I am trying to create some homebrew "items" for tracking feats/items that vary in order to simplify life for my memory. I am struggling a bit though as it appears that Piercing for damage is broken, but I am not sure if it is or I am doing something wrong.
For the Feat Great Weapon Master, I created the following:
MODIFIER
DICE ROLL
PRIMARY STAT
FIXED VALUE
RESTRICTION
DURATION
ACTIONS
Bonus - Melee Weapon Attacks
-5
Damage - Melee Weapon Attacks
10
This works fine, but for Feat Sharpshooter, I had to use Longbow instead of Piercing for the same effect.

Any suggestions on how to make this work? I am creating ones for a Defender Rapier, but without the ability to do either Rapier or Piercing, it won't provide the -1/-2/-3 for damage.
The easiest way to implement GWM/SS is by placing a second weapon on the character and customizing it directly on the character sheet. Stick the extra weapons in a container labeled “🚫Convenience Hacks” and it’ll hide all the way at the bottom of your inventory list because of the emoji. (You can copy/paste it directly from this post if you need to.) As long as you don’t “equip” that container, neither it nor its contents will count for encumbrance. So, for example, if you’re using a heavy crossbow, add a second heavy crossbow to your character and customize the second one to have the -5/+10 and name it “Crossbow, Heavy- Sharpshooter” and stick it in that “🚫Convenience Hacks” container. It will then display both crossbows under your attacks so you can pick which one you want to use for each attack.
The Piercing subtype does work, it just doesn’t do what you want it to do.
It would be simpler to add four rapiers to your inventory and “equip” the correct one each turn. One rapier would be a simple +3 rapier, the second would be a +2 rapier with a +1 bonus to AC built in, the third would be a +1 rapier with a +2 bonus to AC, the final being a regular rapier that added +3 to AC.
Of course, the simplest thing would just be to do the arithmetic on the spot and remember it for a round, but that’s just me.

This works well for GWM/SS, but not for the Defender Rapier as it moves points from Attack/Damage to AC, so I need the Piercing to work.
