Tossup for me between Rogue, Ranger and Bard, but Rogue is top for me. I like my skill monkeys :D
Same-ish, but I landed on Bard. It pretty much changes every week I think, but at a guess Bard floats to the top more weeks than other classes. As character archetype I like Monk and Sorcerer too (and I do play them and enjoy playing them) but getting just 2 skill proficiencies from the class is emotionally scarring. Racial skill proficiencies for the win, but that's for another topic.

I chose Warlock because of how versatile the class is when it comes down to character design. I wish every class had as many customizations options as Warlock.
Any class/subclass that can heal. Not necessarily to be “the healer”; it’s just agonizing to depend on someone else to keep my character vertical. I’ve had multiple characters die because I got myself into trouble too far away from the heals (my own darn fault). I also had a character die because the healer had wandered off and was pissing around with a lock in another room while the rest of the party engaged in a full on battle (not my own darn fault and utterly infuriating). So now all my characters can heal at least a little bit and I got my own back in emergencies.
For the poll I said sorcerer. Divine soul is the bee’s knees and the cat’s pajamas—cool sorcerer stuff plus healing.
Whatever I am currently playing. I have yet to find one I didn't like.
Edit: I picked Bard. I'm an Introvert, so I enjoy characters who are good at social skills, and my sense of humor makes some of their abilities really amusing. I adore the Vicious Mockery cantrip, because the idea of using Harsh Language that does actual damage makes me laugh. Things like Cutting Words, same thing.

I love playing support characters. Let others be the face of the party, let others strike the killing blow, let others have their names sung in the Halls. I am content to be the rock that never falters, the shield that never breaks, and the final hope of rescue when all goes wrong. My teammates may be fighting great and terrible enemies - giants, dragons, armies of fiends and undead - and if they are successful they will win treasure of gold, and gemstones, and magic.
But I fight a far greater enemy. For my battle is against Death itself. I am the one who wades amid the din of war and reaches down to raise up a fallen ally. I am the one who stands bleeding but not broken between the wizard and the arrows. I am the one who stares the Valkyrie in the eyes and yells, "F*ck off, ladies. These are mine." And when I am successful, my treasure is not gold, my name will not be sung. My treasure is my teammates. My name may not be known by the bards, but it is respected by Death.
Personally I love Rogue, especially for the RP stuff I can do out of combat (I find they're one of the best classes that suits acrobatics and all Charisma/Dexterity skills), but because D&D is a team game I also want to be able to contribute when we're all in something together, and that's why the Cleric is my second choice. I don't particularly like the responsibility of healing (or rather, per my current character, stabilising), but I do like being the one to cover everyone's backsides when things go pear-shaped.
Both have lots of room for expanding upon an already meaty class fantasy, which is what makes them my first choices for a character in either the tabletop, or in a video game.
Zero is the most important number in D&D: Session Zero sets the boundaries and the tone; Rule Zero dictates the Dungeon Master (DM) is the final arbiter; and Zero D&D is better than Bad D&D.

They've all been a blast to play but probably the most fun I've had is with the Bard. I'm a performer outside of DnD so this class was a natural fit. Every time I played the character, no matter how little or largely they contributed to the session, I always had fun.

Bards and artificers are my favorites. I'll add that I've had more fun with fighters in this edition than any other I've played. I also really like fighters, rogues, monks, sorcerers, and warlocks.
I've only played a wizard so far, so I haven't voted since I haven't experienced enough to judge, although I have just built a sorceror for a new campaign.
From what I've seen, my favourite is probably the wizard. The sheer versatility of the class makes it very appealing to me. I'd like to try it out in a large party someday, though.

My top of the list is Druid. They are truly a versatile class if you understand them. The problem with them is they are week at low levels compared to other classes, the plus is at high level they can literally become the most powerful character in the party (See Circle of the Moon and it unlimited use of wild shape at 20th level. First round, hello Fire elemental with full hit points. Next round, hello Earth Elemental with full hit points. wash rinse repeat until the others are out of resources and you haven't used any...
My second best is wizard due to the ability to change spell lists to fit the challenges of the adventure. With a proper tank a wizard is a damage dealer.
To be honest, I am comfortable with all the classes and can play any of them very well. I have been playing since the seventies and with all the changes the basic concepts are still the same.
Ranger for me, no other class can do as many things as well as the ranger. To some extent they were designed to survive and thrive without a party which makes them really helpful to a party since they can sub in for almost any role - maybe not quite as well as the primary class but well enough to get the party through in most cases.

Warlock is my favorite because I love creating and interacting with patrons.
I like Paladins and Rogues the most, but I find Druids fun as well.

Anzio Faro. Protector Aasimar light cleric. Lvl 18.
Viktor Gavriil. White dragonborn grave cleric. Lvl 20.
