They have hands. They use utensils to cut food into smallish bits and pop them into their beak. A rear section of their tongue, plus their upper palate have evolved into a hard keratinous chewing/grinding surface, which breaks the food up slightly more. Then their stomach acids are stronger than the average humanoid (still able to deal with an entire raw rat, which makes an appropriate meal when camping rough). Still, a good chunk of raw pteranodon liver tossed into the gullet makes a rare treat even at the finest Aarakocra dinner party.
Do their females produce milk? If not then regurgitation seems a natural way to feed infants.
Given that in non of the official art there seems to be a profound difference between males and females in their build, I'm guessing they lack mammary glands and therefore do not produce milk to feed their offspring. This essentially means that either they mash solid foodstuffs in any way (either by eating it themselves and regurgitating or by using tools) or find other ways to find food for the infants that are still unable to fend for themselves.
Fun fact; given the beak shape of the aarakocra, their diet should mostly consist of meat. It's likely that the adults simply snip off tiny pieces with their beaks to feed their young that way. Similar to real life raptors and birds of prey feed theirs. Bald Eagles (after which a lot of Aarakocra are modeled) don't even truly regurgitate to feed their young I believe;
Eagles have an out pouching of the esophagus, called a crop, where they can store food when the stomach is full. The crop also separates indigestible substances, such as feathers, fur, and scales from the meat. The indigestible substance is mixed with mucus and formed into a mass. After the meal, the eagle eventually regurgitates the mass as a casting.
Kenku, on the other hand, have a beak that is suitable for more varied foodstuffs, from meat to grains to carrion. And crows/ravens do regurgitate: Source
I'm guessing it makes the most sense to look at their biological real-life counterparts and model it after that. I mean, the same goes for the reptillian races (like kobolds, dragonborn and lizardfolk) or some of the aquatic (like kuo-toa, merfolk and sahuagin)

This is all made up of course.
It's an interesting take on it, one I had not considered!
The more interesting question is do they regurgitate food for their young.
