Umm where is this? Trying to add one to my character but can only see Double-Bladed Scimitar not Double-Bladed Scimitar +1 yet DMG lists weapon, +1, +2, or +3 as Weapon (any)
So yeah the weapon my character was given by the DM doesn't exist on dndbeyond even though it should...
It has never been published as a +1 weapon in any book, so it doesn’t exist on DDB. You can easily make one for yourself by following these instructions in order.
Go to the homebrew creator and make a homebrew magic item using “Revenant Double-Bladed Scimitar” as the template. Delete the two modifiers that are there and then “add modifier”
Modifier—>Bonus
Modifier Subtype—>Magic
Fixed Value—>1
SAVE
Then delete the description and replace it with “You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.” and then change the name to “Double-Bladed Scimitar, +1” and then SAVE!!
That last save will trigger the system to pick up all of the changes you have made. It may take up to 20 minutes for these changes to get pushed to the character sheet, so just be patient.
D&D Beyond's magic item system is, insofar as I can tell as a relatively well-informed user, really not great. All the various "Weapon, +1" items you can find on the site have to be manually entered by hand. What this means is that if a special piece of equipment is added in some sourcebook that was published long after the DMG, DDB staff only include things that are actually in the sourcebook, which doesn't include magical versions of the new equipment that would be allowed in the DMG.
The problem here is that for these sorts of magic items, the DMG entry isn't an actual item; it's a template that can be applied to some range of items. But the way DDB is set up requires specific hand-made discrete items for every possible version, because... I don't know, poor architecture planning maybe. Up until Fallout 4, magic items in Bethesda games were set up based on the exact same poor design decision, and let me tell you, as someone who made a mod adding hundreds of new weapons and armor pieces, it was really hecking annoying.
The solution to your problem is to customize the weapon on your character sheet with a +1 to attack and damage rolls. You'll (probably?) have to do this for the bonus action you gain as well, since another flaw of how DDB works is that bonus actions added by items like this don't actually have any way of knowing that the item in question has any kind of magical property.

Actually, the item doesn’t add the Bonus Action attack. Magic Items do not currently have the capacity to add “actions” (action, bonus action, reaction, etc.) to a character sheet. That will have to be manually entered as well. They plan to add that, but lord knows how long that will take.

I know this is an old post, but there is, at least now, an easier way to do this.
Go to your inventory tab.
Click on the weapon, in this double-bladed scimitar. A sidebar should appear with details about the weapon.
Click/expand the Customize section, which should be right under the name of the weapon
Add 1 (or more for +2/+3 etc) to the To Hit Bonus and Damage Bonus fields.
(Optional) Click the pencil icon next to the name and update it to say: Double-bladed Scimitar +1

Neo, that's what coders call "bodging", or "Jerry Rigging" for the mechanics
It's better to solve the issue finally for you, so you can add the item elsewhere to other characters, or share it as a homebrew for campaign, than having to do it each time you want one

Just add the normal one and customize it for +1 to hit and +1 to damage.
