I have two weird plants that I like to uses the Nightwisp and the lullaby bush.
the Nightwisp has a long root system with flowers every few feet the flowers glow light blue in the dark. When ever a animal gets too close to the Nightwisp the flower closes and the next one lights up. They are attracted to sights of magic and are also known as witch’s flowers and wisps. When used in a potion can give dark vision
the lullaby bush is a medium sized bush with orange flowers. When a animal touches the bush it releases spores that cause sleep (dc 15) the spores last for a minute and the plant can only use it once per day. The plant gains energy from creatures that sleep near it by absorbing psychic energy caused by dreams. They grow near faywild crossings. Their petals are used in a tea and can be concentrated to make poisons that cause sleep.
I would like to know what other plants your world has
Blightrose: A black rose that is poisonous. When ingested, it closes off your lungs, making you suffocate to death, and it also turns your veins and lips black. Mechanically, you must cause a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or begin suffocating. You repeat this saving throw every minute. Tyrofluse: A multicolored flower blossom that grows on vines that grow in jungles, this blossom can be dissolved in acetone to extract a substance known as Flu-Tar. This sweet-spicy tar can be added to drinks to increase sweetness, and also cause the consumer to be more vulnerable to hypnotism. This gives you disadvantage on saving throws against illusions and enchantment spells.
I have a few others I'll add later, I just have to go for the moment.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
I have a plant that I intend to use in my next homebrew (funny word for an alchemy thread). At present, probably because of the Hobbit movie, I call the plant Hog Weed. You can call it anything you want but the idea is it was a common plant in a specific region that was recently discovered to have a special property. The plant has some special property that causes the yield of an alchemical reaction to be doubly potent so that after using the ingredient the alchemist may dilute the potion 2:1 to yield two potions. However, it does not allow potions to be "twice as strong" because it appears drinking these double potions is toxic. This is one of the reasons it took some time to be discovered.
However, the availability of this ingredient (actually the roots, which harvesting kills the plant) is extremely important. Because it doubles the yield of any potion, it is phenomenally important to any alchemist brewing special potions. But because there is a limited supply it is considered a crime to use it on something minor like a basic healing potion. Because of this, the "authorities" treat Hog Weed as a critical controlled substance. It is not permitted to sell Hog Weed without approval of the buyer and the seller by the rulers because they don't want it falling into the wrong hands. This could have economic, political and strategic implications if a quantity of it fell into the wrong hands.
The plant grows only in a small area around one town, that has since grown into a city. In my homebrew, this city is ruled by half-elves, and the inhabitants of the city are very near exclusively half-elves. Half-elves being known for their diplomatic skill are sought after throughout the region as diplomats, and some have degraded themselves to become a sort of mercenary diplomat or diplomat for hire. In recent times, because of the discovery of Hog Weed, half-elves are often courted to establish ties with this specific city in hopes of securing greater quantities of Hog Weed for other cities or kingdoms.
Hog Weed was a common plant in the region but for some reason it doesn't grow everywhere. It is believed there is something in the soil that allows the plant to flourish. "Industrial Spies" have attempted to obtain soil from the region and transplant Hog Weed in carefully tended gardens to see if it can be grown elsewhere. So far, this has not succeeded.
The production of Hog Weed has become a major industry for the city. They have an enormous field of it surrounded by a stone wall patrolled by guards. There are turrets along the wall and a more substantial fortress at each corner. What started as a plant that was neglected, became a plant that alchemists grew in small garden plots and now is cultivated on an industrial scale in this one small region. It yields once a year, but currently druids and agricultural clerics are working on spells that may permit it to yield two or three times a year. It takes seven months to sprout and grow to sufficient size to be worth harvesting. Winter kills the plant but not the root. However, if it is left to grow for a second season, it just doesn't grow much more. It is planted by cutting apart the root into segments of a certain minimum size and the roots are replanted. One plant typically has enough root to make three more the next season when divided this way. The amount of Hog Weed is now controlled by the amount of land where it will grow, which is pretty near the whole area inside the walled farm which is less than 200 acres.
Once grown it is harvested and the root separated from the leaf. The leaf (it grows something like a cabbage) is still fed to animals because it doesn't have an attractive taste. The root is washed and placed in barns to dry. After a month or so drying it is brought to a mill and ground into a powder. The powder is sifted to ensure it is fine enough for the alchemy and any rough powder is sent back for more grinding. The ground powder is packaged in small wooden barrels lined with cloth; a rough sack cloth against the wood and a fine linen cloth inside that where the ground powder is placed. The barrels are clearly stenciled on the top, bottom and in three places around the sides to make sure everyone can see what is in the barrel. The barrels are stored in a government storehouse and sold in carefully tracked shipments.
The nations that buy the powder send armed caravans to pick up their casks and deliver payment. Payment is often not made in coin but in other exotic goods; spices, art carvings, highly prized weapons and armor, jewels, pearls, silks, dyes or even potions and scrolls. The purchasing nation tries to agree on a commodity that will be just as difficult to ship to the half-elves as it will be to ship the processed Hog Weed. In this way the caravan is 'balanced' for travel both ways.
However, there is one oddity about these trade relationships. The half-elves have used up just about all of their arable land growing Hog Weed. Therefore one of the commodities they need are basic food stocks of grains, vegetables and even animal products (meat, leather, horns, bones, …). The nearest kingdom has entered into a regular agreement with them to grow all the food they need and deliver it for a set amount of Hog Weed powder each year. They have resold a share of their Hog Weed to become an affluent society themselves and the half-elves have to make sure they are equally as scrupulous about who they deal with. This means that the half-elves can't be sure their controls will be fool-proof.
On a grand scale the surrounding kingdoms provide security to the half-elven community. They have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo for the supply of Hog Weed powder. So at a strategic level their security is guaranteed by the kingdoms beyond their borders. But on a local scale there are any number of underworld groups attempting to break the security and steal a great quantity of the powder for themselves.
In addition to becoming experts in the growth and processing of Hog Weed, the half-elves are leaders in a few other industries. Their druids and clerics are known to be among the top in their specialty. Half-elven diplomats have been 'a thing' longer than the use of Hog Weed. However, because of their own access to Hog Weed, a group of half-elves have become leaders in alchemy, making potions of great value for sale. This helps the government stay on top of how their leading export is used. Potions made by these alchemists are placed in special bottles with cork stoppers that are then dipped in hot blue wax. A seal of the maker is applied to the hot wax. A colored ribbon is also embedded in the wax so that it protrudes an inch or so. Knowing the color of the potion and the color code for the ribbon allows the user to verify the potion's effects, and the blue wax with the seal shows its authenticity. Other artisans have been drawn to the city so that the city is also well known for its art and architecture. The need for security has led strong magic users to come here as well. Also due to the need for security and the emphasis on architecture, there is a minority culture of dwarves that excel in stone work that are part of the community. The storage barns are made of the best stone work found for an hundred miles.

The mixture is twice as strong but consuming these potions is toxic so they have to be diluted. This yields two potions.
By doing this I don't run the risk of unbalancing the mechanics for 5E because all the potions are still 'normal effect' levels.
It only matters if the players get a hold of some of the processed Hog Weed, because then they can make two potions for the price of one. If the players try and make their own Hog Weed powder (from an unprocessed root), then they have to know how fine to grind it and how much to use.
As a story element it creates a huge number of possibilities including dealing with Underworld elements (crime) as well as Evil entities normally the subject of D&D campaigns.
I hope you find something in there you can use.

This blood holds important nutrients that allows the bushes to survive. When they're filling up with blood, they turn a deep red. They have developed a symbiotic relationship with denthias: the flowers' fragrance attracts wildlife, which the bushes kill and drain. Then the bodies decompose, creating fertilizer for the denthias.

Ibcremis Tears can fetch a pretty price on the market, if you can find the right buyer. Just make sure they don’t grow out of hand! (Also, they can thrive in almost any environment, as they don’t need a whole lot of water. Makes sense, as the land around Ibcremis is currently a desert. That’s been irradiated. By a magical explosion that happened several thousand miles away. It’s not a very hospitable area. But the Tears grow fine!)
