(Well, 1st off. By the rules a dnd a creature with a strength 2 can carry up to 30 lbs. Half of that if the creature is Tiny. Even if you didn't wish to be as "generous" as the rules are, a potion weighs about 1/2 a pound. Way less than its total capacity. That's not mentioning dragging, lift, and pushing which is even greater.)
(Secondly, The DC 10 (which amounts to a 50/50 chance I believe considering the rat has no bonuses to anything) is in place to represent it fenagling a means of administration. Rough Example being pulling off the cork with its teeth and tip it over into Gordon's mouth... Gordon probably also have to make a con check to avoid choking if the vial is just dropped in open and left to pool down his throat.)
(rats are pretty smart, so I don't really see a problem with it. It's been an interesting fight since you've been finding so much use out of those two)
(plus rats get HUGE (not the DnD designation of huge, but relative to a stereotypical rat HUGE))
(Not only do rats have a strength of 2, they also have an intelligence of 2. I'm sorry, that just shouldn't be possible. Where exactly is this rat carrying the potion? Why is the DC to maneuver this (relatively) huge object only 10?)
(While seeing creative ways of using rats is cool, this isn't cool. This is just implausible to the extreme. I can accept losing, since that's not what this is about. I can even accept sleep/magic missile/portents. I don't accept gimmicks that shouldn't work.)
(Also, rats can get huge. That would be a giant rat.)
(And, how could it feed it to him if his mouth wasn't open? With a humanoid feeding him a potion, it's simple. They open his mouth. I don't think this rat is smart enough to drag a potion over, uncork it, maneuver it just right to tip it in his mouth, and open his mouth.)

(Yeah. After the Dice Gods decided to more or less kick me in the back twice right from the start, I was a little miffed. Then, I remembered this was DnD. Some bad rolls are just blessings in disguise, or a good future story to talk about around a campfire :D.)
(Also Wooby. Don't forget get to make a Conc. Check to keep your Shield of Faith going if you are still conscious.)

(Yes. Not as hard as its been kicking you. They wanted a size 15 for your particular bottom. But yes. Because that's all they can really do unless I get clever about it. As you would just about anything in DnD. And while using the help action doesn't take a lot of thought, I have been expanding upon an otherwise disadvantageous roll of the dice.)
(In its mouth. Dragging it, if need be. Rats as mentioned are clever. But if it helps, It's also being magically compelled to effectively "do its best"? As most magically compelled creatures are. It has the strength to pry open an unconscious man's mouth as ridiculous as that seems/sounds if need be as well. But at this point it is starting to feel as if we're go heavy into arguing semantics and filling up the wrong thread for this. If you want, we can go to PM with the DM of course included to settle the matters if he doesn't post on here? Otherwise, I'm just as happy to stop beating this horse further and wait for further clarification/ruling.)
(If you don't like the enemy rats then stomp them. Each attempt is using Marmaduke's bonus action. Much less reliable than a Healing Word. I'm not sure why we're treating the rats like they've succeeded when they may very well fail, if they ever get a chance to attempt this thing. That's the only result I've ever seen before, a smashed and wasted potion. That had a lower DC (7) and we had plenty of potions.
A side note: my personal experiments at the table have concluded, one need not remove the cork to administer a healing pot. Simply smash the bottle in your allies mouth, and the piercing damage will be immediately counteracted by the increased effectiveness of administering the potion directly into fresh open wounds.)
