I have a Rogue character who is death from the shadows with a bow and arrows but who has little use for javelins. He is working to obtain a Quiver of Elhonna/Efficient Quiver. What I'm wondering is how many bundles of 60 arrows would fit in the middle compartment? I'm thinking at least 2 but I don't know. If you have an answer, please give any source references you have to support it. The only measurements I can find are weight (and I don't even want to tell you how many arrows make up 36lbs).
For extra points, would a 10-foot pole fit in the largest compartment?
I think it is best if you just don't try to game the system. At most, I would allow it to function identically to the smaller compartment.
The 10-foot pole shouldn't be a problem in the large compartment.
DxJxC, I'm not sure what you're basing your answers on, either about the answers to my questions, or about my motives. If you don't know, it's okay to say so.
RAW DxJxC is right; the other compartments only mention bigger items, so smaller ones might get lost or be irretrievable when you put them in. Either that or the magicc simply fails to function and it's a regular 20-arrow quiver "at best".
60 arrows still is a whole lot though, don't think you'd ever need more.
I've thought long and hard about adding to this discussion. Maybe some will find value in it, maybe not. When I started this discussion I was looking for written rules, rulings, Unearthed Arcana or anything official from Wizards of the Coast on my question. I don't think I could have been any clearer that I wasn't looking for opinions. I felt this was just due diligence before bringing my idea to my DM (who's opinion was really the only one that mattered). Instead I got opinions and a certain amount of hostility that has put me off using these forums since. There are plenty of other places on the internet to get information, especially on D&D. Not finding anything official from WotC, I went to my DM. We did some brainstorming and came up with a rule that my character would spend 15gp quarterly on arrows and as long as he had the quiver, it would just be assumed there would be plenty of arrows, relieving both of us of any need for tracking all the many arrows he used, since he was the sole ranged support for the front line fighters.
I probably won't be back to read any responses. I just felt the need to get this off my chest. If you find value in reading this, that’s great.
I'm sorry you felt hostility. I assure you none was intended. My first answer was me being too nice and trying to not just down your intent with a "the rules say no." When you responded with "if you don't know, it's okay to say so," I gave you the answer I knew: the rules say no (but nicely).
Could you at least tell me what part of what I said was hostile?
Opinion about trying to do something outside the rules.
Answer on how to bends said rules.
Apology for something I didn't do.
Pointing out that it was not what the rules allowed.

I hope you find the time to read back this response; I've never meant any offense or hostility in my post. I'm sorry you felt that way because it was not my intention. English is not my main language, so if my wording was harsh or could be considered hostile that might be a reason why. I tried to give an in-game reason for a RAW ruling, that's all I intended. I'm not trying to make light of the situation, it's aweful you felt threatened or mistreated and I truly apologize if what I said or how I said it made you feel that way.
The solution you came up with your dm is brilliant; it saves the hassle of keeping track of your arrows while still keeping the "realism" of expenses on the arrows.
From description on DNDBeyond from "Manage Investory => Add Inventory": "...The longest compartment holds up to 6 long objects, such as bows, Quarterstaff's, or Spears."
Am I reading this correctly? Does this mean that I can use this quiver to carry additional shortbows as weapons along with arrows?

Yes you read correctly, the Quiver of Ehlonna has three compartments connects to an extradimensional space that allows the quiver to hold numerous items while never weighing more than 2 pounds. The shortest compartment can hold up to 60 Arrows, Bolts, or similar objects. The midsize compartment holds up to 18 Javelins or similar objects. The longest compartment holds up to 6 long objects, such as bows, Quarterstaff's, or Spears.

I wasn't making any assumptions about your motives other than wanting to carry more arrows.
Really, by RAW the middle compartment cant hold any arrows because they are not similar sized to javelins.
