Hey all - first time posting to the forums and honestly, not sure how I would search for the answer to this question.
I'm designing a set of six rings (one for each attribute). Passively, they will give +2 to a stat and raise the maximum to 22. I figured out how to do this. As a use, the rings will enhance the ability score for 1 minute to 30 (not sure how to do this). Afterwards, until a long rest (dawn), the ring will give -2 to the stat (not sure how to do this). Any ideas on if this is even possible would be amazing! Thanks all!
I think that it would just give a passive bonus. There should be a way to increase an ability score over 20. The difficult part is making the bonus change. The homebrew menu doesn't offer a real way to do this yet. You can probably work this out through a little creativity, and the actual bonuses themselves are pretty simple to homebrew (I don't have the energy to open up the homebrew menu and experiment.)
I would recommend a duration of 1 hour for the positive bonus.
Temporary effects such as you describe are not currently supported on the DDB character sheet. You would need to make a version for the +2, another for the 30, and then a third for the -2 and the player would have to switch them back and forth,
Alternatively you could just make the standard +2 version with the rest as plain text and the player could adjust their Stat directly on their character sheet with overrides.

Appreciate the responses. Figured I'd have to manually do things, but good to know I'm not missing anything.
