we cannot move into the city itself if there is a civil war, and avoiding entirely seems to be throwing away an opportunity. I'll keep a lookout ahead of us, do one of you want to try and create a false trail behind us?" With that, he begins to continue moving towards the city, although he does so silently and using nature's guidance to mask his footfalls. Meanwhile, he is also keeping his eyes out for any other patrols of Kuo-Tao.
Andarel, keen not to experience another confrontation with the Kuo-Tao so soon, also attempts to remain as quiet as she can. In the short walk, she has returned to her role taking charge of the twins and tries to keep them calm and quiet until Zelk nods an all clear for them.
Andarel breathes a light sigh of relief, then ushers everyone to continue following Zelk. Asking amonsgt the others whether any may be more skilled than she so their trail leads in a different direction.
After the danger has passed. "So.. I was thinking about trying to make a false trail.. but. That might also get us caught by these folks? Should I risk it? I'm willing to try." Fuse inquires of the more seasoned indvidisuals.
(I assume that'd be survival. I got a +3; but Fuse isn't exactly knowledgable thematically)
Zelk shrugs to Fuse, "It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I suppose if there is a chance it alerts the Kuo-Tao to our presence, the risk might not be worth it." Regardless, while they are figuring it out, he continues to move in the same direction around the city.

After a couple hours, you approach the city. From a distance, it looks like a massive tangle of reeds stretching up into the darkness, lit by glowing spots of phosphorescence. Upon closer approach, a series of rickety towers can be seen, lashed together by rope and plank bridges set in haphazard patterns.

After 20 or so minutes:
Zelk:
You spot some sort of Kuo-Toa priest accompanied by 6 others.
Zelk whispers a warning to the others before trying to blend into the surrounding rocks and hide.

They continue walking, apparently unaware of you.
As soon as the patrol passes, Zelk nods to the others and motions them forward where they continue onwards around the city.
(OOC: Is anybody making a false trail to throw off the drow?)

(OoC - Can we see many Kuo-Tao around? Does it look guarded?)

(Yes many Kuo-Toa. Not apparently guarded though. Sorry, I thought I had responded to this a couple days ago.)
Zelk whispers to the group, "Let's give it a wide berth. Don't want to risk running into any more fights than we need to."
If the others agree Zelk will begin to skirt the city, keeping his eyes out of any approaching Kuo-Tao with the help of nature.
