I'm in a campaign that has homebrew items and one of them grants my character additional spells known/prepared. I created a custom magic item that adds them, however, it adds them all "At Will" instead of using a spell slot and being able to upscale as with most spells added in that manner. Is there a setting I can put on each spell that will just make it a "prepared" spell?
You cannot do it with either a Magic Item or Feat on DDB. It would have to be as a subclass feature or racial trait as the Spells form for those has waaayy more dropdowns and fields, including the three you need: “Consumes Spell Slot” (yes), “Counts as Known” (no), and “Always Prepared” (yes).
The only things that can affect known/prepare spells are Race features and Subclass features.

Well, Because I use foundry, I was able to just add the spell to their list of spells. But-- they cant put it on their sheet in d&d beyond. So Im going to try and find a work around. Right now my solution is to just make the item, and create duplicates of the spells they can access in their tabs on the side bar.

Thanks for responding though.
I doubt that would work. Would be easier to just copy their subclass and make a hidden feature to add the spells. If you would like me to make a video and show you how, please give the full details and I can do that.

Thanks for the info, unfortunate that it's not supported that way. I'll have to find another workaround I guess.
