For me its not an either or, but if they told me it was I would at least understand. At this point they have failed to get the UA up and running in a timely manner. As a paid subscriber I can be annoyed by that and voice my displeasure in their performance, and in their lack of transparency on their progress. Does venting here make a difference? Unknown.
But the nipple rubby phrase was great. Top notch. I have no idea what it meant and that is glorious.
I dunno, dude, the nipple rubby, all I'm thinking of is an Austen Powers sequel, and I always try to bleach that image out of my mind when it's rendered. Does Comcast own the Austen Powers franchise?
As said elsewhere on this thread, "as a paid subscriber" show me where in this description of the service you're paying for you're guaranteed or even told you'll be receiving UA coded into the toolset. So as a paid subscriber you're upset over a freebie the service you're paying for is not in any way obligated to provide.
That’s the problem that needs a fix then. What I’m getting is that the forums here aren’t for getting answers from the company but rather a milling plane for customers, a place to shout into the void that the company controls. I was hoping for a definitive response from a representative, someone who can get real information. They don’t need to though, do they? All they have to do is let their unpaid representatives answer for them. People who will defend something just because they need something to defend, contrarians looking for a cause.
I see 12 pages of guesses, conjecture, and assumption but not a peep of an *actual* answer from someone with the ability to find out. So far these forums seem to be a one-way communication device for the company, not a forum for them but for us. For them this is a microphone.
I dunno. I see 12 pages of productive, insightful, and fun discussion of the actual UA punctuated by an occasional crank that's upset that the UA isn't coded into the toolset ... and then ending on some bloke who I think doesn't know their way around the board. So I'll take your tantrum, and give you my hand and walk you over to parts of the board that are more actively monitored by people who work in a customer service capacity. Looks like at least one other person is asking your question, maybe if you add me too to it you'll get your answer. But as I said earlier (not sure if it was this or the other thread) in the Dev Update last Thursday the Draconic UA was listed as simply "in progress". Also said prior to that was that D&D Beyond has never given an actual implementation date / ETA for any feature in its history. So that's not a conjecture, guess, or assumption. That's reporting back information from an authoritative source. You don't have to accept it or appreciate it, but getting mad at the community for not appreciating your outrage over something that is not an integral or guaranteed part of the service you may or may not be paying for will only gets you so much hand holding from that community.
Yeah, this thread is for people to talk about the draconic options UA that was released by WotC. We are *not* here to answer questions about when DDB will or will not implement UA in their system. If you don't like that, well, tough.
The nipple rub South Park reference insinuates that the devs get off on saying "we're sorry", when they can't or won't give a meaningful answer. It's been a few months since a major employee turnover, which included the cofounder who ran weekly dev updates. So yes, there is a lack of transparency right now. If you don't want to give them the benefit, that's your prerogative. Similarly, many are content with waiting a bit longer.
Also, I want to point out that using UA is free. No subscription or book payments required. All you need is an account, an open character slot, and a dream. I would consider free content low priority given how many other important pieces of content are coming out now or soon. But that's just an opinion, and I don't work for DnDBeyond.
Where'd my table go? Oh it must have landed over there when I flipped it during my last post. I think I just homebrewed my oft hoped for DRAGONRAGE. ;-)

Dragon Barbarian would be cool....flight speed while raging at high levels....free AoE Frighten attempt when you crit....Can infuse your weapon to do an extra d8 of elemental damage related to dragon when you are raging once per turn that scales (pun) with level.

Late to this party, so if it was said I apologize. However, I think of crystal dragons like a crystal used to gather, direct, focus, or split light. This both accounts for the breath weapon and non descriptive name. Thoughts?

I may have to... No I definitely need to steal this.

Crystal Dragon used Solar Beam!
It's super effective!
Only thing is you're talking more about configuration, shape, not substance. So while crystal may well be D&D tradition (which makes historic sense since those origins dovetail with ubiquity of "crystals" embedded in fantasy pewter figurines found in mall gift shops all over America, and I imagine Lake Geneva had its fair share of malls), in actually "geologic," so to speak, it's not really in sync with the rest of the gemstone dragon variations.
Also a lot of those fancy prismatic crystals you find at the new age shops ... are glass. If you want a "gem" you're probably talking the mineral quartz, or maybe diamond.
Like maybe the Crystal dragon also has power over snowflakes ... and salt ... and heck a lot of substances we call sand.

True, I was talking thematically not physically. Though it does raise a good question, sand dragons? I want one. Like now. I see they use to be a thing. Get on the WoTC
I know gem dragons are supposed to be psychic. But they're psychic dragons. A feat that gives you a generic reaction psyblast doesn't feel particularly draconic unless you go out of your way to make it so. Which is fine, means the feat can be used as a generic "Psy-Touched" thing, but I don't know if I'd bill it as a draconic feat in that case.
EDIT: Also, any time anyone plays a kender in an actual, for-real game of D&D, an entire litter of puppies spontaneously explodes in a little girl's bedroom somewhere and scars her for life.
Think of the little girls.
Think of the puppies.
And don't play goddamned kender.
want's wrong with kenders though? Im playing a kender warlock right now.

Bad! No! Spit it out! You leave that Kender alone, you don’t know where it’s been. Kaka!

Personally, I'm just waiting to make my Crystal Gem dragonborn artificer, Peridot.

Still no sign of these? Strange.
Eh. Stuff takes time, ya know?

And by now I suspect that they're busy focusing on the impending release of Ravenloft.
