It may help to understand that the campaign tools are very basic. DDB does not (yet) offer anything like a VTT (Virtual Table Top). The initial design/intent was to create digital tools that would help players at physical tables, although these tools can absolutely be used by groups who are playing online.
The campaign feature as it exists now provides the following things:
-a way for players to include characters so that the DM (and if desired, other players) can see their character sheets.
-a way to shared content with players if someone in the group has a Master Tier subscription
-A very basic "DM Notes" section
-a similar, basic "Player notes" section
So I typically have the campaign open in one tab, the adventure book open in another, and additional tabs open as needed (for example, a map). I also have a tablet, so I sometimes use that to have some info open (either using the app or using the website).
For voice, video, or text connection you will need to use another service (like Discord, ZOOM, Roll20, etc.). For the one game I'm running partially online, involving my children (who are at home) and their cousins, we use Facetime.
You will need to either use physical dice or an online dice roller (although a dice roller is in the works for DDB)
Okay, that creates an empty campaign, but I was assuming that by using an existing campaign that all of the encounters in the campaign would be generated for you.
For example. For Lost Mine I was assuming that you would be able to create a Lost Mine campaign that would include all the encounters pre-generated. So the first encounter would have the four goblins, etc.
It says that Lost Mine is available through May 5th. What does that mean exactly? Right now I can only see or use it in the same way that any other purchasable campaign can be? All I can do is read the info about it.
If I were to buy an adventure, what exactly would I get? Is it just digital version of the book?
When you create a campaign you have the option of create an encounter with NPCs, a description and rewards. I was under the impression that when you purchased an adventure that it would include a pregenerated campaign with all of those encounters built out.
If that's not the case, then is it the case that the only way to make use of built encounters is to build them yourself?
So, for example, if I wanted to I would need to manually build out every encounter described in the guide for a campaign?
Purchasing and adventure (or, for the moment, having free access to one) gives you:
-access to an online digital copy of the book as well as access to an offline version for phones and tablet through the DDB app. (but not a pdf)
this "digital copy" is extensively tooltipped and linked. So, for example, you can over a reference to a persuasion check, an orc or the magic missile and see a floating box with a definition/stats/info etc.
-a means of opening maps, handouts, etc. in separate tabs, as well as printing them out
-access in the monster listings (Game Rules>Monsters) and the encounter builder to any monsters published in the adventure (and any monster that isn't in the Monster Manual is published in the adventure even if it is also in, for example, Volo's Guide to Monsters)
-access in the magic items listings to any magic items in the adventure that aren't in the Dungeon Master's Guide (and at least some that are in the DMG)
-access to any player content (backgrounds, etc.) that might be in the adventure
Pre-built encounters are not yet available. They do plan to provide them eventually. It is possible to build them yourself with the encounter builder, and you can specify which campaign the encounter is for. The combat tracker, which lets you "run" encounters is currently in alpha and as such is only available to subscribers. Once it gets to beta status, it will be available to all users.
Note that while it is helpful, it is not necessary to build encounters here in order to run encounters. From the encounter description in the adventure, you can easily call up the stats and info for the monsters into separate tabs and move back and forth between them during combat. For example, say the following encounter appears in an adventure:
28. Haunted cellar. A banshee and her three ghost minions haunt this wine cellar. They won't bother the party if they move through the cellar quickly, but any part that lingers will be attacked.
You can hover over the banshee and ghost references to see info, or right click or the light to open their page in a new tab.
One does have to track initiative, HP etc. by hand that way, but many people do that when playing just with pencil and paper, and I still do it that way if I haven't had time to prep encounters in the builder or if (like last session) the party bypasses most of the level where I did prep encounters to go to a level where I hadn't. (I find small wipe-erase boards great for that purpose)
If I missed any of your questions, or if you have more, please post back. I and others are happy to help.
Alternately, you could buy a pre-written campaign. That's probably how I'll start before I give a setting of my own design a test run.
You missed the point, what they are describing is a prewritten campaign. Ones with everything already pre-generated do not exist yet. Look at the very first line they wrote.

That’s all anyone can do with any prewritten campaign at the moment. And after May 5th you won’t be able to do that anymore unless you purchase it.

That’s it, you got it. At least until the extremely hard working DDB developers have had a chance to finish programming everything. The whole Encounter Building thing around here is basically still in a prototype state. Originally they were never going to have an interactive campaign section like that, but people have been asking for one so they just started making one not too long ago. And the pre-prototype Combat Tracker just came online a few months ago. It takes a lot of effort, time, and money to develop this stuff, and DDB only just decided to do it recently.

Actually, the campaign section exists primarily to facilitate content sharing. They had planned on it, but didn't plan to make it really anything more than that until later. In fact I don't think anything significant has changed in the campaign page features since it debuted back in the beginning. They were very clear at that time that it was a placeholder there for content sharing purposes and to let DMs see players' characters.

Correct, thank you for spotting me on that. My fault for using the wrong terminology, It more accurately should ave read:

I want to be able to share images of things the players see, and maps, through the Campaign. Is that possible?
Sure, all you’re gonna need is an imgur account (doesn’t work with google) to host the photos. There are two places you can add notes, a private section (just for you) and a publicly section that everyone can see. Once you get the link for the hosted photo from imgur, you can add it there. Just like in these windows you can see the buttons above where you type (If not, turn your phone sideways), just click the button with the picture on it.
Its the same as when I purchased access to the 5e players handbook and the 5e DM handbook. That gives full access to each of these publications while in this website. It does not produce a .pdf file but just gives me access while navigating through this website. It is very useful while playing a campaign where I can pull up what I need while playing the game.
Hope this helps!

I'm new to this and trying to figure out how to use the Free Quarantinen campaigns.
I've created characters and I've created my own campaigns to mess around. I haven't bought any yet, I'm trying to see how this all works.
I see the quarantinen resources, but I'm not sure how to actually run these as campaigns or am I missing something?
For example if we want to do Lost Mine I go to this link: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/lmop
But how do I actually create a campaign for that with the players in it?
Go to collections, at the top of the page, choose My Campaigns, then Create Campaign in the top right. Once you do that, you can use the shareable link to invite players.
