So, l was going to create this post to ask if there's ever been a case of a Wizard creating a spell only for it to end up in other spell lists, but before l did, l decided to look at some of the spells l knew were Wizard Creations, such as Floating Disk and Tiny Hut, and l found that Leomund's Tiny Hut can be known by Bards and Twilight Clerics, so the answer is yes.
So, l guess after the Wizard Creates them, the gods can decide they like them and teach them to their followers, or something? Something about how if one person figures out how to knit the Weave into a new shape (spell), others eventually will too?
In my headcanon, the manner of manipulating the Weave isn't as well-defined to have strict boundaries on everything, and some methods are similar enough to overlap between classes. Because Wizards study the Weave, I'm thinking (headcanon) their methods more often go into the areas of overlap than others, not to claim that other classes cannot create methods that Wizards and still other classes can access.
The game has different requirements for different spells. That's what prompted my headcanon to think it's about how one manipulates the weave.
Otherwise, a Wizard (of the Coast) did it.🙃
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
IMO, a Wiz is an “Arcane” caster, so their spells can conceivably be learned and cast by other Arcane casters (Bards, Sorcerers & Warlocks). And if a particular deity decides they want to appropriate the spell then who’s gonna stop ‘em?
